Used to dine here quite often before the Covid19 pandemic hit. Since it opened for take aways have ordered quite often and the food was as good as always. The butter chicken is simply yummy out here. Most of the kebebs are good and my at least once a month favourite chicken fried rice and chicken manchurian.
Decent restaurant located opposite to Malhar Cinema hall. They do have 2 sections ac and the non ac. Staff is friendly and courteous, in addition they also helped up with the orders which in turn helped us save few bucks. Ample amount of options for veg and non-veg lovers. Do check out zomato for happy hours or any offers on liquor.

We went here in Pre-COVID time for a Friend's Birthday Treat. The restaurant also has a roof-top seating however, we preferred the AC Family Section. The Ambience was pleasant.☺️
We ordered Masala Papad, Chicken Tilwada Kebab, Paneer Amritsari Tikka in Starters. We opted for Veg Mayuri ( An interesting sabji dish - Mix of 2 coloured gravies ), Kulchas, Jeera Rice, Dal Tadka in the main course along with Virgin Mojito. Everything tasted good.😋
The staff was Polite & Helpful. The Menu is Moderately Priced. The Serving Quantity was Satisfactory. Our bill was Rs. 2024 including GST.👈

Overall very good experience. I visited the place on the birthday party and everyone enjoyed their food . Veg and non-veg menus are perfect and tasty . Staff have arranged the sitting for us very well as we were 15-20 people .
This place was recommended by a colleague and i didn't think much of it until I tired it myself. Dum biryani is worth a try. Chicken tikka gravy is better than most places in Thane. Thank u guys for the service!

One of the best hotels in thane that serve really good and tasty food. Whatever you order is tasty. My favs here are kebabs and butter chicken. There are sections for family ac/ non ac where there is peg system. The non family section has smoking and a non smoking section.

very casual restaurant. Food quality as well quantity is relatively good considering its average cost in terms of each dishes. They lagged was in terms slow service will improve slowly though. Hygiene is maintained and the staff is supportive plus well mannered.

Shelter is an amazing dining place. It was pretty crowded when we visited it last week, but still we were well taken care and were served the food on time. We had ordered for a nonveg platter. It had a variety of chicken, mutton and prawn starters. After this the main course ordered was lasooni chicken and chicken patiala along with dal fry and jeera rice. The food quality and preparation was amazing. The chicken was tender and juicy and the well cooked. It wasavna amazing food experience, I would definitely recommend this place.

Shelter has been a favourite since childhood times. Yesterday happened to be here again because of Zomato Gold.
We ordered the famous Chicken Tandoori and trust me it was just woww. Perfectly marinated juicy chicken and beer.... What a combo.
Then we had Fry Kolambi and again it was a winner.
Then we had Butter roti with Veg Mayuri, a combination of Green and Red gravy vegetables. It was equally good.
Later we had prawns biryani and it was great.
Superb service and great taste.
So we had been here for a small party and we had a good time.
The place has a Terrace seating arrangement, more than spacious. Food is just mesmerizing. You ask them for recommendations and they will serve you the best of the lot. Prices are little bit on the northern side but they serve a good enough portion of their meals. They even have Zomato Gold on drinks. Overall a wonderful experience.

This restaurant is located Naupada, Thane, and it's pretty spaced across three storey building for dine-in, and not to miss their terrace dining experience which was an exceptional one with the cold breeze and good food it will be an experience of life, you can say its a romantic dining.
I am fond of seafood so I tried many seafood delicacies and, it was great, fish was really fresh and was prepared wonderfully.
They serve decent Mocktails and Cocktails too

