Their prawns thali and fish fry are a must try. They have plenty of options incase you have anyone who would prefer vegetarian. Don't forget to end your meal with some ukadiche Modak and puranpoli served with hot milk and ghee.

It was nice experience in Kath n Ghat..I went there on my birthday.. As they saw cake with us they asked us shall we bring Aarthi thali ..(thats what kath n ghat do on birthday unlike other hotels where only birthday music is played) I don't know about other people but in my family this is kind of ritual on every birthday (we call it aukshan). and as I stay away from my family in mumbai. I felt really happy as my friends did that for me...
Now about food-
We ordered misal shots and mushroom cutlets for veg starter. And agri fry prawns for nonveg
All these 3 starters was good but agri fry prawns was amazing... Prawns seems fresh, there was no foul smell (which happens in some other hotels) and masala was also very tasty.
For main course we ordered kaju usal , veg biryani, bhajniche wade, chicken souji masala, rice bhakri...
We dint liked kaju usal as it was sweet and had lots of coconut and no lal mirch powder ,it was light green in color.
Veg biryani was ok ok.
Chicken souji was awesome.. spicy and tasty as souji is expected to be.. wade n bhakri was good..
We also ordered mocktails
Musk melon punch was ok ok..
We dint liked white devil.. it was very sweet n spicy ..we tried for first time but dint liked the combination of lychee, sugar and chilli

Ambience is maharashtrian culture style ..(kolhapur cha rajwadyat gelya sarkha vatla) marathi music is played continuously in low volume.

Loved the service and ambience here. The food was great and they have lot of options to try from different regions of maharashtra. They offer Malvani, Saoji, Agri, Kolhapuri gravy and sukka items. Also we tried chicken vada, they had Chicken karanji, aloo wadi, kothimbir wadi and a lot of other veg options of gravies too. If you are craving good Maharashtrian food this is the place to visit.

As name suggests, the restaurant serves authentic genuine Maharashtrian food from Kath and Ghat area. Means area from sea cost, middle Maharashtra and upper Maharashtra covering Nagpur region. Menu covers all type of Maharashtrian food speciality. The food was genuinely made, perfectly prepared and was having very nice test. After lunch 'pan' is served which is very interesting to eat and will not get anywhere else. The Ambience is very cool and cozy with nice interior decoration. From the coast (Agri, Malvani) to the plateau (Desh, Kolhapuri, Savji, Khandesh), this place has it all. This restaurant is on eastern expressway near by nitin company stop which is easily accessible. The interiors are good totally concentrate Indian theme and the walls were decorated with navvari saree and paintings. . The menu has lots of MaharashtrIan food items which are worth trying. I was here with my family, the place was very crowded as it was Sunday. You need to reserve a table prior if you are in a group. We started off with soup, mainly the tambda and pandhara rassa. Try the tambda rassa ✔️
In starters , we ordered for chicken Karanji, bombil and surmai fry. Don't forget to try the chicken Karanji. A twist on normal Karanji with chicken stuffing in it. Worth trying ✔️

Last week went to this hotel. And i must tell you i was very impressed by the food and service. We ordered bombil fry and chicken karanja which was tasty. Then for main course i ordered prawns thali and my husband ordered chicken malwani Thali. Both were super delicious. Highly recommended.

Pandhara rassa was awesome in taste. In thali they have Chicken sukkah, Chicken masala and limited Tambada and Pandhara rassa and chapatis/Bhakari and rice. As they have provided limited rassa in kolhapuri thali is was little disappointed for us. As kolhapuri thalis are always served with Unlimited padhara and tambada rassa.
Ambiance was royal.

So this place Kath n ghat . . . This place is like a typical Wada (Houses at Western Maharashtra) wooden structure and carving work on every piece of wood . . . In non-veg we ordered सावजी chicken, authentic chicken dish from Nagpur which was too spicy 🔥 normal chapti, roti, Bhakri with all this food everything was perfect food was tastey and delicious chicken was awesome. . Butter milk and सोलकढी drink made with coconut milk bit spice will also fall in love .

Kath N Ghat is very prime fine dine restaurant in the locality and being a specialty restaurant there are lot of expectations.
I have visited the restaurant a couple of times the ambience is very good and pleasing with exposed texture's in interiors the service is on point and fast and the taste and quality of food is also nice but the main food attraction of the restaurant was the Taat (thali) which is now removed from the menu it was loaded and full of flavors that taste's just amazing but still the authentic regional food and flavors remains same in other food items.
If you want to taste and enjoy Maharashtrian food the this is the place.

The food has a different taste from the normal taste of any restaurant.In the middle of the city you have something which is out of the crowd.

A Typical Maharastrian Restuarant, coastal and the ghats.
This place serves mind boggling food! The taste of every single item we had there was just plain yummy! We had two thalis. Khandeshi chicken thaali and Nagpuri Mutton thaali. The thaali consisted 3 variants of Chicken/ mutton dishes, chicken thaali had a Cutlet, with chapati or bhakri with solkadhi! Trust me, the spread might sound less, but the quantity was worthy and the taste was perfect. The curries were perfect, the rotis soft. We ordered prawns dry salad to go with. All were perfect. The ambience is beautiful with a very royal enterance and ample of comfortabls seating areas. Service was quick but needed a little bit more of politeness. Jus be a little bit more warm with people who aren't Maharashtrians. I have grownup on this cuisine and love it . Will be back for more seafood and better service expectations.

Typical Marathi restaurant this is with outstanding Marathi food and with Marathi background music. The service is commendable and the waiters are nice and polite. The quality of the food is fantastic and regarding the quantity, I would say that I had never seen such a huge quantity anywhere. Most of the food was taken home parcel which we ordered on our table due to the huge quantity. The food was fresh and the taste was really awesome. The chicken was nicely cooked and the fish was also good including the veg items we ordered. Another good part was the ambience, it was amazing and we loved it. I think this outlet is good to have food with your family members. So I would urge you all to visit this restaurant soon and njoyyyyy the mouthwatering taste of the food...........!!!!!!!!!!😋😋
Been there yesterday after doing my duty of casting my precious vote for a nice meal with my family. We ordered ravas malvani curry, mutton khichda which came with tamda rassa,. We also ordered tender coconut curry and guava koshimbir. Tasty food Worth the money.
It's a Maharashtrian restaurant, the taste is really nice. Ambience is also good. But, all the dishes are very costly and also the staff service is too slow.
Kath N Ghat is a hotel which serves food from coastal as well as mountain region. The tambda pandhra rassa served here is best. Traditional spices and authentic food is their speciality. If you are a non-veg and spicy food lover then visit this place.
Visit to this place had been on my list for quite a few days but missed it every time... One weekend perputual decision to visit this place and bang-on ! I was delightfully taken away with there amazing Maharashtrian cuisine....my heart was filled with pride looking at the maharashtrian delicacies and spread over... My BAE surprise visit us this April and I made a knot to take her here... And she (classy yet certified chef in herself) was equally happy by the delicacies.. puranpoli to be specific 🙂

Very tasty prawn curry and fry fish. It is little expensive though. They can increase the food menu as well. They can introduce thalis with such amazing taste that they already have.

Awesome place with a royal ambience . Staff was Polite and well behaved. Food was good and great service. They have wide variety of authentic Maharashtrian dishes on the menu. I was very glad to see some fish dishes too on the menu. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

On a late friday night, me and my friend visited this restaurant. This place is adorned with carefully selected eclectic antiques to present one with a rustic milieu. The menu was equally interesting. So much to choose from the menu, that it took us more time to make a order. They were kind enough to help us choose from the menu. We went for tandalaachi bhakri and kombadicha loncha and agri prawn masala. The service was prompt and food was "fantabulous fingerlicking" good. The Bhakri was melt in mouth texture. Loncha was a dry preparation yet very succulent and fresh chicken flavoured with all good stuff. The prawn masala was perfectly spiced (not too "jhajhanit" as the server describes it). They also have variety of pappads. Only restaurant that has complimentary barley puffs on the table. Food cooked and served with this passion definitely made me a fan of mahasrashtrian sea food and will definitely have me coming back to try more.

Kath and ghat is one of the restaurants which will give you a feeling of dining in the olden times. They have all equipments made of brass, even the table mat. 😱 They serve a variety of food maharashtrian being their specialty. We the most crunchiest surmai fry and the juiciest crab curry. They had a lot of other stuff we wanted to try but we gave up after hogging to the crab itself. Thank you kath n ghat for the amazing meal.

I just loved this place for it's Ambience,
The royal entrance and then it has huge seating space. If you don't get space down you can go up and seat. The decoration was on point. The maharastrian style Navaari saree was frames and Decorated.
The food was served with bronze utensils.
We all were just impressed with the Ambience , so talking about the food.
For soup we had -
Carb soup which was not that great. Sawas soup good. And all the soup had small pieces of flesh.
For starter we had -
Prawns fry was yummy ,chicken karanja was good ,it means karanja stuffed with chicken. But the quantity of everything was less.
For main course we had -
Chicken gravy, actually I don't remember the name. But it was super spicy. We actually had to order ice cream after that.
For dessert we had -
Puranpoli ice cream was superb.
Loved the place as it was pure and authentic Maharashtrian style. The Ambience was in point , Decorated with Navaari saree in the frames.

This was the second visit in an years time, I went here to celebrate our anniversary and all we wanted was to have that authentic Khandeshi meal experience. Very few place in thane serve Khandeshi (North Maharashtrian Meal) and we wanted the best non veg experience. And no better than Kath n Ghat..A visual treat for eyes and food for the stomach both at same place..We were so lost in the ambience and food we hardly took pictures of both.
Our primary visit here was for Khandeshi style Kadaknath chicken. Now you may ask what the hell is Kadaknath Chicken. A rare breed of chicken which is all Black..Yes you heard it right (No we hadn't coloured the chicken black) it's a variety of chicken found in central India (only species of Indian Bird which has GI Tag). It's the chicken which is entirely black (even bones) due to melanin. The chicken is high in protein low in fats (Perfect for a fitness freak like me). The bird is sought after and way to expensive than normal chicken (for obvious reasons). It is quite hardy creature with resistance to diseases which kill aother chickens (Perfect!) And all Indian. Although a similar breed called Ayam cemani is available in indonesia but both species are different.
Having eaten the chicken with the gravy from Central India (where these chickens originate) previously and me also being from the same region I knew the taste hence this was the dish we would be ordering here. The menu here had a dedicated set course entirely for Kadaknath which could feed four ppl but due to operational reasons removed it and now customize your meal with Kadaknath (that's fantastic in my books). I.e they use Kadaknath chicken and serve it in the gravy you like..Kolhapuri/Khandeshi etc and mild/spicy as you like which is perfect.
I recommend ordering a Khandeshi style Kadaknath chicken gravy in spicier varient (with oil tavang or layer on it). It's spicy but that damn yummy with the meat of Kadaknath (which is not too fatty but lean) and bones giving it the perfect chicken dish. The gravy will have our layer on it and will be spicy but will compliment the gamyness of the chicken meat. The quantity is good for 2 but for a family of four I recommend ordering 2 dishes of this (Price of RS.1000/- per dish..well worth it in my books).
Order one bottle (4 full glasses) of sol kadhi (Kokum (Garcinia Indica) + coconut milk beverage) to go down with the spice of the dish and order Kombadi Wade (fluffy fried Indian bread made with rice/ragi/wheat flour). It looks a like a doughnut but more yummier and savoury. This Wade goes well with the chicken gravy (1 plate will have 4 Wade). This is the max you need to eat.
The chicken gravy is perfectly made with chicken being cooked properly (Yes the bones do have black colour) and combine it with Kombadi Wade or Jowar Bhakri and you are in for meal bliss. Sol kadhi to help you digest it all up 😍. Do ask the Maitre'd for suggestions in Khandeshi meal he is quite helpful in that.
My anniversary was made perfect with this meal with my family. And I would be definitely returning to try the dish once again alongwith other varients soon.
Kath n Ghar is actually best for those who like sea food and maharashtrian dishes.... service is average , u will have to wait for 20 mins for a dish that is the thing which made me upset .rest everything is nice

A place for a foodie with taste for typical Maharashtrian food. You get all kinds of preparations such as Malvani, Khandeshi, kokani, my special Nagpur Saoji preparation. Ambience is very good. Price wise bit on higher side. But still worth a try for their taste for your taste buds.

