Amazing place to stay! Had dinner here...serves authentic Italian food..the pasta here is novelty and is something that one should definitely try..pizza is very decent and can be skipped..what I found the best was the white wine which was amazing
Our one of the best staycation till date. We booked our villa here and this place is phenomenally. So beautiful , full of wild nature, beauty. My husband and I went there on our 2nd Marriage Anniversary to celebrate leisure stay. We just wanted to relax and spend some quality time.
Shilim hilton is spread in 350 acres and it is like never ending property.
We have many cars service to travel from one place to another but most of the time we chose to walk because weather was cool and beautiful and plus the place spread in natural beauty. We truly enjoyed infinity pool time. Water was super cold with supremely beautiful back ground. After swimming we ordered 1 pizza and coffees.. All perfect.
I am looking forward to visit it again and that too soon.
We really didn’t want to leave this place, felt like settling there forever ❤️😍
My rating is 4.4/5
In a nutshell:
A partially covered, rest open , restaurant with stunning views of the Sahyadri range of mountains, warm service and excellent food.
Short description- in case u r in a hurry
We did not remember hearing about this restaurant from our last trip. We only had food at terrazo and green table last time. This time when we checked in, we heard about mountain bar and also ‘chef’s table’
Chef’s table still remains a mystery to us - someone said ‘it is under renovation’, someone else said ‘it is just a table in terrazzo where chef serves the usual food tailor made to ur taste’ and the booklet in the hotel did of course mention chef’s table , so did the guy at the reception etc etc
It was like u hear speculations about size of yeti when u r in villages in the Himalayas and everyone’s description varies and contradicts!!!
We just got to hear that mountain bar has a nice view. So we decided to go there on the day we were checking out.
Great decision - we said to ourselves when we reached the place.
Beautiful view, sunny day, lovely breeze, wonderful food and great setting
The menu card was a one pager.
The guy serving us was very warm and nice. Was very good to chat with him.
Super loved the food that was being prepared after orders are placed - hence it was taking time but was outstanding.
Detailed description- in case u hv the time to njoy reading:
We looked at the menu and Seafood trio pizza caught our attention. We had got chatty with our server and he said something which was interesting - ‘this pizza is very plain, not spicy, it smells of seafood, foreigners love it, Indians usually do not.’ That sounded like a perfect seafood pizza to me and we ordered it.
The pizza turned out to b a rockstar, second best to my favourite seafood pizza at trattoria, taj president.
The pizza had a super thin base that was crisp and the surface feel like an atta roti. Loved it. Seafood listed on the menu card was not exactly what was on the pizza. Chef had put some wonderful salmon instead of tuna that was mentioned in the menu card.
There was a good concentration of seafood on the pizza. Flavours of seafood were oozing out. No distractions. No unnecessary hotness / spicing up. After a few bites I understood what the guy was trying to say.
The pizza was super juicy till the last bite. Taste was outstanding. Seasoning was perfect. Seafood pieces were optimally cooked and they were juicy too.
Rate it 4.75/5
Seafood pasta with shilimb chillies was made with home made multi grain pasta. I asked what is shillim chilly - did not get a confident answer back.
I guess it is chilly grown in the area.
The pasta being made from multigrain was a bit brittle but it cud not get better. They were soft and had a lovely texture. Once again seafood was in abundance and flavours of seafood were bursting out. The chillies made the dish hot, yet very enjoyable.
Though both were seafood dishes, the final flavours came out different.
Loved it and rate it 4.5/5
Fresh orange juice was as fresh and nice it could get, with some amount of pulp retained in the juice.
Chocolate fudge was not made at the mountain cafe but at the main bakery of the property.
The fudge in itself was very good but cud hv been better if there was a tinge if salt. The topping gave a twist to the dish but not as much to be outstanding.
Rate it 4/5
Overall rating of food at mountain cafe averages out to 4.4/5
Look forward to revisiting in our next trip and trying other dishes here
Awesome location... next to infinity pool. Western Ghat’s lush green background . Excellent service . Great food . Situated inside the sprawling 300 acre Sheraton property. This is the picture perfect watery hole for a relaxing drink .
The place to unwind
May 27 & 28 evening: This bar is next to the swimming pool. This is the place to relax at Hilton. They have those relaxing lounge sofas - total of 4 - 2 on one level and 2 on level below - overlooking the Western Ghats. There are tables at the bar level as well but to really relax with your drinks, the lounge sofas is the place. We were lucky to get it on one of the days.