DRINKS
#Watermelon and Ginger Martini - Vodka based cocktail, infused with watermelon juice, was very smooth, loved to have it.
APPETISERS
#Bombil fry - Wow, this was so wonderfully prepared, bombil was fresh, cut sliced open was cleaned properly so you can enjoy the fish without any skeleton getting between, was marinated nicely and fried to perfection, just order it you will not regret.
#Fish Tikka (Rawas) - Beautiful diced rawas, was well marinated and done which left the rawas moist and juicy from within, just melted in my mouth.
#Mutton Fry - I have had such a dish with meat, before ordering it was in my mind that this dish would be oily with small meat pieces, but it came out very differently and I would recommend meat lovers do try it, it was like fried and baked so no oil on the meat, was dry but it tasted really well,
#Surmai Tawa fry - The Huge slice of Surmai fried with rawa nicely, loved it was juicy from within topped with fried ginger.
#Chicken Cheese Kebab - This dish tasted okay, the cheese was grated from the top, I like to have kebab filled with chicken.
MAINS
Was full with such a wonderful spread of seafood appetisers, so had a little bit of space for mains so jumped directly to Prawns Biryani and order a small portion of it, prawns tasted delicious.

This resto bar is located in Thane opp to Malhar cinema. They have around 4 sections which are spread across 2 floors. We chose the open air section on the 2nd floor. The ambience was calm n soothing and being winters it was nice n chilly in the night. Their chicken cheese kabab is one of the best dishes on the menu.This restaurant is a specialist when it comes to sea food. We ordered for Fish chilly , Surmai tawa fry , Prawns Koliwada and Prawns tawa fry. Each dish was very well made and it’s difficult to pick the best from the lot.The bar menu has some really good options to choose from. We went for mocktails - Long Island ice tea, tequila sunrise , Indian summer - Granada and Indian summer - Hot spiced Rum.Long Island was my personal favourite. We ended our meal with gulab Jamun n sizzling brownie with ice cream. The staff here is extremely courteous , humble and welcoming. This was one of the most memorable dining experiences in Thane. Shelter stands strong for almost 40 years now in the heart of Thane. They have some delectable food and alcohol which will make you tipsy.
Food: Chicken Cheese Kebab: juicy chicken tandoor coated with cottage cheese. Tastes best with green chutney
Bombil rava fry: good chunks of bombil fish coated with crisp rava (semolina) was delicious.
Pomfret Tawa Fry: Huge pomfret roasted well with spices garlic and was lip smacking till the end
Prawns Koliwada: mid sized prawns deep fried with masala. De shell and devour
Chicken fried wontons: chinese starter where chicken is served in wonton which is crisp and tastes best with sweet addpn given with it
Chicken makhani/ butter chicken: thick gravy with shredded chicken was delicious
Surmai masala: chunks of surmai served in malvan type gravy. A bit spicy.
We had main course with cheese garlic naan which was crisp and topped with loads of cheese
Vanilla with gulab jamun: the best combo dessert and perfect to end the meal
Drinks: pinacolada, sunrise tequila, liit and indian summer: all drinks were perfectly blended and had adequate amounts of alcohol proportion. Highly recommended is indian summer !!! Do try that
They have roof top seating for families as well as closed dining too. We were assisted by a group of members- mr sanil salvi, steward turi and mr banti. All were cordial and made sure we had an amazing time out there.

Ohhhhmg , lokking for quality n taste along with good ambience then i dont think there will be much better option than 'The Shelter'. They serve good veg as well as non veg food. Sea- food also exeptional . The thing that seperate Shelter from other is there taste n sevice.

Butter chiken:- chiken is soft n well cooked. Quantity is suffient for two but the magic or difference is there there lipsmacking taste . Believe mi it was just unbelievable.rating for butter chiken :-(5/5)

Then we tried,
Boneless biryani:- Taste and flavour of biyani is quite unique. Chiken and rice is well cooked.rating for biryani:-(4.5/5)

The shelter is located just besides the very famous Suruchi missal. They have a very large seating area. Service is good, they are quite attentive. Not much to say about the ambience.
Firstly, we tried the Chicken chilli kebab and chicken tilwala. The former was quite indulging and delicious, the green sauce was used on top of the kebab was too good. Tilwala was a touch disappointing, it lacked flavors and surely could have been better.
Surmai fry, the only factor that brought about the downfall of a very good dish is that the fish wasn't fresh enough. Apart from that, it was good in taste and the marination was tasteful as well.
Chicken lollipop, LIIT & Tequila sunrise, The reason I combine these three together is that these were the best of the lot. LIIT and tequila sunrise we're very well prepared. It had a subtle kick in every sip and it tasted amazing with the starters as well. Too good. Recommended.
King chilli prawns & butter garlic prawns, Decent enough. Butter garlic prawns was done quite well but the chilli prawns lacked that spark and it appeared over dryish as well.
Chicken biryani, Very good. Rice quality and tenderness of the chicken is immensely satisfying. Must try.
We finished with vanilla ice cream and Gulab jamum. A very good combination to end a meal with.