Went here for lunch with family and I can say my search for Maharashtrian cuisine comes to end with this restaurant!!
Very rarely i give 5 starts to any restaurant, but this one deserves every bit of it. Right from the exterior to interiors, hospitality and food presentation,quality and quantity.
I ordered the following dishes all those are highly recommended!!
1. Kothimbir wadi- Coriander mixed in besan and deep fried. One of my all time favorites. The taste,texture was just perfect. Crunchy on outside and soft inside.
2. Matar karanje- Traditional karanji with savoury filling made of green peas. Flavours were bit subtle but tatses best with the red chutney which comes along with it.
3. Shahalyachi bhaji- Thick juliens of tender coconut prepared with masala! Lip smacking!!
4. Khandeshi sev bhaji- Spicy red thick gravy with sev. All time favourite.
5. Cocojack- This mocktail was bit sweet for my taste but yummy! Wont recommend this if you are having a heavy meal as this mocktail is bit on a heavy side.
6. Tikhat amba- Must try mocktail. As the name suggest, this mocktail is spicy but sweet at same time. Very appetizing.
Awesome food & very nice ambiance. The people there are polite and suggest good food as per your requirement. My first visit to authentic Maharashtrian restaurant. It was a great experience.

Visited this plush restaurant with the family post my wedding rituals! The ambience is themed with culture and styles from all over maharastra. Peshwai swords, frames with paintings of Pune and so on. The food and water is served in copper cutlery. Service is prompt and efficient. The flavours were distinct and loved the presentation. Do try their tender coconut soup. The sol kadhi was brilliant and definitely a food for the soul craving konkani food. It's something totally unique that I've had in maharashtrian cuisine. Want to try their non vegetarian dishes too. Definitely worth a visit!

We were travelling and stopped here as we had heard a lot of good reviews from Non-maharashtrian friends. We wanted to have a quick, filling lunch and go home. The menu here is elaborate. We knew most of the dishes. So we quickly choose main course (1 veg & 1 non-veg), Solkadi bottle, 2 types of mocktails, 1 plate of prawns for my son, 2 types of desert & icecream.
The decor is amazing. Since we were the first customers on a Sunday at 12:30pm we were seated in the ground floor dinning area. While leaving I made it a point to just go upstairs and take a peep. The upper floor dinning space is huge and lavish. Perfect for big groups. The ceiling to floor paintings, the huge chandeliers and all wood work gives it a rich feel.
On the table along with metal table mats and copper glasses is a bottle of puffed wheat flakes lightly spiced. My kids loved those most.
The food was good. Perfectly spiced and you could make out the different types of preparations and spices in each dish. Unlike in other places where the base of gravy is the same. The mocktails were good. The Solkadi was a little bitter. The prawns were ok-ok.
The desert items were really nice but just to serve them they took a lot of time. The mango ice cream was with natural mango taste and was yumm.
The food preparation took a long time. The serving also was taking long. We didnt realise there was a huge waiting queue outside. But the waiters and staff were chilled and didnt try to quicken their service.
In the bill, the Prawns were the expensive item. The other dishes were priced correctly.
Suggestion to the team: Please organise yourself. A meal which could have been finished in 45 mins took 1.5hrs. We were glad we came early but the people waiting outside would have been grumpy.
Servers really nice malvani dishes ...with pomfret and prawn is recommended..gavthi chicken handi tastes great with chicken wade..portion of food is nice..the ambiance just tops all that👍

Great food especially mutton sukkha. Black chicken (Kadaknath) was overpriced for the dish quantity even though its rare meat. Service and management is quite terrible which makes food overpriced due to the inconvenience you suffer. Worth a try on offday.

Amazing place to visit with family and it's comfortable place for senior citizens as well as they have facilities for them. We had non vegetarian food which was very very fresh and tasty. Ambience is also great and staff is also very polite and friendly.

Kath n Ghat is situated on Highway and hence it is easier to find. Also it amazing exterior is amazing and you can't miss to take a picture there.
The interiors are good as well. They have a family section. The interiors are made of wood and look like a ancient Maharashtrian palace. The cutlery is also give you an authentic feel.
The menu here is extensive. Amazing options for both vegetarian and non vegan options!
Quantity wise it is ok but the food tastes great! They also have a delectable Seafood and Goan food menu as well.

What a fantastic day to spend at Kath n Ghat. It was Dusherra and we booked a table for 9pm. While we got there it was almost full, although we did get our table. The food was yumm. Try their prawn gravies and bombil fry along with peas pattice. Their drink, sol kadi, buttermilk , totally refershing and worth every sip. Their crab coriander soup deliciously served with drama. You ought to capture it on a camera. Next, will try their Thali. Thats not all, the icing on the cake, well it was a dessert...a freshly rolled out puran poli served with ghee and warm milk. Totally sold out!!😀🤗🤗

It's superb the variety of dishes severd from curries to even fish pickles.
Nagpuri, Kolhapuri, Malvani, Goan you name it and the authenticity is on point.
They even serve the Khadaknath chicken (black chicken including the meat bones), which is quite expensive but I haven't seen any other restaurants serving it.

The place is just bang opposite Korum Mall, quite a classic medivial theme to it, me & my mom had come here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch so the place wasn’t tooo crowded. We had pre booked the table online so so we managed to get a place for two! The place was still quite filled up on an afternoon though!
We started off with the classic SolKaadi which is the most needed thing when your having fish! We literally asked for two bottles cause it’s so darn yummy!
Now for the starters! We wanted typical malvan fish!
Pomfrett Fry, Prawns Fry & Bombil Fry with green chutney was an amazing delight, crispy with tempting with every bite! The starters were quite heavy though but was worth it 😀♥️
Main course was just the usual rice bhakri roti and Prawns curry & desert was Coconut Modak! I myself am a HUGE modak fan and if you want to end the session with something yummy this is the best deal I tell you 😀😍 In all an amazing experience to be here mainly for fish! The ambiance and service was also quite fast which is the most important thing! They always asked about how the food is and is there anything else we need.
Oh and yes MOST IMPORTANTLY:
THERE IS NO SERVICE ONCE YOU ENTER INSIDE, so mind you social media bugs & callers there’s no escaping this! 🙈😁 I literally had to wait until we’re done and finally once we were out my phone was back!YOU CANT use your cellphone in anyway possible though! But that’s alright, it’s just one of those moments where we must spend atleast sometime away from our phones and look above to have the classic experience!

Have been there 2 times it's a decent restaurant with a maratha style ambience with all the rich plates n glasses n heavy chairs with an ancient theme look..Looks good as you get a seat.We had ordered chicken dishes, Mutton Dishes.The taste was kind of similar to the homely food what we eat at home.Basically it was a homely experience.Overall the experience was GOOD & SATISFYING.Be there too lip smack some really tasty Maharashtrian Food.
Great place to have maharashtrian cuisine. Very rare thing to find in Maharashtra is a restaurant which serves khandeshi, vidarbha, malvani, kolhapuri cuisines in one place. Taste is authentic for mutton and fish dishes. We didn't have chicken yesterday. I could have given five stars but for the non availability of thali i.e. taat on Saturdays and Sundays.....which makes the food very expensive as ala karte menu is a bit on higher side. Nevertheless it's a must to visit this place for every foodie.
Excellent Ambience. Very good food quality. Too much variety of Maharashtrian dishes. We had ordered Saoji chicken Nagpur style & bhajani vade. It took 30 minutes for preparation. Result is so tasty. Bhajani vade 4 pieces were tasty & sufficient for single person. Solakadi was delicious too. Will go again for trying another dishes not tried till date. Thali is not served on Saturday.

This is one of the amazing place I have been to. The ambience is exceptionally good and beautiful as per Maharashtrian tradition. The name "Kath and Ghat" itself suggests from Coastal region to Ghat region because they serve typical Maharastrian cuisine from all around maharashtra (including non-veg) which is very difficult to find in maharastra itself. Staff is prompt and very helpful. We ordered for Saoji Chicken Masala(Nashik speciality), Rice Bhakri, Solkadi, Peru Koshimbir (Guava raita), Chicken Biryani and for dessert Kharwas (Colostrum Milk Pudding). Everything I tried turned out to be delicious. I am definitely going to keep coming here again and again.
I totally suggest this place for lovely couples and families too.

It's a typical maharastrian restaurant situated besides the national highway. The taste of the food is good. The sea foods you get here is full of different flavours.

So, we were here on a weekend & were instantly excited seeing the amazing variety of thali's on the menu. Unfortunately we could not dig into either as Thali's are served here only Monday to Friday. Please make note.

Food: We ordered kothimbir wadi, aloo qadi, Mathha ( traditional spicy buttermilk), lhandeshi sev bhaji, bhindi, mixed lentil wade & bajri bhakri. Each item cooked to perfection & tasted like perfection.
Ambience: A very earthy & basic ambience. They have a lot of decorative accessories which match the menu & the cuisine they serve.
Service: This is the one negative feedback i might have. They are low on staff so it definately gets a little difficult to manage over the weekends.
But overall, a must try for all maharashtrian cuisine lovers.

Kath N ghat is usually known for Maharashtrian food. Must confess it's almost authentic how Maharashtrians make. Eligent ambience and comfortable seats are provided for groups as well. Staff is very cooperative.
Authentic place for authentic food. Everything looks traditional from plates to roof. Must try stuffed bombil, Amboli with any gravy and an unique complimentary sweet instead of mouth freshner.

Ambience - The entrance of restaurant completely amused me. If u have to wait, the small waiting lounge would bring smile to people who are into art. The ceiling and one wall is adorned with pics of famous Ajanta cave frescos. A smile comes to ur face once u start recognising the paintings u have seen in those Ajanta caves.
Hanging from the ceiling are three samai..with madakini in acrobatic pose..Nice one..!!!
The rest of the two wall have RMP record pics of some legendary Marathi artists - for eg Kishoritai Amonkar and Sudhir Phadke, etc. The seating arrangement is kind of classy one with a semi imperial / royal touch to it.
Food - I ordered for Khandeshi mutton thali...and was left devouring every katori that was left.. At the end I was too full but not completely satiated. The food is amazing delicious.
Desserts - was one choice Ukadiche modak... and it was served with ghee in a seperate small wati. Break the modak tip, pour copious amount of ghee and just eat it... U will have one of most divine foodgasms ever...!!
Price - its a premium place...!!!
Staff - Courteous, humble and good.
Overall experience - Just go for it. Not to be missed place.

Chef claims 10/10 on food. Every thing was so damn good. Appetisers were spot on. Mains were delicious. Portion quantity and the quality of food amazed me. Not only the chefs but also the front of house staff took full marks. Knowledge about the menu and their friendliness got them all the points. Well done team and will definitely recommend it to everyone.

Kath N ghat is the perfect answer to a surreal Maharashtrian food experience . With foods from all major portions of the state one is spoilt for choice . The place has a heavy bent towards meat lovers but some of the Veg delicacies are to die for . My fav is Kolhapuri chicken and the Surmai Rava Fry . Deli table and succulent pieces of meat served with Kombadi wadey are an absolute relish . A must go on the list
Reading the reviews and the food menu, my mouth already started watering. The restaurant definitely did not disappoint me. The crab soup is a must try. We ordered the Agri prawns, Agri Surmai, Stuffed Bombil and Chicken Roast for starters. They were all perfectly seasoned and cooked. I loved the Sol kadhi. It wasn’t too spicy and just the way I like it. We ended the meal with Jack fruit and Puran poli icecream and I can happily say my meal ended on a high note. I enjoyed my meal. My mother and aunt are vegetarian and they weren’t very happy with the veg options.
By far the best place for modaks and puranpolis . Never tasted any better in all the years of eating at the Maharashtrian houses I know of ..keep up the quality of food

I don’t usually write reviews but this place deserves one. The love of the owner is seen in the food and the clearly of what he wants to deliver is seen right from the interiors to the food to the plating to the selection of menu. Fabulous jobs. The mock tails are amazing as per the recipe but are not prepared well. Just that needs correction but that won’t take a single star away from you. Great going. I have traveled 20 km thrice in last 15 days just to have a scrumptious meal.

