The location is on the main road leading to Goa from Kolhapur via amboli. The place is known for sea food. The ambience is basic yet comfortable. No AC provision. The food is good but can be excellent provided they serve fresh fish. The fish I got to ate was not fresh. Still recommend as no nearby place for sea food cuisine.
We tried Surmai, pomfret and Crab thali. Whereas I would recommend to go for pomfret Thali as in Kokan you will get it fresh and is very demanding as well.
Crab thali was average as crab size and masala was not that great.
Overall experience was nice but too much crowded.
My first stop for a fish curry meal before I enter Goa. Never disappoints me, the curry flavor is the same for as many years as I can remember. It's a hidden gem, cause you would just drive past if you didn't know it was there. I like the rustic set up, quick service and finger licking food ππ

Visited this place for first time. After having food I was like just Awesome. The food was very good and the ambience is just like village. Home made food and with no additives like colours and flavour.

Yesterday, me and my friends we had lunch at bhalekar khanaval . Food was amazing, tasty and fish quantity was very huge. To be frank , 1st time itna big size pomfret we had in the restaurant in so reasonable rate . One incident happened , I had lost my wallet , aur hum log almost 70 km aage nikle, and I noticed mera wallet lost hogaya, we just made a phone call to bhalero khanaval , and they just said we have kept your wallet safely . Thanx to the hotel staff . I recommend all those who travel by old Mumbai goa highway , definitely try this khanaval, you will π― like it β€οΈ
It is a very famous restaurant near Sawantwadi. They serve varieties of authentic sea food from prawns, fishes, crabs, shrimps, clams etc., We ordered surmai thali which costed 315 including GST. Taste wise its really good as you get to experience the authentic goan way of preparing sea food. The thali included one big surmai fry, roti, two types of curry, rice, salad, kokam kadhi, dried prawn salad(also called golma).
But the ambience is very poor as there was lot of crowd and too little space to even move around. We visited on a holiday so that could be a reason for excess crowd. You can park your vehicle on the road or also avail paid parking service
For Fish lovers, a must visit place in Sawantwadi. Fish was so fresh and big in quantity. Food was so delicious. Overall quantity is also stomach filling. Highly recommend to everyone.