The shelter being in business since 1979 is a perfect example of the blend between the old classic menu which is vanishing from the cards of many restaurants and the progressive cuisine which is becoming the trend of modern dining scenario.
Was ver pleased to see some classic dishes on the menu which we grew up seeing while restaurant like for eg GREEN PEAS JEERA GARLIC FRY,CHANA BUTTER FRY,CHEESE CHERRY PINEAPPLE,ALOO WADI, JODHPURI MIRCHI(being rare on any menu).
LOCATED in a very old locality of thane and opp a very prominent landmark The MALHAR TALKIES, this place comes up across as a very regular restaurant. But with times they have tried to be in sync with the on going restaurant trends.
AMBIENCE is like a regular restaurant and bar types but the tables here are well spaced out to respect the privacy also very cosy. They have plenty of options as the place is 3 leveled and one may choose the sitting according to one's choice.
STAFF AND SERVICE before having the food which off course is a very important part of restaurant one gets to experience the hospitality by the staff. This restaurant have very loyal staff who are there with this place since a long time which itself shows how good the owner and the management must be. Right from the valet guys to the guys at reception to the captain to the guys servers all were warm, welcome and always prompt at the service. Special mention goes to MR SANIL SALVI who is at the welcome desk at the restaurant to make us feel welcomed and attended throughout the visit. One can have very good restaurant related conversation with him. The second person to mention was our captain MR DEEPAK who made us the entire food experience a very pleasant one.
FOOD
Now this ia the most important part of any restaurant and i was left with the thought that how can all the dishes we had didn't have anything to complain or suggest . A the dishes that we tried form the menu as well as the captain suggested turned out to be great. When i think back and feel why this restaurant exceeded the expectations was for the very basic fact that we didn't visit this restaurant with any major expectations. But then hit the bulls eye. Now we are wanting to go back and explore everything from the menu.
What we had here was

APPLE JULEP out of which i personally liked apple julep.

MAIN COURSE included the classic BUTTER CHICKEN which offcourse is a must try, the unique point about this was that it was not overpowered by too much of cream as what we otherwise get.
The other dish that won the heart was VEG CHILLI MILLI which was absolutely bang on surprise. The gravy was so tasty and flavorful topped up or say garnished with fried chillies which left their peculiar trail on the tongue on taste front yet not making the dish high in spice quotient.
THE ORIENTAL POT RICE was also very good as like what we get in most of the authentic chinese restaurants. Loved it.
So in all was a very happy guest that i left in heart stomach and mind after exiting this restaurant.

Boy o boy. What an amazing dish this turned out to be. So glad we went for a veg starter just to get a taste of the veg side of things considering both of us were non vegetarians. The Paneer was so soft and the spoon cut right into it and with every bite along with the chutney was absolutely delicious

This was rather unique and not something I'd usually come across in other restaurants and hence decided to go for it
Has a spicy flavor to it. The chutney makes it a good choice to pair with. The salads are a great addition and they are just as good as the starter

What a lovely little gem this is. Amidst all the Indian menu this one sits right in the middle and tends to be missed by many. The soup is so creamy, coconut cream filled soup and chicken pieces shredded inside with noodles within. So good. This one is heavy and the taste is one of the best. Absolutely great.

Spicy chicken wings with great flavors blended is what this dish is all about. One who's into chicken can definitely order this one. Tends to be on the sweeter side of things by a little bit but otherwise it's great as an appetiser
🌟 Chicken Devils Sizzler
One heck of a main course item and the quantity is generous. Served with the classic Sizzler presentation sizzling hot was mashed potatoes and cottage cheese on the outside and potatoes on the inside. The rice and the gravy hit the spicy chart right.