Kath n Ghat as name suggests is has all varieties in food from kath (konkan) to Ghat. We have tried bombil fry & chicken with bhakri. And yes i loved the both. In sweets, i'll recommend Puranpoli. Its as authentic Maharashtrian desert. They will serve it with Ghee (Toop). Its really good.
Ambiance? Wht to say about it...you must have get the idea by seeing pictures. They have built it like a huge palace with so many antique props. So basically its very Instagramable.
Service is quite good... Overall ill rate this as 4.5/5

A very nice place to eat a typical Maharashtrian thali.. The traditional look is so great, feels like u are sitting in some maharaja's mahal...pure way to enjoy ur dish
Apart from the look, the food quality is great, service is good.. Many varieties are seen in the dishes from konkan food to sahyadhri food. My favorite dish was kothimbir wadi.. A typical dish flavored so well I also enjoyed sea food and corn salad

Very good maharashtrian food, be it sea food or chicken. Though there was Mutton I'll try it next time. But the taste is so familiar Maharashtrian which you would miss else where. I tried Saoji chicken and chicken kolhapuri. Both were very good. The preparation was in desi chicken. They provide 3 varieties of preparation 1. Broiler 2. Desi 3. Kadaknath.

Happen to go here on the day of the mumbai bandh for dinner and still had to wait 15 minutes to get a table. Speaks of the popularity of the place and judging by the number of people that were coming in, its no wonder that this is one of the best new places in Thane recently.
This place is all about Maharashtrian cuisine with a little Goan thrown in. The menu is well categorised based on different local cuisines of Maharashtra lIke Kolhapuri, Khandeshi and Malvani. All of us went for a different thali (Tat) with choices of fish, mutton or chicken cooked in the cuisine you want. We finished off the meal with puranpoli which came with an addition dollop of ghee and it was sumptuous.
One visit does not do justice to this place and it was eye opener for me as I was introduced to so much variety in Maharashtrian food. The place is done up very well with beautiful paintings and it even has a bookshelf. Service could be faster but the place was full that day and its understandable. Would love to visit again.

I have had this pandhara rassa all the 5 times and it never fails to please me. A mild coconut based dish served hot with some shreaded mutton and fried onion, its a humble dish. Not very spicy yet very flavourful.
Agri kolambi was the best dish. The prawns were tender, with lots of fried garlic and an amazing masala. It was difficult to resist eating it.
Barlela bombil had a nice filling of jawla and green coconut paste.
Mori che mutton was a very different dish for me. Again a good pick as the masala was a perfect blend of spices and efforts.
The accompaniments bhajniche vade is served hot and appetising too.
Their solkadi is very refreshing and cool and a good way to end the meal.
The decor is great. Their plates, table mats, glasses of water are nicely done to give it an ethnic rajwada feel.
The staff was always warm and eager to suggest new dishes.

Finally managed to get into this restaurant...after 3 earlier attempts... Always full... So that's a good sign to begin with ...basically a place for non veg food.. But surprisingly lot of options for vegetarians too... We tried 3 or 4 vegetarian dish and all of them were brilliant... Special thanks to advait ...who took good care of us.. Very polite and knowledgeable about the menu they serve... Will surely come back again... Keep it up...
A great place with a fort like ambience that adds to the kind of of food served.Food here is from various parts of Maharashtra.Right from the coastal region to the western ghats u get it all covered under one roof.Malwani, Kolhapuri,Saoji, khandeshi and sarswat delicacies to name a few.
PS: quantity is less,u might get disappointed with the portions served for the price one pays,but nevertheless I should mention that the food is fresh especially fish.Go for modaks, the best that you can get.Good service cordial staff are the add-ons too.

We visited Kath N Ghat last week. The ambience is traditional Maharashtrian style. The food is served in brass plates. The Soup, starters, main course and sweets that we ordered were all tasty. I would recommend Savaji chicken and ambolis that are super soft. The staff is courteous and helpful. The service is quick. I just wished they had more vegetarian options.
Visited this place with college friends last month. Kath an Ghat serves traditional authentic maharashtrian cousine with a typical maharashtrian ambience. The food is awesome for people who prefer typical maharashtrian food and quite different for non-maharashtrians, simply an awesome food ride from different places of Maharashtra. Apart from food I was in love with the Maharashtrian style cuttlery specially the glasses to serve water. Even the mukhwas was served in style and was quite different it was something made up of coconut. Ambience was quite good with traditional decorations. The staff was good and interactive too as they kept explaining me the dishes throughout. Visiting with friends was like a cherry on top.. Truly had an amazing time...

We went here for lunch keeping in mind their amazing seafood to try out. It has got amazing ambience with a huge entrance door attracting its customer. It's a kid friendly place. This place is mostly famous for its Maharashtrian food items. We opted for seafood and their food quality really amazed us. We tried Surmai fry,Prawns fry and fish thali.They offered friendly service. Quality of food was upto the mark. Reasonable rates. Highly recommend you to book your tables on weekends. Best place for family dine in.

Right from a traditional styled exterior to the fine detailing on the walls, it’s a pleasant ride tasting the delicacies of Maharashtra. I would honestly give the place a 5+ rating for its food, service & ambience. I had Pandhra Rassa Soup, Mutton Karanji, fried prawns malvani style & surmai aagri curry with rice amboli. Topped it up with sol kadi. All the picks were authentic in taste & presentation. A special mention to the chutneys served. Exemplary Service & informative about portions. Finally had to pack off the leftovers. All of it was nicely packed for me in eco friendly takeaway containers. Keep up the good flavour ! Cheers. Jai Maharashtra!

However the service needs major improvement. The staff is courteous but our steward was over casual & insisted on pushing his choices of menu on us .
We tried the stuffed Bombil it was really nice however we wished the portion size was a bit bigger.
We had the mutton Karanji it's something different & worth a try .
The Malvani prawns was nice but over coated with rawa.
The kolambi pulao was mind blowing. MODERATELY spiced soft prawns excellent I must say .
They serve you a complimentary mukhwas which is presented beautifully in a black spoon with a cube of some jelly & coconut sweet.

Kath n Ghat is a Maharashtrian theme restaurant. You can try Khandeshi, Vidarbha, Malvani style veg as well as non veg food. Ambience and service is good. We tried Aagri prawns, Sukka Chicken, Kaju Usal, Mutton Saavji with Tamda and Pandhra Rassa. Sukka chicken and Mutton Saavji with Aamboli was really good. You won't get exact taste and spicey level region wise but it is similar to that style with moderate spices. Kharvas we tried for dessert , that was also Good. Price wise I can say value for money.
Went here on a weekday lunch with family and loved the ambience of this place. Done up like a royal dining area with a lot of historic elements and some old pictures.
The entrance has a massive door which in itself is very classy!
Coming to Food, we were served solkadi shots which were nice. we ordered Corn patties, prawns Rawa fry, khandeshi chicken and rotis.
The starters were awesome, but the chicken curry was very salty. We asked them to check and redo it but it still tasted same.
For desserts we had Kharwas, this is good! Wasn’t too sweet or overpowered with masalas.

There was a significant and wide range of variety and i loved every single item I ordered. The service was a bit slow although its all forgotten when you order the spicy chicken malvani or the authentic saoji chicken. Also loved the way they served their pandhara rassa like a soup. After Metkut, I believe it's one of the most popular Maharashtrian cuisine restaurants in Thane. I went with my family especially to taste their non vegetarian menu and it was quite exquisite.
Since there are a quite a few ways one can go wrong with cooking non-vegetarian food, this restaurant does not disappoint at all. We had different dishes in fish and chicken and both were well-cooked and perfectly spiced.
The service is good and prompt and helpful. One of the things I like about a sit-down diner is the balanced attention a server gives you from a distance without interrupting your meal or without being out of sight or reach. This place gives this kind of service.
One must really try different curries here for sure. You know it's a good chef at work when even the curries which you might have thought would taste the same, leave a distinguished flavour on your palate. Especially the pomfret curry.

I visited the place yesterday with my family. The ambiance was good and the serving staff had knowledge about the food being served. We ordered Chicken vade, Bombil Stuff which was good and later on Saoji Chicken and Chicken ball biriyani which was of good taste. Only suggestion is to reduce the oil content in Saoji Chicken. Rest no issues. Would surely visit this place again.

Also they have an extensive knowledge about their menu. Food was a pendulum few dishes where excellent saujee mutton, fish fry, zunka bhakri etc etc. but the prawns Pulav was horrible! That’s the only negative in my whole dining experience. Highly recommended!
I loved the Authentic Maharashtrian food here.. I just tried the Daal Khichdi but it really was something which gives you a feeling of home-cooked food. The service is good and prompt.

This review was long pending. Visited Kath n Ghat on a sunday and the waiting area was nothing short of a mumbai local. After a long and hungry 45min wait we got seated. The entire restaurant is themed around maharashtrian cuisine. The dabba apla apla concept sounded great (where one can choose between a malvani/vidharban/konkani/kolhapuri/khandeshi thali),but unfortunately for us it wasnt available that day. We ended up ordering the following
beverages - tikhat aamba, peru chatka, mattha
starters - surmai fry
main course - malvani chicken sukka, malvani chicken masala, goan fish curry, amboli, rice bhakri and steamed rice
dessert - kharwas
We loved every single thing we ordered especially the surmai fry and the beverages. The only drawback was the service, which was quite slow. But overall its a great concept and a must try if you love the cuisine.
A a very good place for authentic Maharashtrian veg/ non veg food. We tried the Saoji Chicken and Mutton Thecha on the non veg side and dal tadka aluwadi , gajar halwa and Modak from the veg options. The food was awesome

The concept is very interesting..food from across maharashtra..from the kath or coast to the ghat or hills. Was keen to try it after i heard that it is a sister restaurant of metkut which serves awesome marathi food although veg.
The interiors and the exteriors both are done in a very grand way and you can easily spot it on the service road. It is quite spacious too.
We ordered the kothimbir vadi and surmai fry along with the pandhara rassa for appetizers followed by saoji chicken and agri chicken with chapatis and vadas for the main course.
The appetizers were all good..a tasty kothimbir vadi, fresh surmai and a very flavourful and perfectly spiced pandhara rassa. The main course was delicious too but just a little spicy and oily which maybe adds to the taste.
For dessert we had the delicate kharwas which was just the right amount of sweet.
Would love to go back and try out some more dishes.
Visited this restaurant on my Moms Bday. We wanted to have good seafood. Considering thane has less options serving Maharashtrian SeaFood delicasies. I researched a few places and decided to try out this one. For starters we ordered, Bombil fry and Mutter karanji and both were delicious. We also tried their Rawa and Tawa fried prawns and that too was mouth watering.
For main course we ordered khandeshi chicken gravy. It was a bit salty and asked them to change it. The staff was courteous and changed the gravy for us.
Since I like seafood I also tried their Sode Vangi and it was lip smacking. We ordered Bhakari and Chapati in breads and were good. Last course desert we ordered Kharwas and that was Just perfect way to end our meal.

I visited this place two days back and was awestruck by its ambience and interiors. I would recommend this place for families to celebrate special occasions. It is a family restaurant with no bar option. They serve maharashtrian style food. The preparation is awesome.
We ordered fish starters (surmai fry, bangada fry, prawns fry in agri style, bombil fry). Surmai, bangada and prawns was fresh and was prepared in good masala. Bombil we found not to be fresh. In main course we ordered chicken in malvani style with rice bhakri. The chicken cooked was fresh and bhakri was hot and soft. Lastly we ordered solkadi which was not so strong enough but it was good.
We found service to be on slower side and the same was shared with courteous staff. They should make sure they have atleast one person for one table which will make things easy as well.
The dessert in form of desiccated coconut with strawberry flavour was different.

The Kath n ghat experience begins at the entrance of the hotel itself..with a splendid decor ,walls lined wid vinyl and pillars carved just the way I'd find in my village.. extremely impressed by the attention to detail when it came to the decor..the food is equally amazing..it takes u on a culinary ride through different regions of Maharashtra..the fish dishes are amazing and one should definitely have it with amboli..the service is friendly and prompt..even the mukhwas at the end of the meal left me impressed..overall Amazing experience..
If you want the experience of delicious Maharashtrain cuisine...this is the place to be. More so for sea food lovers and non vegetarians. Cucumber cooler was a new option tried and recommended. Starters was good...corn peas pattice and rawas fry. Tried a different omlet main course...Ras omlette....which was superb. Mastani in desert was mind blowing. Very good dining experience and deserves repeat visits.