The service can be a bit disappointing here. On both the days, there were only 2 folks managing the entire place. The management should have more servers here. Btw, this place shuts by 8 pm. Hilton should keep it open atleast till 10 pm.
Have been staying in this resort since two days and it’s absolute heaven. The location the peace of mind the food everything is just outstanding. In the afternoon we had lunch at the mountain bar. Ordered Indian paneer tikka pizza, pasta, frankie and all were mouth watering and up to the mark. Loved the service by Vinod as well. I hope you guys keep the same reputation going.
Every restaurant at the Hilton shillim has a unique and breathtaking view. This one is above expectations! Brilliantly made pizzas are a simple add on. The veg food is sort of better here!
Mountain bar and bistro was very nice. Happened to be at the Hilton for the weekend with family. We opted for the barbecue dinner at the pool bar. A nice open air restaurant by the pool. The evening is entertaining with live music and a decent dinner spread. I loved the soup section where I had the option to make my own soup as per taste. Both veg and non veg sections were nice. I loved the fish and the chicken preparations. Staff are courteous. Food taste is good.
The location of this restaurant is an outright knockout! We had been here for lunch and the weather was just perfect. However, I later realized that this place would be beautiful around the sunset.
We just had a veg pizza (served in a rectangle form) here which tasted okay – but our focus was mainly on the view that this restaurant provided.
Moolah – Rs.950 Inc. taxes for the veg pizza.
Pros: Wide-ranging customizable menu, very helpful and cheerful staff, cleverly positioned restaurant at an altitude giving flawless views of the infinity pool and the mountains on another side.
Recommended – Skip your lunch one day and enjoy a sun-downer at this bistro during your stay!
Went here for a beer in the evening. It's a good place. Open to air. The mountains view is stunning. Feel like sitting here for a long time. But in monsoons it's pretty chilly here. Tried the pizza which is square and comes with vegetables. The recipe is far from original but it's what you call chatpata pizza with salt sprayed lavishly. It's thin and crisp.
Let's start with the view, located next to the infinity pool on the resort & overlooking the Sahyadri range, you can hardly ask for a better setting. No words would be sufficient to describe the experience of enjoying your food here.
The food itself is great too, we tried the greek salad which had the freshest veggies & an awesome feta along with a Margherita . Imagine a crispy thin base cooked to perfection on a wood-fired oven dribbled with extra virgin olive oil and a preparation that oozes taste in every mouthful. While the chef did a phenomenal job, I personally feel, the ingredient sourcing deserves tons of credit for the quality of food.
Amazing pizza options to choose from, in an amazing serene atmosphere with fresh and pure air to breathe. It satisfies your appetite and your soul.
The infinity pool is breathtaking with the best sunsets that you could witness.
Must try place.
The view from this place is fantastic. You can just lie there watching the sunset and the lush green mountains a around.
The staff is really courteous and help you click really good pictures as well 😃.
The restaurant closes really early by 8 pm. But you can enjoy an early dinner there. We had some truffle fries and spaghetti pasta. Both were really good. However the pasta had artichokes and it was a turn off when you have to every time remove the dry sticks from your mouth.
Other than that it was a pleasant experience.
Went for evening drinks on Saturday evening and breakfast buffet on Sunday Morning.. The buffet breakfast has similar menu as the main restaurant that gets full during peak times around 9:30 to 10;00 am.
For less crowd go around 8:00am. Timings 7:00 to 11:00. Views of Sayandhri mountains are great. At night during winter they have heated charcoal for warmth outside Terrace area
The tartufo pizza was delicious! If you like thin crust and tons of scarmoza cheese, it's ideal! Mr Arvind, our server, was very helpful. The ambience with the stars and cool air was just what you need!
Ambience is good, awesome view of western ghats. Pizza and sandwiches were good. Falafel was not. Morning and evening are both good. As at the reception of the place is open or not before going
Super amazing place to be and enjoy the ambience pool side
The Shillim Estate and Resort offers various dining choices. This one by the pool has outstanding views and great food
Great view and good finger food options. Thinnest crust pizza
Aptly named. Amazing views of Nature. Amazing staff and really fresh and healthy food. For nature lovers it's a 5 star marvel.
Place where you can spend hours just starting at the Sahyadri Ranges with a drink on your table and a beautiful pool beside. Just loved it