For Cocktails we had a LIIT And Indian Summer
The LIIT could have been stronger in my opinion and was more on the mellowed down version of the classic LIIT as we know it. Nevertheless the taste was great and was on the sweeter side
The Indian Summer was something that was more appealing to me. A gin based drink and with an orangish tinge to it, it was a bit mild but apt to my liking. This was an inhouse drink and I liked this one quite a bit.
We also had a Granada which was a strong drink in comparison and I'd recommend it to those who don't want their drink to be just sweet or mild but prefer it rather strong. Another inhouse drink worth a try.
Finished it off with
🌟 Cassata
A fancy Cassata brings back all the memories you had as a kid when you'd attend a wedding where you'd have such ice creams. They've retained the legacy and kept some of their classic menu items on the list and this is one that will be on their list.
Great colors, simple yet always a delight to taste
🌟 Gulab Jamun
This is another well made dish. When done right, it tends to be perfect for the aftertaste given its sweet taste lingers in your mouth after the wholesome meal you have. Soft and sweet. Served hot.
On the whole,
It's been a great pleasure to have come down for this place. It's a legacy place having made its name back in 1980s itself. Now redefining themselves as a family dining along with their traditional set up is something that people of all age group and family members can enjoy without any worry.
The separate seating for family and the even better roof top seating or the AC section on the 1st floor as well as the second is something most restaurants won't be able to offer. The area is right in the heart of the city and the locality is good. Easy to spot on the left side when you come from thane in a rick

This is an old place in the town, a very awesome place with gud taste. A wonderful dining experience. Thy have a huge seating indoor n at the roof top with very simple n basic ambience. It is so homely place here n lovely hospitality. The owner n managing team was always there when we needed help n made sure tht we are fine.
Mocktail were just amazing loved the natural fruity taste. Fruit Punch was more like a thick smoothie n citrus punch gave the unlimate effect. Virgin moji to turned out to the best one even though it was a basic drink but the taste was gud. Desert were my fav part.
Prawns was the most famous n Best sellers dish with spicy taste n freshness of prawns coating crunchy n spicy. Delicious dish mouth watering n marinated n fried with India spices.

Yesterday, I dropped by and decided to give it a try!
It has a 2 storeyed structure with the top floor being open terrace and 1st floor and ground beingfamily dining !
The staff is so courteous and polite, it feels comfortable.

Surmai rawa fry - 5/5 a larger than life piece of surmai coated with rawa and fried. It was mouthwateringly delicious

Pieces of chicken sauntered and served with oyster sauce giving one a tangy, spicy taste
Chicken soneri kebab - 4/5 luscious melting in your mouth kinda dish !

The Shelter is a family restaurant and bar with simple and decent decor and ambiance. Its a 3 storey resto, ground and first level being normal dining area whereas the upper level javing rooftop arrangement. The food served here is really amazi g. Mainly they serve North Indian, Mughlai and Chinese with some of their own fusion dishes.

Last night our stomach we're so full..that there was no space of even a drop of water.. that's how much we ate..
We went to this amazing place SHELTER... It is a nice two floor building with rooftop seating.. then casual dining space on first floor and a small section of dining on ground floor...for senior citizen and physically handicapped people.
The food was delicious there is not one thing that I would like to change about the dishes that we were served.

Chicken Starter you can order chicken alishan kebab in which is stuffed with cheese and well marinated.
In chinese we have ordered sizzled chicken which is served in hot platter its taste like sizzler and its must try dish.
Main Dish : Since we have fish fry it definitely goes well with dal khichdi..I found dal khichdi different here as they have butter tadka in it
Mocktails : you can try out mojito and sweet lime soda or they have der various mocktails.
Being here with my family for a small get-together few days ago. Was planning to visit this place and finally I did! "The Shelter" is known for it's good Food and Ambience.
Coming to the food, it's great and they let you with a great quantity of food. They have many options in Veg & Non-Veg as well.
Try their 'Fish Fry' in Appetizers and if you're a chicken lover a must try 'Butter Chicken' it goes well with Butter Naan.