Sorry for the late reivew but visited this place in march on my mom dad aniversary being a vegetarian day we tried all the veges but must say absolutely fabulous food. The flavours are very Maharashtrian and authentic. Their solkadhi is a must which they do give small portions as complimentary. We tried their vegetarian dishes and they were really good. The prices are definitely reasonable and the service is very gracious. The staff waiting on us were very helpful regarding their food recommendations and also at the time of taking our feedback. A definite recommendation 👍 and would love to come back and try their non vegetarian delicacy too.
We, my family visited Kath n Ghat for dinner. We reached early for dinner and we saved a lot of waiting time. The decore inside the restaurant is outstanding. Efforts made to display the traditional items were visible.
My daughter loved the Crab soup. The food was tasty with light dash of spice. Chicken dishes were superb. We skipped the fish items. Kolhapuri pandhra rassa pleased our tastebuds.
The disaster was to follow...We decided to conclude our meal with Mastani...the worst decision ever. Mastani was very highly priced and it was just yellow colour too sweet milk. None of us could go beyond 2-3 sips of that Mastani. We complained to the staff about it and left the restaurant with Sugary milky taste in mouth.

So its like this, sunday last week me , my wife and kids were in Thane for some work. It was around 3ish in the afternoon kids were pretty hungry and so were we. We stay at Kharghar, so looked up on Zomato and figured out 2 top rated maharashtrain places. We first went to the other the one named Nav Gomantak it was packed with people waiting, they plainly refused to take us. So we landed up at Kath N Ghat. This team welcomed us with utmost warmth. No doubt this one was as crowded as the other one but the attitude of the staff gave us enough reason to wait.
Food had to be amazing with the kind of people serving it.
Today me and my wife were in Thane again and this time gave it a shot to the other place Gomantak again . Guess what??? Same people same attitude, absolute arrongance..said No to us for time. This time we had already planned, if they say no to us again, we are going back to Kath and Ghat and never coming to Gomantak again.
Finally, we came here, enjoyed our meal, lovely people served us again with warmth.

We landed up here today for lunch. Being a sunday afternoon, it was obviously crowded and actually reached around 3pm and waited for 30 to 35mins or even more to get us a table. We regretted initially but the moment we settled at our table, the courtesy that the staff extended we felt at ease.

I and my family visited Kath N Gath for Lunch today. Very nice ambience with wooden carvings. They have 3 types in non veg Malvani, Kolhapuri, Aagri. We started with Kolhapuri Chicken Sukkha, Vindaloo Prawns and Aagri Mutton Sukkha, Vindaloo was nice with tangy taste. Especially loved mutton starter. For main course, we ordered jowari bhakri, bhajani wade, chicken and mutton gravy. All the gravy had nice masala, very different from other.

Another one point I would like to mention here is apart from the tasty food, the restaurant takes the cake in providing best service.
My last order was from Zomato (since Swiggy doesn’t deliver from here to my area) and Zomato messed up big time. Though my order showed accepted and prepared by the restaurant it never got delivered. Later on speaking to the delivery guy he mentioned he had cancelled the order since he felt it was too far and conveyed the same to the Grab management and was chilling at home. While we were sitting hungry till 11:30 waiting for the order. The delivery management never bothered to inform us. The restaurant later called me at 11:30 and said they were waiting since an hour for someone to pickup the order. He politely asked us if we had food and requested if someone could pick up from the restaurant. Not only that he also had bhakris made again since the earlier ones had gone cold.

This is à place for a good family dinner experience They have a perfect menu of veg and non veg Maharashtrian food.The seafood dishes are totally recommended especially the bharla bombil.The only problem was that the crab curry that was served had crabs without the meat in them.I think they use the crab meat for crab meat soup.
If it's your birthday they also provide with a Pooja ki Thali
Finally it's a complete amazing and fulfilling Maharashtrian fine dining experience.

Well I visited this place on a weekday so it was pretty much empty. Since we decided to try vegetarian dishes, I thought there won’t be much of a choice. But we were wrong, they serve authentic maharashtrian and Goan food. The service was pretty fast since I guess we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Monday afternoon. The ambiance is so classy. The servers were friendly. And last but definitely not the least, the food. The food was great. Can’t wait to visit this place again, but for some non vegetarian food this time.
PS: can’t comment on the value for money since it was someone else’s treat. :D Also, complimentary sol kadhi shots are worth a try!

Nice, clean and comfortable place to dine with your family. Staff is friendly. Decor is nice and elegant. Had Suranacha wada a which was nice, tender and delicious too. Matar pattice was too good. Shev bhaji was just above average. Quantity is apt with respect to price. Overall plush maharashtrian restaurant and must try.
The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. Love it all and want to come back to visit soon. It would have helped if they were more timely but it was a nice place.

I had mutton soup which was out of the world!!! Just loved it. Fish was fresh and nicly prepared. I had a Pomfret fry and squid fry. Was delighted to see Ras omelet (Goan Street snack) on their menu, but was disappointed that it was not served with the Pav (bread), I ordered amboli instead and it went pretty well with it. Their solkadi is soothing to the palates. I would visit this place again. It is a bit expensive but worth it!!

Conceptualized by the same owners who manage the popular "Metkut" restaurant, the unusually named restaurant serves an array of local regional Maharashtrian favorites in a thematic setting and with contemporary presentation.
We went to the restaurant on the occasion of Gudi Padva, and loved the ambiance and the typical Maharashtrian vibe, with old marathi songs playing in the background and Copper glasses and jugs used to serve water like you find at Maharashtrian homes.
Food we ordered: Stuffed bombil, Chicken bhujing, chicken kolhapuri with wade and kolambi bhaat(prawn pulao) plus a mocktail and solkadhi. Bill came to just less than 2000 rupees including GST.
Stuffed bombil was a little over seasoned albeit tasty. Chicken bhujing was a fair rendition of the dish made famous in the bylanes of Virar area.
We loved the spicy gravy of the kolhapuri chicken, went well with the wade. Kolambi bhat was decent too but have had better.
In between the waiters brought solkadhi shots, which we loved so much that we ordered an entire glass. Solkadhi was light, flavourful and perfectly balanced. Perfect to cool off after the spicy fare.
After we finished the main course the waiter brought complimentary spoons of what seemed like coconut halwa and shotglasses of cold yummy kheerlike preparation. Nice gesture and a fitting end to the meal.
One area where the restaurant lags behind is the service. The service is fairly pedestrian and functional, sort of like you expect in a hole in the wall establishments or thali places. A little explanation of the dishes, and the complimentary desserts etc would add to the experience. Training would definitely iron out these minor issues. Will try going back again to try some other dishes from other regions Maharashtra.
Often order food from Kath N Ghat. Agri Chicken masala being my favorite. Loved it so much that I end up ordering the same whenever I have a guest at home for dinner. Finally paid a visit to the restaurant last week to try something different. We asked for Stuffed Bombil, Agri Pomfret and Chicken Saoji along with jowar bhakri. Loved the way the food was presented. Watermelon chutney, with the appetizers was the surprise package for us. Complimented the stuffed Bombil and Pomfret beautifully.
I'm going with 5/5, because my wife loved the fish so much that she said it was the best she's had in a while. I hope the quality, authenticity and experience will be kept up at all times in the future.
I had been to their other restaurant... Kath N Ghat is an authentic maharashtrian restaurant. Where they ambience will take you back to gloried days of India. The food is amazing.
Kath n ghat is the authentic maharashtrian resto, which does not play with the authentic maharashtrian flavors of food, I had to take a maharashtrian foodie along as I had zero to little knowledge about the food, and I was pretty amazed with the tasteful food here and the amazing service by the staff who had quiet a decent knowledge of the food being serve to us,al the items that I had in the menu were great, the only thing that made me take back the 1 star was that the variety in food was pretty much simple and held back from the potential of the restaurant, the place is done up pretty well and is quiet posh to visit having 2 levels of seating. Also a private dining area is available which is good to see in thane.

Stuffed Bombil was crisp and wholesomely stuffed and done to perfection. Although one unique thing is the Watermelon Chatni served along- A MUST HAVE.
Chicken sukka - Done with Malvani spices and a great appetizer.
Chicken Loncha(Pickle) - Not recommended.
Puranpoli and Modak- Mouth watering and simply delicious. The toop(ghee) amplifies the delight.
Chicken Saoji and Chicken Malvani - Great curries to be had with roti and rice.
Breads- Do try Bhakri and Amboli.
Sides - Solkadi Shots : Novel concept and to be tried.
Watermelon berry roll: Okish
Mastani : Great desert .
Even the way the Mukhwaas is served is unique

Nice place to eat Maharashtrian non veg collection. Restaurant's name itself specifies the collection from Konkan to Sahyadri food varieties. You will be delighted by variety of sea as well as chicken dishes. They have made sure of traditional items like Aamboli, Wade, drinks to complement both categories. Interior is really nice and made to provide feel of konkan using chira-rock used in konkan for homes.

We were a group of 6 on a Sunday Afternoon and even at 2pm we had a waiting time of 20 mins..We ordered Pandhra Rassa as a Soup and Chicken Karanji which was very tasty.Bombil fry was very crispy ..For the main course we tried Chicken Saoji which was lip smacking and Kolhapuri Mutton and teamed it with Amboli and Rice Bhakri..The prices are reasonable but the service could have been quicker

Nice place, I had to wait for 20-25 minutes, but the food and service was worth it.
Tambada rassa is great. I had Kolhapuri Chicken Masala which was delicious, the quantity is sufficient for two people to get full, chicken was good, solkadi was perfect, however the buttermilk was not that good.

I had been eyeing this hotel ever since it opened in Thane. One of the biggest problems you’ll face here is parking and sadly there’s no valet. Though the place might look a tad bit tacky from the outside, the inside is a different world altogether ( fans of Harry Potter might understand this better). The decor is tasteful and every inch of the place is pumped with reminders of the Maratha heritage. It’s great to see so much work and thought into making this place. Seating arrangements too are spread out and not crammed unlike a few places we know of. The menu is a long list to choose from with preparations of Malwani, Agri, Saraswat and even Goan. I couldn’t help but order Bombil fry and for veg turned to Green Peas pattice. The fried bombay duck was a bit of a disappointment as it was overfried and extremely oily. What you could taste was only the fried rawa(suji) used and that puts you off given the fact that other (less expensive) place. The green peas pattice was exceptional and had very less oil. The main course I ordered was kaju curry and chicken sukka malwani style both of which were a great choice. The kaju curry was well spiced and though not made from the wet cashew fruit, was cooked just right and you could bite into it with ease(no harm ordering it for senior citizens as the cashews are soft). The chicken sukka was flavourful but the chicken was slightly over cooked. The masala hadn’t really marinated with the chicken but by itself was out of the world. The masala with some rice bhakri and the day was made. Sadly though the bhakri was not even warm when it arrived to the table which for me was a dampner. The Dessert menu has a pot to choose from and i opted for the Kharwas. This one is made of jaggery which should have been specified in the menu, the odd bit of the serving was that it came with honey and strawberry sauce, yes strawberry sauce! Not recommended with the strawberry sauce ofcourse but as is, it was light, fluffy and a great end to the meal. I will be heading back for another round soon and will try something else. I Am open to recommendations!
A nice place for a family lunch. The ambinece is great and the staff friendly. Price is slightly steep and the food was good. I appreciate the complimentary thecha provided on every table. I had the pomfret fry, jowari bhakri and Agri khichdi which was accompanied with a mutton Curry. Well the khichdi did not have enough mutton pieces and the curry had none.. they can definitely be generous with the meat in this case. The mutton in the mutton Curry was boiled and then added to the curry unlike the way we cook for a long time in the masala for the spices to be absorbed by the meat. For sweet dish I had ordered kharvas accompanied by honey and strawberry syrup. The presentation of the mouth freshner which was shredded sweet coconut was nice.In all a nice time spend with family.

This place looks like a palace from outside and yes it is huge from Inside too !! A huge seating space and traditional and classy taste for decor.
Thane was lacking of such a place and we are so glad we went and tried this out !
They have Maharashtrian cuisine and we started with soup .. Tambada rassa.. it was really well prepared , you have an option of making it spicy too ! Then we had the stuffed Bombil where the fish is stuffed with coconut chatni and it was awesome too !! We also had the Bharlela paplet.. it was just the way we love !! Not deep fried but crisp and yum!
Now in mains they have a wide wide range ..

