Try chicken thali with bhakri, and solkadi, even the veg Maharashtrian thali is tasty.
It's just next to highway 3-4 km before Satara on Pune-Satara road.
I wish to thank everyone involved in the preparation and presentation of our meal on Sunday evening. It was exceptional in every way and added so much to our enjoyment of what was a celebration.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at SHAHI FODNI and I must say, my experience was absolutely delightful. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with dim lighting and tasteful decor. The staff was attentive, courteous, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive and they were more than happy to suggest dishes to cater to my preferences.
Now let's talk about the food! The menu offered a wide variety of options, each sounding more tempting than the last. I opted for KALA MUTTON MASALA SPECIAL and it exceeded all my expectations. The presentation was beautiful, showcasing the chef's attention to detail. And the taste? Absolutely divine. Every bite was bursting with fresh flavors, and the dish was cooked to perfection. It was evident that only the highest quality ingredients were used.
The portions were generous, leaving me feeling completely satisfied. To top it all off, the menu also featured an extensive selection of fine wines and cocktails, perfectly suited to complement the meal.
I also want to mention the excellent service provided by the restaurant's waitstaff. They were attentive, ensuring that I never had an empty glass or any unanswered questions. Their professionalism and friendliness added an extra level of enjoyment to my dining experience.

We had veg food.. n it was awesome... They have verity in menu!
But the only thing is.. they should not serve basmati rice with maharashtrian dishes..

Hotel shahi fodni is another good option while travelling from pune to kolhapur.It has variety of veg and non veg dishes and thali.chicken thalli which we tried was excellent with nicely prepared pandra rassa which was thick pure pandra rassa i had till now without any extra added colour. Ofcourse tamba rassa and chicken sukkha was also amazing. One more speciality of thalli was ..it also had bowl of chicken soup(stock) for kids.
Excellent ambiance theme of fort like any fort of chh. Shivaji maharaj sitting arrangement is also bit different

A friend recommended this place so we went during one of our raod trips. It is not something we would go to willingly at the first glance. We gave it a try nonetheless. And surprise! It serves one of the most delicious meals. A complete Maharashtrian cuisine, their chicken thali is mouth watering. Specially the chicken kheema. The thali has an option of chapati or bhakri. The veg thali is equally good. You will not get Punjabi food here so in case that is what you prefer then do not go there.
Spicy and tasty and I'd go back again. The main chicken dish was deeply flavoursome, as was the chicken thigh curry side dish. The kokum sherbet was delicious - it was the first...