Located in the most crowded Suburb, Thane. The Shelter brings about a refreshing comeback of Punjabi food especially for the Non-Vegetarians.
It is located just opposite to the very famous Malhar Talkies.
It had been long since I have had good Punjabi Food. The Shelter Gave me the opportunity. Hopping on to the Food.
Food:
1. Prawns Tawa Fry: I thought that the less quantity will definitely take a toll on the taste but it did not. Really fresh prawns along with amazing Masala wrapped around them.
2. Schezwan Chicken Tikka: This was boneless piece of chicken Sauteed in the regular schezwan sauce.
3. Chicken Lahori: It was a Sabzi and was amazing! A little towards sweet and spicy it was buttery and a perfect blend of the gravy and the Chicken pieces.
4. Butter Garlic Naan: It was normal but could have been a little more spongy and soft.
5. Russian Salad: It is one of my favorite side dishes. It is chopped vegetables with Mayonese and some Dahi and sugar.

The Shelter is a family based restaurant. As new cafes and restaurants are emerging i had absolutely forgotten that there are some places which are a true gem. Before them these restaurants were in so great demand and getting back to them again was indeed a wonderful dining experience. They have a huge seating indoor and at the roof-top with very simple and basic ambiance.
A very old restaurant with a good and decent atmosphere with quality food.
Coming to what I Had:
Moctails:-
1. MANGO SWIRL: A thick mango shake with vanilla and mint. That minty flavour gave a wonderful taste at every sip. [Must Try]
2. CITRUS FUSION: A mixture of orange, sweet lime, lime and tamarind. Too much citrus consumption but a good one though.
3. Tropical Bliss: A thick pineapple juice.
Starters:-
1. JUGALBANDHI KEBAB: A mixed platter of 4 Pcs of Chicken Kebab and 4 Pcs of Mutton Sheek Kebab. Chicken kebab was very good with boneless chicken grilled perfectly. Mutton sheek could have been a bit better as the sheek was a bit rubbery. But a must have kinda starter.
2. CHICKEN ALISHAN KEBAB: Chicken stuffed with cheese and chicken kheema. What more can you ask for when there's everything in one kebab. Highly recommended.
Main course:-
1. SHELTER SPECIAL CHICKEN: Oh my this gravy was heaven. It had chunks of chicken pieces with chicken kheema and egg. I love such typical restaurants because they have some really great varieties in gravy and this was a bang on. Must must try.
P.S. I had this with BUTTER NAAN.
Dessert:-
1. SIZZLING BROWNIE WITH ICECREAM: The all time favourite. Brownie was soft and good but i didn't like the chocolate sauce which was poured over. Like after it stopped sizzling and was normal it became very sticky and was getting stucked at the teeth while having every single bite.
My dinner couldn't have been better than this🙈. The best part was having the gravy which i was craving since long. One should definitely visit this restaurant❤.

It felt so homely here. Really loved the hospitality. The owner and managing team was always there when we needed help and made sure that we are fine. Visiting this place in evening is really pleasant having those dim lights giving you the candle light feelings. Mocktails were just amazing loved the natural fruity taste. Fruit punch was more like a thick smoothie and citrus punch gave the ultimate mosambi effect. Virgin mojito turned out to the best one even though it was a basic drink but the taste was good.Prawns fry were spicy and juicy as well. Liver fry was another favourite dish i loved here. Wings of wire the best starter you will ever have here. It's not on the menu but the manager seeing that we love spicy he recommended this one and really we loved it, hardly in couple of minutes we finished it. The last and best one was Parinda kabab a bit sweet marination with lots of different flavours. Prompet fry had lots of masala. Specially those garlic giving flavour and strong taste. Desserts were my favourite part . Gulab jamuns tasted good and were hot. Honey tossed threads with vanilla Icecream was something different which I had here. 🍱Chicken Devils Sizzler- Everything together on hot plate with spices could be good option. This sizzler was one of them.
Rice tossed in butter and chicken pattice , spicy fries, mix vegetables and stuffed capsicum was on the hot plate where spicy devils sauce was amazingly prepared and complimenting to whole platter. Balance between all ingredients and Gravy need to work out. Can serve extra sauce/gravy along with sizzler plate. And stuffing inside the capsicum was exceeded.