Definitely not your regular run of the mill restaurant, this is some serious authentic Maharashtrian stuff.
The interiors have been beautifully done with wood panelings and murals representing the culture.
A gentle warning! The menu only has Maharashtrian cuisine but the choices available are mind-blowing!!
For starters, we had crab soup, which was out of the world.It was followed by Chicken bhujing, prawns and Chicken karanji.
Main course comprised of chicken in kolhapuri masala, chicken in khandeshi masala, prawns in goan Curry and tender coconut gravy.
The service is unbelievably fast with the average wait time of 8 mins.
For an altogether different experience, this is a must visit!

I absolutely loved the concept. This restaurant serves authentic Maharashtrian cuisines. We ordered agri chicken, wade and chapati. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend you this place as this is not one of the common restaurants but offers maharashtrian food. The interiors are wonderful and neat. There is ample amount of space for seating and food is served fast and you don’t have to wait for a long time. They give you complementary kokum juice and mukhvas at the end.
Ordered food from here. Kolambiche pulao n bharleli bangde..... Excellent!! Highly recommended. Good quality and quantity!! Of course, have tried to order a couple of times before, but they were not accepting orders, probably because of rush. Was lucky this time!

Service: Very quick. We ordered everything at the beginning and it was served right away. I mean starters, mains were all served together. This was the only downside though.
Food: Tasty. Had ordered crab soup and pandhara rassa, Bombil fry, mutton saoji, bhakris and mastani. All were superb but mutton saoji was a highlight. Never have I tasted mutton so tender. Quantities are wholesome.

I would start out by saying that one must visit this place only if they have a thing for the Maharashtrian cuisine (like me) or doesn't mind trying out something different and unique once in a while for a change. For outsiders, like my South Indian parents, it was a task to even make sense of the menu.
But, it was a great experience dining here as each of the dish here has a unique taste specific to this state unlike the regular Punjabi and north Indian fare at most restaurants serving Indian cuisine.
The food was up to the mark. It isnt possible to list out the items as we went with waiter's recommendation and remembering names are difficult. Though, I in particular, loved the Agri style prawns and a liver dish we ordered.
The waiting staff is extremely courteous and gracious. The service time is fairly good. The fort like grand entrance and the lavishly done vintage-styled interiors is warmly appealing. The place is also huge and spacious.
There are so many new and interesting dishes to be tried, that another visit is definitely on the cards.

Amazing ambience, great choice of Maharashtran delicacies and even great food with equally great service! This just sums up my dinner there. They have a very impressive entrance and to match that equally good interiors on the inside. I had been to jadhavgadh Fort, pune and this place reminded me of them.
For starters we ordered fried squids which were delicious. The batter was Masaledaar and it could be a perfect snack to have while drinking.
We also ordered Agri surmai which was tawa fry and really awesome to have. The masala was a little tikhat, but it's worth trying it. The quantity was good and surmai was fresh!
For mains we ordered saoji chicken which was again the delicious to have. But before having it, I removed atleast 3 teaspoons of oil. So it wasn't as healthy as it should be. The taste was again masaaledar. The gravy was thick and the chicken was soft.
- chicken sukkha - was good but with a little more masala in it. The gravy was on d lesser side and the chicken was boneless which was getting a little difficult to eat. I've had much better chicken sukkha. The tandaryanchi bhakri was regulation dish. As it should be. Overall it was great. The quantity was very satisfying and so was the service

I have been here twice in 4 days .Delicious chicken !!! One of the best places to have traditional chicken dishes . We tried chicken saoji and chicken khandeshi . Both were too good . Sukka chicken was also very nice . Ambience is also very good . Rates are a little bit high . But worth the price . Service is a issue as food takes around 45 mins minimum .

Recently, we went to this fantastic restaurant in Panchpakhadi and came back fully satisfied. We were looking for a restaurant which would serve the traditional authentic Maharastrian food and we are happy that we went to Kath n Ghat.
Firstly, the ambiance is super cool with just about perfect lighting everywhere. The Tambda Rassa which is native to Kolhapur is a must have here. For vegetarians, the Shembulya soup is a good option to have. In starters, chicken dry was fantastic. The Curry Leaf Marinated Salad with Prawns is highly recommended in starters. It has that amazing mint flavor. The Jowar Bhakri is just perfect and exactly in the same way as we Maharastrians prefer. The Dry/Sukka Agri Mutton was tasty and spicy, just the way we like. However, we thought the quantity could have been little more. Mutton biryani was delicious. Last but not the least, the Solkadhi; AWESOME, just AWESOME.
We would also like to highlight some negative points: A lack of variety in soups. As we are soup lovers, we prefer to experiment. After any dinner, mouth freshners, saunf, Badishep, pan is a must. We were dissapointed not to have any of these.
With the quality and quantity of food being served, pricing is OK.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed our dinner here. As we stay in Panchpakhadi, we will be definately visiting this place again. Thank You for the hospitality. Keep Improving!!!!
We went here on a Wednesday Night, the place was half empty, we got a table of 8 easily. We ordered the following:
Starters : Chicken Dry Fry and Sukha Chicken, Sukha Chicken had right amount of masala which made it tasty without making it too hot to eat. Chicken Dry Fry was okay in taste.
Main Course : We ordered Khandeshi Chicken and Saoji Chicken. If you are Maharashtrian you will feel like you ordered home food while eating Khandeshi Chicken. We had all types of Bhakari's with the main course ranging from Bajra,Rice and Jawri(All of them where authentic).
They served complimentary solkadi(Didn't like it ), some papad and a very tasty small spoon of coconut mouth fresher!
The service was polite and nice. Ambeince is like a mini royal sitting with yellowish lighting. It's pleasant in general.

While u take the Korum bridge this is exactly on the right side service road so miss the bridge take a u turn n it's on the left with ample of parking space available.
Ambiance - the place is Maharashtrian food joint. Has an amazing thematic ambiance. The entrance, interiors , glasses esp makes u feel w..o..w.
Service - Staff is much better than so many restaurants v go daily and has a lot of courtesy to greet u with smile, talk sense and get water etc quickly. Best is when u order something they have it Hot, Fresh and Fffffffast.
Food - Tambda Rassa is must have. Don't miss it. I had Chicken Fry in starters which was fab too. Jawari Bhakri is simply the best here and recommend to have it. Biryani is defi better than many places we have. While u leave they give a mouth freshners types and it's lovely too.
I think quick correction they mean and have done it reading previous reviews.
My next visit is due as I m in love with the place.

I had Pandhra rassa- soup, Agri Pomfret fry, Savji mutton with bhakri & Chicken Biryani along with complimentary papad and solkadhi shots. Food was awesome, thanks to Sunny Pawaskar-owner of K&G who has taken lot of efforts to bring all authentic cuisines under one roof. Service & preparation was also good. Kath & Ghat is a must visit place in Thane.

Went there yesterday for a family dinner. Place was pretty crowded as it was the first day of the new year and we had a waiting of almost 20 minutes before we were left inside.
For starters, we ordered the Chicken Bhuijing and the Stuffed Pompfret. The Chicken was a little disappointing and did not live up to expectations. We also had a Peru Chatla and two Sole Kadi's for drinks. Loved both of them. Peru Chatka came with a bit of mirchi powder on the rim of the glass. Stuffed Pompfret was delicious and spicy and I would definitely recommend this.
We had the Saoli Chicken and Khandeshi Sev Bhaji for Mains. We did not like the Khandeshi, it had very little flavour. Chicken Saoli was delicious but also very spicy.
We were very full after so we only had the Kharvas and Modak for desert. Both were good. Kharvas came with a two syrups, strawberry and honey. Modak came with a little serving of ghee.
In the end we got a complimentary desert thing. It was sort of a coconut granita served on a spoon.
Overall we had a great experience and service was very fast. The decor is very authentic and represents Maharashtra nicely down to brass glasses for water. Will definitely come here again :)

This place is situated on service road of eastern express Highway opposite of eternity mall. We don't need to go all together inside of Panchpakhadi.
Ambiance:- This place is decorated nicely alongwith all old theme based on Maharashtra. Photos have been uploaded earlier. Entrance door is giant. They have 2 floors for dining. Also they have tables for small and big groups. We went on wednesday and it was full and waiting of 30 minutes. Manager was courteous to help and provide seat in manageble time.
Food:- We ordered Chimboriche soup, surnache vade, mandeli fry, chicken Pattice, Kolhapuri Mutton, Amboli and Mastani. I personally was disappointed with mutton gravy as it was salty. Soup was nice. Mastani was not at all drink as it should be. Chicken Pattice was dry.
We had a great evening and family time but food i think they should be better or may be that day (27th Dec,2017) some issue might be. Try it out folks and tell me.
Service was nice and timely provided. But yes everytime team skipped to provide plates and spoons to my grandmother. This was something annoying.

Great ambiance and good hygiene. Food is too good n tasty. Don't miss Masale-bhaat and solkadhi... Must recommended if you want proper Maharashtrian cuisine! They should add thalipith as well in food items since it's one of the most famous and loved food item.
Really nice concept. Cushioned from all different regions of the state. Kath represents coastal region of Maharashtra where ghat belongs to Pune Satara Sangli Kolhapur etc. This brings you taste of almost every part of the state. We tried chicken bhujing in starters. In main course Nagpur saoji was amazing. Don't miss tambda pandhra rassa from Kolhapur.
About pricing also this place is quite good except for seafood. We experienced lil slow service on the sunday evening. Ambiance is really interesting. Every single element used for decoration, states significance of Maharashtra & Marathi.
Must visit place but be there by 8:15 - 8:30 if you are planning for dinner otherwise be ready for waiting.
Awesome food, great service and mind blowing presentation!! This has been the first restaurant which comes very close to the seafood konkanis eat at home. Not too many spices, never bland and flavorful... the green pomfret curry was so very like the one my granny made..the ambolis made on cast iron skillet with a generous dise of ‘tup’ have a different texture by themselves... the experience @ 2.30 pm in a weekday was so great, i just didn’t remember to take snaps.. Take a bow chef n mgmt! U nailed it!!!

The ambience is good, the food is different from usual and taste really good. Some are quite unique.. I liked it.... The service need a major overhaul..way below expectations.. also to be at same level at other.. they need to have valet service urgently..
We wanted to try something unique. After so much of internet hunting we decide to visit Kath & Ghat to celebrate our second Anniversary. The staff was attentive. Elegant ambience with authentic Marathi food did not disappoint us at all. The traditional Nagpurichi Patodi Bhaji, Poli, Amboli, Sol Kadhi, Mattha and Phodnicha Bhat was good enough to judge the taste. Overall, people who love maharashtrian dishes can visit at least once.

This is a recently opened up joint near my house and decided to give it a try for a weekend lunch.
The ambiance is Royale and makes you feel Grand.
The place has been given the look kind of Maharaj style. Grand doors, pictures of artists at the reception area, the wooden interiors, the metal glasses, dishes and bowls give it the look desired.
The service is quick as well.
We tried just one sabji suggested khandeshi sev bhaji with rice and bajri bhakri.
The sev sabji comes a bit spicy as it was conveyed earlier by the staff. It consists of thick ( gathiya) style sev with garam masala rassa. It goes high on spiciness and becomes a task to eat rather then enjoy the meal. So caution: only for people loving alot of spice.
The mini solkadi shots, fried papad are complimentary accompanied with main course.
The bhakri I must say was very good and served hot.
You have thecha in the pickle jar to accompany with meal.
Lastly ordered taktai and mattha.
Here the difference is taktai comes with jeera tadka over it ( more like one in kadhi) and mattha is normal masala buttermilk.
Lastly mouth fresher is served in eye catching spoons.
Overall scores high on service and ambiance! A must visit for Maharashtrian food!

Then the main course arrived jwari bhakri , kolhapuri sukka chicken & khandeshi mutton masala
kolhapuri sukka chicken is delicious , khandeshi mutton masala's taste not upto the mark but mutton was properly cooked .Then we oredred chicken biryani Aurangabadi ,was okay okay with raita, Then finally gajar halwa arrived again great taste . Solkadhi shots was amazing .

Had heard a lot about this place. Went there sat lunch so there was no waiting.
Went in straight for the kolhapur cuisine since i am from there and hence could take better judgement about d place.
Order was pretty simple- pandhra rassa, tambda rassa, kolhapuri chicken masala and jwari bhakri/poli to go wid it.
Must say all was pretty good and brought the required kolhapuri flavours to every dish. Although the rassas were not so much spicy as we usually have it in kolhapur but that is okay considering for the mumbai people in general. But the flavours were bang on. They gave us solkadi complimentary at the end too and it was delicious too.
The staff is courteous too and the ambience is spot on. You immediately feel transported to marathi royal era; kudos to the owners for that👏🏻
Will surely come back to try other cuisines !!
Great Food. This review is about 6 months late so I do not remember a lot but the taste remains:) Hope to go again when we are in Thane.However not many of my friends have heard of this lovely restaurant. Maybe a bit of publicity might help:)

Another maharashtrian joint in Mumbai, bringing all possible local cuisines under one roof. Malwani, Khandeshi, Kolhapuri, Saoji - one can enjoy all preparations here.
The ambience has a lot of attention paid to it, with fort like door entrance, pictures and murals depicting the maharashtrian culture, brass utensils and traditional maharashtrian music playing, it sets quite a good vibe.
The food was all excellent except the surmai which seemed not fresh. The various chutneys were perfect with the starters , especially the water melon one. The portions were quite generous as well.

The ambience of this place is just lovely! Assal Marathi food. The service is quick. You'll get variety of dishes from all over the Maharashtra. A must have- thambda rassa, kolhapuri chicken masala and amboli.
Authentic maharashtrian food, good tasty food at reasonable rate. Puranpoli was amazing. Haven't tried non veg but I believe I will be amazing too. Will be ordering online soon
The ambience of the hotel is good. Of the starters we ordered the Agri surmai fry was excellent. However, the prawns fry were almost bland. In the main course we ordered for a crab curry with bhajni and rice wade in which I would say that crab was not fresh (frozen directly put in curry that's how we felt) plus it was not cleaned properly. The best part of all was the solkaddi. It's was superb.

We had Tambda rassa for a soup and it was lovely. They served it in a vassel with a lid so that it remains hot. Then we ordered surmai fish fried aagri style. The fry was tava fry and fish was served with a jelly like tangy sauce. For mains we ordered mutton gravy , aagri style with Jwari bhakri and rice. The mutton in gravy was boneless. The gravy was spicy and tasted lovely. I loved the food. Although it's not really spicy . They served solkadhi in shot glasses, it didn't give me any kick. They also gave us small mukhwas not so good. ServiCe needs improvement. ServiCe is tad slow. Rice we ordered took a lot of time to come to our table. Waiters did not know about menu. This is not acceptable in a speciality restaurant and needs attention.

A hidden gem located in heart of thane...
We were blown away by the ambiance of the restaurant definitely best in Thane...food quality was amazing..we ordered chicken karanji which was crispy and filled with minced chicken..main course dish was chicken khandeshi..bang spot on flavours...we had it with bhakri..which was soft and fluffy..in between complimentary shots of sol kadi were welcomed by us..we ended up ordering a whole glass of sol kadi for us in end..would definitely recommend a visit to this place...

In appetizers we tried Chicken karangi which was very nice. Chicken bhujing starter was something different... never eaten anything like it before. Kothimbir vadi was good.
Main course was ok... at least the dishes we ordered were ok. We ordered Chicken masala Agri style... and also ordered Chicken Khandeshi which was pretty sour.
Bhakri was very nice.. we tried Jwari and Rice...Bhajani vade were also good.
Kharwas was ok.

If you wish to have original Maharashtrian food this has to be your place. With classic rajwada decor they serve authentic maharashtrian food bought in from different places of Maharashtra. Service here is good as well. Check for the level of spicyness before placing your order as some dish might be quiet spicy, specially if you are not much into spicy food. This is for sure a place you should visit with your family, its a different experience all together something very different from mainstream restaurants.

I went on a saturday afternoon. Place was very crowded, I prebooked the table so got in fast. The food was delicious. I ordered prawns and chicken in multiple cuisines for starters with crab soup which was top notch. Everything was tasty. Cherry on the cake being the watermelon chutney which was fab. In main course I ordered chicken and mutton in multiple cuisine. The mutton was fab and very soft. Though they say the gravy is spicy it is very much manageable. Quantity 4/5 Quality 5/5 Service 4/5. Went to this place for family lunch on a sunday aftrnoon. We actually reached late at 3pm to find tht there was a wait there. The ambience looks amazing. Gives you a feel of royal peshwayi place. There was no valet parking. For food we ordered tambada rassa which was good, chicken bhujing which is a different chicken starter dish than the regular dishes..i felt it lacked that spicy feel n is good to try small portion if you splitting it in more people. Stuffed bombil were jst disappointing..they were not crisp and the green chutney stuffing overpowered the fish in taste. For main course we hd chicken masala cooked in khandeshi style and sukha chicken..both were good. Wade were soft..again v disappointing. For desserts we hd mastani..whch was good, kharwas n modak were ok.

It has a large variety of Maharashtrian food covering length and breadth of Maharashtra- from Konkan to Vidarbha and from Kolhapur to Khandesh.
We started with Goan Sungatache Soup. It’s taste was a perfect blend of Goan spices with coconut. In starters we have tried Fried Bombil and Kolhapuri Sukka Mutton. The fish was well made and very crispy. Mutton was also very soft and spices were perfectly blended.
For main course we had Saoji mutton and Bhakri.
The last item was Mastani which was very soothing.
The solkadhi shots and mukhwas poppers deserve a special mention.

We had Goan Sungatacha soup, which was a spicy Indian bisque bursting with flavour. In starters we had Chicken Bhujing (Chicken+potato Poha!!) & Stuffed Bombil (spicy & tasty).
Mains were Aamboli with Kolhapuri Masala Mutton. Gajar Halwa was the perfect ending to this tasty saga & it tasted just like "Mom"! Special mention Sol-kadhi shots served on the house & their Mukhwas poppers.
The place is huge & has brass cutlery giving it an old-world royal feel. The staff is courteous & well-informed. The service is quick.

Very nice Maharastrian food. Order sawaji chicken, kolhapuri chicken, chicken stir fry, Wade, amboli, bhakari and solkadi. Like everything except the chicken stir fry which was a Chinese item. These people are experts in Maharastrian food so go there to enjoy Maharastrian cusine.
The best place in Thane so far where there is value for money and its authentic in its own way. No school served but if you are going for the love of food, this is the place. Can’t wait to take my family there. Not much of a variety but good enough to decide on what you’d like to have. Ordered Malvan chicken curry with Rice rotis and the okras were good too.

We have started with soup called “Pandhara Rassa”..authentic Kolhapuri style.. & they have very innovating way of serving this soup..liked it..!
Then we have ordered appetiser.. Chicken Karanji, Khandeshi Maas Wadi (veg) & Mumbaiya Ghotala.. Wow..! Tastes really nice.. I was trying all this for the first time.. Karanji was nicely stuffed inside & crispy covering..which gives you different experience all together..
Then we have decided to go for some spicy 🌶 stuff for main course, Kolhapuri..?? Ummmm naah.. we have changed our mind..& ordered “Agri Chicken Rassa” & “Garam Bhakri”.. Oh man it was superb..! Super spicy & tasty.. Then finally we have ordered “Solkadi” to settle down all these stuff.

Last night we visit this place called Kath an Ghat, wasn't intentionally but someone had told me to visit once this place. Luckily there wasn't much waiting outside,got the table in few minutes. As soon as we entered in, it was truly love at first kind of feeling. The ambience is seriously authentic Maharashtrian culture, have pictures of Marathi films and song were also playing.
Soup we choose Pandhra Rassa, have tried this before also but as an main course as a soup were trying first time. But truly they had tried new way to serve it and it really feels too good, light, perfectly spiced.
Next was Sukhha Chicken, it's an spicy n with bone starter. Initially i didn't liked it but when a captain told us that they use only chicken leg pieces n that too with bone to make chicken preparations more tender n tasty.
Nagpur orange based milkshake we had as a mocktail its okayish not too wow like earlier ones.
In mains we tried Malwani Chicken Masala with Tandalachi Bhakri, it's perfectly cooked, medium spicy as we ordered and with soft pieces of chicken into it.
Desserts Gajar Ka Halwa all time favorite and Rice Kheer both were good.
Service was bit slow as we need to remind them for next job, as it's a busy night so it might happen.
Crockery and plating were superbly done. It's an seriously heaven for Maharashtrian food lovers. Will surely visit next time to try dome fish dishes.

Main course: We had bharle vanghi (brinjal dish) and phool gobi rassa with jawar bhakri roti/ chapati and Puri. Both the sabjis were yummy. Bharle vanghi goes specially well with bhakri. Solkadi shots are served as a complimentary drink along with main course

Deserts: kharwas served with honey and strawberry and gajar Ka halwa. Really loved both the desserts

Ok this place boasts to serve you authentic cuisines across the state of Maharashtra and tries it's best to do it. Unfortunately it falls way short of it. I am not sure if there is any connection with Metkut, a veg version of such claims. However, the non-veg serving, no bar restaurant is leagues behind the vegetarian cousin. Quite an effort on the decor, which appears to be garish, blocking sunlight altogether gives a claustrophobic feel, especially during the day. Food below par and expectations. However, must mention a spirited staff trying to cope up with illmannered, hungry and noisy crowds. Keep up the good effort, find a good chef and get your act together people. Best wishes.

Kath N Ghat is not just a great place to eat, but a nostalgic detour for many Maharashtrians. You will find many restaurants with exotic interiors, but there is something different about Kath N Ghat that soaks you in and makes you part of it. you feel at ease the moment you enter the place.
Regarding the food, what amazed me was unbelievable variety of maharshtrian menu, covering a vast spectrum of delicacies from all geographical landmarks. So, it's not just run-of-the-mill malvani or kolhapuri food. These guys have really taken efforts to bring you pan-Maharashtra food, even from the far flung places, right on your table. This is the place for curious explorative food lovers.
Excellent decor & good Maharashtrian food. The Khandeshi Chicken is lip smacking. The Prawns are fresh & succulent. The show stealer however is the Puran Poli: the best one can get any commercial place, and very few households can claim to make it so perfect. The only dish they need to work on is the Kothimbir Vadi, it had too little coriander & too much gram flour, which marred the softness & texture. Everything else is top notch

Solkadi had its authenticity, giving it the perfect taste.

We had ordered Kadhan and Shembulya as appetizers. Kadhan was bland in taste but Shembulya was quite spicey and green in color. In starters we tried kothimbir vadi and suran vade both the dishes were up to the mark. Suran vade tasted like Mumbai's vada pav and kothimbir vadi had a lot of coriander, unlike other places where we have to find coriander in it. In the main course we thoroughly enjoyed our meal with rice bhakris which were soft and hot. Along with it we ordered bharli vangi and shev bhaji. Shev bhaji was better than bharli vangi. Quantity wise we found it uneconomical. We got 2 baingans in the dish, which was disappointing.

The moment you enter this restaurant you start appreciating its décor and ambience and that raises our expectations about food quality and taste.

Amazing place , went there on Diwali’s first day hence it was decorated nicely with all lighting’s .
We didn’t got parking near the hotel hence had to park on the highway but altogether i got an parking on highway.
Since first day of Diwali it was completely pack with lots of people in waiting. However we got the seat down.
There is an upper floor also which I have to explore in next visit.
Decor is nice and you feel comfortable when you are in.
Tables are not very closely joint which gives you a open feel and movement.
After digging the menu card we finalised our dinner.

Great ambience, ammmmaaaaazing interior. When we walked in, it felt so royal and elegant that i was really proud to know this was all for Maharashtruan cuisine (being a maharashtrian myself). The staff is really good and polite and friendly. We asked for recommendations and ordered two of the curries with prawns (malwani) and mutton (saoji) and chicken starter. To my disappointment, not one of them matched up to my expectations. The best of the lot was the chicken but the rest majorly lacked flavour. I really really suggest that these guys look deeper into their recipes and food coz the concept is really marvellous and interiors are top notch. If the food becomes delicious, then you have no competition anywhere!

I ordered for a home delivery from this place from Swiggy. Food was Saoji chicken, bangda loncha and amboli. All of them tasted really nice.
I initially ordered for dry fish loncha but the staff called me and said they are sending fresh fish in the same cost. It was really nice of them.
People with new age of junk food have reduced their preferences towards traditional maharashtrian dishes. So with the mindset of having something different we visited this place. Kath n Ghat, it is worthy enough! They gave us complimentary papad, solkadhi and at the last mukhvas. It was soo amazing.