The Restaurant located at thane naupada is little far from thane railway station but it is total worth to be here. It is 2 floor restaurant(ground plus one) along with terrece. Amazing view they have created at terrece. On terrece also 2 sections like one is open where party mood can be enjoy to the fullest and another is kept for family purpose. Cricket bats signed by Sachin was kept on one of the wall and it attracted me a lot.
Service was very quick. All staff members were polite, happy faced and specially Mr. Sanil helped us very nicely to select dishes from menu.
I tried non-veg here and mainly seafood so can definately suggest visit this place atleast once if you are non-veg lover. Seafood was fresh and made very perfectly.

#Rawas Tikka: Boneless, fresh, soft, succulent Rawas pices were marinated in red spices and then tandoored so nicely that I enjoyed each bite of it. Presentation was also nice. *MUST TRY*
#Chicken Cheese Kebab: So yummy, cheesy, Marvellous in taste. Boneless chicken was perfectly marinated and cooked served with cheese on top of every piece.

The shelter was established in 1979 and still d environment inside is fresh and new. About the restro it's huge and vast consisting of 2 storeys having a rooftop area as for fine dining. It was a great time spending der and having der people's favourite dishes and personally it was my first experience as of joining with other food bloggers. Service was way damn quick & good and waiters were very polite.
Talking about the restaurant it has exclusive areas like one area or floor for nly elderly people whereas other for family and third for teenage ppl
I tried the following dishes :-
1. Paneer amritsari tikka - it was fresh and soft marinated in spices which was too little applied on the paneer.
2. Bombil tawa fry - crunchy, crispy and awesome in taste.
3. Roasted chicken in bbq sauce - mouth watering dish as chicken was perfectly balanced with the spices or masalas applied on it.
4. Chicken pepper kebabs - a very tempting dish as the presentation was just fab as well as in taste also.
5. Prawns koliwada - my recommendation to ppl as go for dis dish as I personally loved it as compared to other dishes.
6. Prawns tawa fry- only a little difference as compared to prawns koliwada as it had garlic in it and the masala used was different but again very delicious in taste.
7. Nawabi masaledar chicken - it was sweet in taste but a hatke dish wich I experienced here
8 prawns Malwani - spicy and great in taste but the curry could have been more thicker.
9. Prawns and chicken Biryani - I loved both of them as d usual typical marathi taste in both of dem.
The prices per dish was okay and medium.
We enjoyed our dishes on rooftop where u get a perfect late night dinner in dim lights feeling wid sm or the other match to watch on tv.

The Shelter Farm is a bar and family restaurant and it's one of the very old restaurant in Thane. They serve Chinese, North Indian, Mughlai, and Seafood. They have AC and Non Ac section. Open terrace seating was nice. They can do better to improve the ambience of the place.

1. Paneer amritsari tikka - paneer cube marinated in a mixture of gram flour, spices, herbs and then fried. Every single piece of paneer is creating burst of flavours.
2. Veg shangai - carrot, onion, cauliflower, baby corn,mushrooms, capsicum cooked in shangai sauce. Vegetables were crispy and sauce was slightly thickened.
💠 Mains :
Veg chilli milli - the best sabji we ever had. We had it with butter roti and it taste delicious.
Fried rice - simple and flavorful.

For desserts we just ordered chocolate and strawberry ice cream. Both were amazing.

Its a delight for non vegetarians over here. Rawas Tawa fry was the yummiest of all fishes tried over a long time. Loved it. Chicken irani kebabs were also good. Finished my main course with the mutton hyderabadi biryani.
Shelter has been here for ages amd has established itself over here in comparison to service, price and the quality of food. Having food here on a windy terrace with few chilled drinks would be the most peaceful moment.