Been to Kath n Ghat yesterday. Normally I dont visit a lot of Maharashtrian restaurants since I eat the same food everyday at home.
We ordered goan sugtyancha soup which was excellent and had a really different taste. For starters we had chicken bhujing, fried bombil and chicken karanji. All of which were excellent. For main course we had mori(shark) mutton, jowar and rice bhakri, mutton gizka bhaat. Mori mutton was excellent, bhakri was as my Mom makes and Gizka bhaat which is rice stewed in mutton stock was unique and tasty. Even the mukhwas provided after meal was different. Sol kadhi was consistent and tasty.

This restaurant was on priority list as it was started by the promoters of metkut & was hoping tht it would serve a perfect blend of veg/non veg delicacies from all corners of Maharashtra & happy to say that it doesn't let you down.
A Great/perfect ambience setting for a fine dine.
Tables are sapced out which give privacy & cause less commotion.
Perfect lighting & interiors make you feel good abt the place.
The staff is courteous & eager to help you & even tweak the
prepartion to suit your needs.
They have an elaborate non veg menu with a la carte & dabba/thali options ( khandeshi/malvani/ kolhapuri cuisine )
We are greeted with complementry sol kadhi/papad , as we ponder over the menu.
We had ordered
cucumber cooler (appetizer) was ok.
kanda bhaji (great taste but too much in quantity)
bombil fry (perfect blend of flavour/spice)
kolhapuri chicken dabba(one chicken gravy/one starter, bhakri, dal , chicken pulao & gajar halva) all the items were good with distinctive taste though the dal could have been better.
In veg we ordered the dalimbyachi usal & bhakri as the dabba options for veg ppl is very less with only one type of dabba which consists kala watana & shev bhaji.
No complaints but In Khat n ghat more emphasis is on non veg so veg dabba option is limited, though you have many options in a la carte menu (quantity enough for 2/3 ppl)
Price is a tad on higher side, but no complaints considering what we pay for @ punjabi /chinese joints.
They also serve a variety of chutneys (veg/non veg)with various dishes which go quite well with the menu.
Overall experience is very good & with every little thing being taken care of right from the time one enters.
I am tempted to give it a 5 star but restrict myslef to 4.5 as i feel the veg dabba could have been better(more options)
Visit to this place was due from long time, and boy it didn't disappoint a bit. Went there on a Sunday evening, that meant the place was already crowded. Got a place to sit luckily within no time. We ordered variety of food from different parts of Maharashtra, it was equally consistent and good. Service was nice, considering the volume of orders they were handling. Overall a very good experience. Just a suggestion, portions of food can be a bit bigger. Keep up the good work. Definately recommended in Thane for a good dinner!

Pros
The place is located in an odd area..but whatever the place you choose, if the product is good it will survive. Interiors and overall feel of the place gives you an idea on the money spent here. The food was delicious..masala chicken kolhapuri with bhakri n the bharta omlette are all something you guys must try. The food was served in no time as soon as it was ordered. They provide complimentary solkadi shots to all but somehow missed it for our table and compensated by giving us one plus one solkadi.
Cons
The waiting staff was always busy though and we had to always call for basic things like..fingerbowl..remind them of same again..clean up the table after we were done. They should keep check on their waiting staff and maybe the glasses used for water. One of our glass was not properly washed so we had to use the mineral water bottle..we didn't take efforts to call n tell because it seemed all were in hurry and no one paying attention to the table. Post the clean up of table it took 15 min to bring the fingerbowl..this was big minus..and additional 10 min to clear off on bill. So overall 30 min lost just to leave the place.
Superb food, authentic taste, great environment, palatial feeling, no worries for car park....Thanks Kath n ghat for opening up in Thane. Will love to visit again...

Thane is experiencing some major changes when it comes to the restaurant chains and it is refreshing ! Kath N Ghat gives you the ultimate marathi wada feel with ambience created as per the vintage times. You can find copper utensils and paithani frames across the restaurant.
Service is moderate. Starters were delivered too quickly and the main course was rather late so we had to wait for a long time. Staff is helpful and patient.
Coming to the food part, we ordered pandhara rassa and chimburya soap. Both were really good! Pandhara rassa highly recommend. We had Chicken bhujing and Agri Surmai fry for starters. Chicken bhujing had too much of oil. It is basically chicken with poha. You can skip this one if you're not a fan of oily food. Surmai was good. In the main course, we had Malwani Mutton Sukka, Khandeshi Chicken, Kolambiche Wade and Bhajniche Wade. Kolambiche Wade was really very tasty. Mutton sukka has less quantity but as we were already quite full , we didnt mind. Khandeshi Chicken was good. We also had amboli, it contains 2 ambolis. I liked it too. Lastly we had egg pulao, that was normal pulao with some boiled eggs. Fine it was. We couldn't finish it so we had to parcel that.
Overall, really nice concept, good food, typical Maharashtra family restaurant with too many variety of menu from all over the state. A delight for non vegetarian crowd.

The ambience is too good. We had non- veg and the food was good except for a mutton dish which was salty. Overall a very nice place. Had gone there to celebrate FIL'S bday and he felt really special. The staff is very courteous. Sol kadhi is a must have, absolutely out of world.
What an amazing place..I don't know where to cut down rating so d visit made me give them a 5 stars..Ambience is awesome..the food quality is extraordinary..taste will make you lick your fingers..their presentation is like that of a 5 star..It seems they took 6 months to prepare their menu. We tried chicken bhujing and sukka mutton (goat)... The mutton was perfectly cooked and prepared so was chicken....
The Bhajaniche vade, Rice Bhakari along with Kolhapuri Chicken Masala with thick gravy and Bhajanachi Kolambi was so perfect for mains....
We ran out of time, hence failed to cash it on other food.
Paan as gel are too tasty comes in soup spoon.
Solkadhi shots as apetizers do the perfect trick....

I just could not help but praise the food as it was so delicious... So coming to ambience.. Situated at perfect location where there are so so many outlets in the busy area of Panch Pakhadi, Thane (on 180° to Hotel Samudra) the placr gives glimpses of a nice lil Raajwaada.... Parallel parkings are available.
Inside it is two storied... A family room and an open room. The place is nicely bricked with appearance of 'Chira' the famous Jambha Khadak or Laterites.
The goblets with support plate made with beaten copper just turn on the mood... The ambience is simply superb.

One thing they should do is minimize the usage of oil level in food (e.g. Kolhapuri Chicken). Or at least tell the people that this dish has more oil.
I m already a fan of Metkut, and today I had been to Kath N Ghat with high expectations.. Initially my friend placed our order for prawns Masala and Mutton Sukka, I told him I ll have prawns you can go with Mutton. But to my surprise that Mutton was so very tender, juicy and tasty I ended up having just Mutton here. Then we ordered for a Aurangbadi Biryani and again it was Hit.

Traditional Mahastrian food at its best! Just loved the ambiance! The food was good too and the service was fast and very friendly. The concept of gathering food items from different parts of Maharashtra was really interesting. Also, you get a Solkadi (the signature Maharashtrian drink) complementary.

Visited on a Sunday evening and there was minimum half an hour waiting, which was a dampener but at least it was an indication that the food would be good. And that's exactly what it turned out to be, not just good, but great in fact! We tried the malvani mutton sukha, roast chicken, bombil fry and squid fry for starters. Each dish was better than the previous one! The amboli, mutton masala and the jowar bhakri comprised the main for us, leaving us absolutely satiated and full. The saoji chicken curry however wasn't up to the mark and wouldn't order it again. The complimentary solkadi shots really hit the spot, so much so that we ordered big glasses for everyone and were happy to pay for it. Kharwas for dessert rounded up an excellent meal in an apt manner. Didn't much care for the pan flavoured end to the meal, again complimentary. All in all, would definitely go back again to this authentic Maharashtrian cuisine restaurant that is a welcome addition to the food scene in Thane. Deducted half a point as service can be better. Damages 3500 for 5 of us.

A superb place for those who are looking for cuisine hailing from the coast, hills and plateaus of Maharashtra. Serving traditional Maharashtrian regional food, this new restaurant clearly delivers. It has a well differentiated menu giving you the luxury to choose from Malvani, Nagpuri, Kolhapuri, etc cuisines. As far as the food is concerned it was brilliant, definitely not a let down. The decor is 'rajwada' like and pairs perfectly with the food it serves. PS- For you spicy food lovers, do try the Mutton/Chicken Khardi.

Here's a few suggestions to take the dining experience to another level
1. Usher needs to greet people in traditional setup like they do in the luxury train Deccan Odyssey
2. Uniforms, make it traditional and keep it changing like malvani style of clothing, khandeshi etc
3. Keep rotating the menu.not all items on list can be available all year long.Some are season dependant and need to be taken care of.

The place is named as KATH which is for coastal cuisine and GHAT is cuisine of Maharshtrian hilly areas (ghaty). The ambience is also designed in the same way. The ground floor is designed in Khat way n upper floor is Ghat style. Lovely ambience .. the wall piece, chandeliers, lights, cutlery and music... all is so mesmerising ... I just forgot about everything else! So ambience 5 out of 5.
Food - good. Being fish lover, I have tried almost all best sea food joints in Mumbai. This place I found good however not the best.

This place give you a feel of Mughal from outside. Serves Maharashtrian cuisine with specialties of various places from Maharashtra. This has to be the best Maharashtrian cuisine outlet I have tried till date. Food taste and quality is just great.
We tried padhara raasa and khandesi chicken with jawari roti its too good. Along with this they serve 5 different variety of Maharashtrian chutni and solkadi shots.In the end they give you pan mukhwas which is a unique concept.

Kath N Ghat is the most elegant place for authentic Maharashtrian exclusive cuisine. The menu covers unique dishes from Khandeshi, Saraswat, Nagpuri , malvani and few CKP dishes .
Starters are very different and served in fine dining style. Crab Bisque , a Indian version of Bisque is superb . After Metkut , this nonveg restaurant with fine dine ambience , good service is going to be the best place for local Marathi food .

Thought of trying a new restaurant and this was an obvious choice for its popularity for maharashtrian cuisine. My feedback:
1. Location : Very close to the highway, but has garages like premises in its close vicinity.
2. Parking: Ample space...on the service road
3. Usher: I was extremely disappointed to notice that the guard / usher who first represents the restaurant... could not comprehend (and of course, speak) Marathi.
4. Ambience: 15 on 10. No words. The Paithani motifs, minute wooden ceiling, lights, concealed AC vents - really artistic. Reminded me of Jadhavgadh fort.
5. Food: We ordered a variety.. for starters, had suran vade 4.5/5 (but were cold by the time they hit the table), onion rings 4/5 (not much innovative, we expected kanda bhaji). Soup was a disaster.. too spicy even after we requested a change.
Main course made up for all our disappointment.. we had what we call vadicha sambhar (don't recollect what it is called on the menu) which was too good. The authentic masala was a winner. We also ordered dallimbyachi usall, which is a weekly item in our homemade food (preparation can go wrong by stalwarts). This was too sweet but really well prepared. Loved by my 4 Year old (she never has it at home) and of course, by all of us.
Chapati, bhakri, jwarichi bhakri were just perfect. Koshimbir reminded me of my grandmother.
A funny thing was that one of us ordered salad without kaanda-lasun, he did get it, but was the salad was garnished with a fried onion ring!!!
The waiters were confused when we asked for items without kaanda-lasun (onion and garlic). Strange, if you consider yourself assal marathi!!!
6. Bill: Not too exorbitant.

I have seen good Marathi Fast food Joints but this outlet gives you combination of Marathi Veg treat with lip smacking NonVeg treat.
We had Kanda Bhaji(simply stupendously fantastic)

Tried Tambada Rassa and Chimbori Soup (Crab Soup) as well alongwith Pandhara Rassa (Mutton Soup)
Still Pandhara Rassa wins amongst all coz you don't won't to start your meal ona spicier note
Saraswat Prawns and Chicken Bhujing as starters were good too Chicken was soft and perfectly spiced and cooked .
Even prawns were cooked in typical Saraswat cuisine.
For the main course we decided to try Agri Mutton Sukke coz I wanted to check whether they could meet the expectation of an Agri Man..To my surprise it was very close to what my mom cooks at home so went for a repeat..Kudos..
Maybe in Chicken if you guys especially for regional food can try using Gavthi (Country) Chicken instead of Broiler it will definitely give a better taste ..
The team did worked on our recommendation suggested for Mastani and now it was served in cocktail glasses good I appreciate your efforts..

Delicious tasty amazing food...Have tried Surmai Fry, Alu Wadi, Dry Fry Mutton Kolahapuri, Jowar and Rice Bhakri, Rice Papad, Puranpoli...All the dishes n preparation were too good...and puranpoli was the star...with ghee and milk...wow...Impressive interiors...Worth the visit...And will surely visit again...
Interior is very impressive...veg dishes are good but i order aurangabadi chicken biryani which has no taste at all...even i didn't notice any khada masala or pudina nothing like biryani just chicken masala n basmati rise on top....which is for 400....need to do improvement.....
Absolutely yummy food ... Great taste ... You will start salivating reading the menu and food that is served does complete justice to the expectations.... ! Go there with an empty stomach or a full one you won't leave the place without trying at least a couple of dishes. I found some different yet absolutely scrumptious desserts ... It was a good change from typical gulab jamuns and ice creams ! Must try mastani and for veg ppl like me you shud definitely try khandeshi shev bhaji.

After the success of their earlier outlets of Metkut they have come with an unique idea of having variety of Maharashtrian food with authentic tastes. Their menu is huge as they have different preparations like Agri, Malvani, Savji, Jalgaon style etc. We had ordered Suka Mori fish which was yummy but little spicy than we expected. Then we tried Savji Mutton which was tasty too. They have equally good Veg menu also. One has to visit at least 2/3 times to try their items on the menu as the list is never ending. They serve you jelly plus Paan flavoured mukhwas in stylish spoon. Something unique than the regular mukhwas. They have amazing ambience with high quality interiors. You can hear smooth Marathi old songs while dinning again something different matching to their theme. The location is highway touch so easy to access and no typical city parking issues. The staff is very cooperative. They are not promoting much but guess their taste and theme are gonna attract more people in future. A perfect place to try different types Of Maharashtrian food under one roof. Must visit.
I have been to this place recently. Ambience, sitting arrangement and service is quite good. They do have lot of variety in the menu for e.g: fish items prepared in malvan, agri and saraswat style. We ordered for a mutton tiffin which is nothing but thali, the individual items of which are packed in a tiffin box and served at the table. Interesting concept. Apart from that ordered bombil kalvan, pompret fried in agri style and bhakri.
Mutton preparation in kolhapur style was ok. Amti was superb. Rice bhakri was super soft and solkadi perfectly spiced. They also served complimentary pan based mukvas at the end. That was something unique and very tasty. It was a mixed experience. Hence, I would rate the taste as average.
Price is slightly on the higher side. Not much value for money.
Overall, a nice looking place with good service but taste needs to improve.

The state of Maharashtra is blessed with an amazing array of cuisines from the coastal regions to the deep inlands that almost stretch to central India.
After their hugely successful venture at Metkut and Metkut thali the owners bring us yet another fine dine to experience the variations in Maharashtrian cuisine with both veg and non-veg options.
They have left no stone unturned when it comes to the detailed menu or the amazing one-of-a-kind interior of this place which has been modeled after the Wada's (Royal mansions) of the Peshwa's (royal families responsible for care taking of the Maratha Empire).
One look at the huge wooden exterior and one is immediately reminded of the royal homes found in the Pune region.
The name 'Kath N Ghat' signifies the length n breadth of this State as in Kath means coast (coastal regions) and Ghat means the deep interior valley regions that stretch to the vast borders of Maharashtra.
The restaurant has two levels, both of which have an amazing rustic look with red stoned walls to huge wooden panels and a wooden decor/ceiling.
A classic wooden staircase takes us to the upper deck which feels like a dinning area of a royal mansion complete with antiques and warm lighting that sets the mood for a great fine dine experience.
It's said that we eat with all our senses, well this place definitely allows us to do just that.
The menu is varied n comprehensive with good descriptions of the dishes and beverages and has been neatly divided into sections of soups/starters to the desserts all of which are from the different regions of the State.
The non-veg options far outweigh the veg ones so this is a true delight for any die hard carnivore who wants to explore the variety of chicken/meat/fish dishes offered in the detailed menu.
The soups and some of the items are very unique and have been given authentic names from the local regions.
Nagpur Dairy: the region of Nagpur is famous for its oranges and as a tribute to that this is a sort of a mocktail consisting of orange juice, fresh whipped cream, hazelnut syrup n ice.
It's smooth creamy tasty but not too heavy.
Patodi Rassa: Patodi means small fritters or round discs of Bengal gram flour and spices, which were marinated in the Rassa (thick gravy) of spicy Saoji masala.
This goes well with Wade, Bhakri or rice.
Bhajniche Wade: a bhajni is prepared by mixing flour of various lentils plus spices n salt. The dough is then fried to get puffed flat breads or Wada which are a must have with most of the gravy items veg or non-veg.
The wade were well made and complimented the Rassa dish.
Paan jelly: a complimentary spoon of this unique mouth fresher was given at the end. It consists of flaky paan flavored condensed milk or Mawa covered with a cube of paan flavored jelly, something new.
The service was well coordinated, the staff especially the captain is knowledgeable about the whole menu and are very helpful with proper answers.
The highlight of this place is the amazing ambiance which is complimented by soothing background music from old Marathi movies n folk songs.
This review will be updated with more food samplings as the restaurant definitely deserves more than one visit.
Second visit update:
My non-veg loving relatives had to savor Veg dishes only due to the month of Shravaan but they loved it !
Starters:
Kothimbir Wadi: very different from the usual version, puréed cilantro/coriander leaves mixed with gram flour dough, small bite sized pieces of this mix were crisp fried to perfection, this is a must have !
Alu Wadi: Colocasia/Alu leaves layered with spiced dough and lightly fried to give a nice crisp bite.
Corn Patties/pattice: another must have, a common dish taken to the next level of taste n texture, the corn tikkies were savory n shallow fried just right .
Karanji: these are crescent shaped fried dumplings stuffed with a sweetish savory filling, this was the only weak dish of the lot in terms of flavor n texture.
Mains:
Kaju Usal: a mild flavored cashew nut dish which has a semi thick gravy and topped with fried cashews, not at all spicy but full of taste.
Phool Gobi Rassa: florets of cauliflower n potatoes sautéed and braised in a sweet n sour gravy, a good overall dish.
Salad: the menu has a wide variety of salads in both veg n non veg:
Mishr Koshimbir: Shredded/julienned mix veggies slightly sautéed and topped with fried onion rings and cilantro, a very cooling n refreshing combination with a nice look, roasted peanuts gave a good crunchy texture.
Flat breads:
Ghadichi poli: a well made 4-8 layers rolled whole wheat roti/chapatti.
Amboli: a thick flat bread made from fermented rice batter that goes well with all gravy dishes.
The chutneys n sauces given as dips made each bite a thing to savor.
Sol Kadhi shots: one of the best version of this drink, thick coconut milk flavored with tangy kokum served in shot glasses.
Veg Dabba/tiffin box: innovative way of presenting a veg thali in a metal 4 container tiffin.
It has a black gram/vatana/peas usal/curry, spicy saoji shev bhaji, nice yellow dal, salad, fried item.
An option of bhakri is given jowar/bajri and steamed rice or veg pulav.
The dabba is more than enough for one person.
Non-veg:
Special mention to be made for the rarest of rare meat dishes called 'Kadaknath meal', read full description in the online menu. Definitely worth trying.
Chicken pattice: unlike the usual pattice this has minced chicken stuffed between bread slices coated with besan batter and shallow fried.
The mince is very flavourful and overall its a very hearty dish with 4 pieces on plate.
Malwani Rawas curry: the fish was without much marination or salt which made this a very weak dish with bland curry.
Malwani Surmai curry: much better as compared to former dish with good curry preparation and fish well made.
So clearly the seafood needs to be improved.
Perfection is something that can be described for this amazing amazing place opened in Thane.
Taking thane culinary experience higher by several notches, this restaurant has set bar quite high for other Thane restaurants to achieve.
Specialising in Coastal and regional food of Maharashtra, this restaurant tempts you with excellent presentation and equally amazing taste.
Must visit for a superlative marathi fine dine experience.
Update : This place is horribly inconsistent and has seen consistent falling food and service standards. What a shame !

If I had the option... Would give many more stars! Let me start with ease of booking a table....all because the guy at the reception is always helpful.
2. Ambience... Exceptional, with wooden rustic furniture... Not too noisy unlike many of the restaurants .

5. Food : Menu is vast and varied with a wide variety of cleverly crafted mocktails. I would advise you to try out the different starters... Especially, the chicken wada and crab wada. The batter fried prawns with crackers is perfectly cooked. They could improvise on the stuffed Bombil though. The main course is awesome. They have perfected the flavours. Don't miss the Tupatle mutton and the amboti Prawns. I must warn you, their Portion sizes is good as well. One serving is enough for 4 people. The Bhakris are cooked to perfection and Moderately sized.
In the desserts... Even if u are full.. DoNOT forget to order the PURANPOLI ICECREAM. Its their speciality and rightly so. It takes a certain type of expertise to curate such a dish to perfection👌... Hats of to Chef Pawaskar for that!
6. The Owner ( Chef's wife) Mrs Ruby Pawaskar personally makes sure that the guests are comfortable and does not shy away from taking their feedback.
7. To top it all... You leave the table with their special Chocolate ( mouth freshner) which makes you appreciate them more.

Varied range of food from vegetarian and non-vegetarian. You can have good options in mocktails worth trying. Starters are all well ranged on pricing and also live upto their naming with respect to spices and flavours. We tried the non-vegetarian food and all was well to the mark. Asked for spicy and got it. Staff here is well mannered humble and polite. You can share your reviews and the staff will help you with customising the dish as needed on level of spices.

Veg options are quite good, but in taste those are just good, need to be best.
Plenty of non-veg options available, little be spicy.

Typical maharashtrian food on offer. Price may seem high but quantity is good. Wont find many or any cuisine other than maharastrian one so if you are looking for other stuff, you wont get it here. (Not even tandoori roti).
Over all nice food, taste was nice. (Not too spicy food ). No valet parking, so that is major set back as personal vehicles are parked on owners risk.
Kath n Ghat is where you can taste the best of both worlds of the Maharashtrian cuisine.
The place was decently packed for a Friday night.
Started the night with some cocktails, and aam panna cooler was a hit.
In Soups, absolutely loved the Chimboryancha soup, it was packed with flavours.
My favourite starters would be Kansache samose and Maklachi bhaji, not to forget the Saoji Chicken Lollipop, which was a good twist.
Among the main course, the Aurangabadi chicken and the Sagoti Vade were a win for me.
For the vegetarians, the Coconut Soup, Kothimbir Wadi, Kaju chi Usal and Vangyache Bharit is a must try..
And lastly, lets not forget the Amazing Modak and Kharvas for desserts.
Kath n Ghat has a beautiful wooden interior inspired my Maharashtrian culture. It has a soothing ambience with old Maharashtrian songs paying in the background which puts you in a nostalgic mood.
Superb place to try Maharashtrian food. Being a vegetarian, I tried their Veg Thali and it was outstanding. The quantity was also sufficient enough to full you completely.

A 5/5 for the hospitality, taste, great ambience. The waiters were soft-spoken and had knowledge about the dishes and could give nice suggestions. The food was nice, and had that zing to it. Would highly recommend to all. Also, just to state, the rates are a bit on the hefty side.

Located on the service road near Viviana Mall, this place will charm you the moment you enter inside. The ambience is lovely with alloy and copper decorations on the walls and serving table. The food is served in alloy plates gives you the very feeling of royal maharashtrian dining. Coming to the food, the menu had a variety of options in it and not just restricting to the Kath and gath section of the state but covering khandesh and vidarbh as well. It offers the choice of khandeshi sukka mutton, savji chicken along with the all time hits of kolhapuri and malvani preparations. The mutton malvani was cooked beautifully with a dry and wet coconut curry base and succulent goat meat, it was the dish for the day for me. Pandhra Rassa was okish. One may say this place is little overpriced but the quantity and quality of food served sums up for it. However this place is a little turn down for vegetarian food. The options are limited and frankly the quality isn't impressive as well. Fodnicha bhaat resembled pohas. Another turn downs were non availability of thaali system on Sundays. The dessert and mocktail options are innovative and recommended for everyone. We tried jamun chatka and it was a lovely drink. The likes of puranpoli ice cream of this place are already known. We would love to have Nagpur Dairy and Bebinca which were not available on our day of visit.
Overall non veg food lovers must visit this place.