The first floor is for all the senior citizens & male customers, the second floor comprises of open terrace & adjacent to it is the section exclusively for the families. We chose to dine at the open terrace & we loved the chill vibes over there.
We tried,
• paneer amritsari tikka - soft & fresh paneer marinated in mild spices, absolutely delectable.
• bombil fry - spicy & crispy, very scrumptious.
• roasted bbq chicken & chicken pepper kebabs - as delicious as it looks, had the perfect balance of flavours.
• prawns tawa fry - fav from the list, spicy & properly marinated.
• nawabi masaledaar chicken & prawns malwani - the nawabi being their signature dish was simply amazing, malwani’s gravy could have been thicker.
• prawns & chicken biryani - equally delicious.
The service was at its best; quick, kind & humble. Also, we loved the way they presented the food. The prices are okay.

The Shelter was started on 1st October 1979. It was started with a Father Son Duo. The second floor comprises of an open terrace. The restaurant is situated on the main road which connect teen hathnaka to the railway station.
Best place for: Time with friends, Try Kebabs, Seafood and Biryani.
The place will soon be renovated to make it ideal for families as well.

1. Sanil the Manager is well aware of what's good on the menu. He is courteous and very helpful.
2. The cocktail and mocktail varities are good.
3. The food portions are generous and can be shared with three people.
4. The seating is available on the ground, first and terrace.
Cons:
1. The interiors have faded off since it's a very old restaurant existing since 1979. They plan to renovate it soon.
2. Dim lighting gives it a bar feel hence not ideal for couples or families on the terrace. Terrace is the best place to chill.
3. The pricing is on a higher side.
4. Presentation not worthy of it's pricing.

“The Shelter” is one of the oldest restaurants in Thane. I have been coming to this place since I was 5 years old. The best part about this restaurant is that it still has the charm as far as taste is concerned. I have never faced any problem till date. It's the best place to have a get together.
The have a terrace dining area which has the best ambience according to me. They even have an air conditioned family section. I can comfortably say that this is the go to place for me.

After boring lazzy monday we decided to visit here as fine restaurant to chill out. it's walkable distance from Thane station (hardly 15 minutes) or you can get sharing auto .
Here you have choice to enjoy your day at Ac section or at open Terrace space.
We choose open Terrace to experience top of view.
Here we order
Starter & mocktail - as sea food lover we had bombil fry & prawns tawa fry ( it's delicious crunchy dish most recommended) with starter we virgin mojito which perfectly ripe.
Main course - in main course ee tried chicken masala with butter naan and prawns biryani
After having such heavy dinner we tried vanilla Icecream and Gulab jamun.

Known for serving absolutely lipsmacking yet no fuss food to it’s patrons, The Shelter is a wonderful place to party with family as well as friends. Any of you looking to enjoy a Desi meal with some drinks? This is the perfect place for you.
I had been here with a couple of friends on a weekday evening. We chose to sit on the top floor which is the terrace with roof. The ambience already set our moods right for a memorable night.
The staff served suggested some great dishes which are their specialities and we really loved them. The service was super-prompt with the staff making sure we were never left waiting for anything.
The food we tried was superb to say the least. I remember visiting this place with my parents when I was a kid. I Loved the food then, love it now as well. Here’s a list of dishes I would recommend you guys to have.

This is one of the very good restaurants in Thane city. Very conveniently located. Renovation work is going on at groun floor as such, we sat at first floor. Food quality was very good and service is also very prompt. The restaurant was half empty evwn on weekend because of Adhik maas. Overall, a good experience to dine here.
A very nice rooftop ambience with great food is how I will describe this restaurant. The chicken was soft and tender. Even the soup was thick and tasty. The service was good as well. They also have a great list of mocktails. But this restaurant could be bit heavy on your pocket. Apart from that everything is good.

The Shelter is a family restaurant and bar with simple and decent decor and ambiance. Its a 3 storey resto, ground and first level being normal dining area whereas the upper level javing rooftop arrangement. The food served here is really amazi g. Mainly they serve North Indian, Mughlai and Chinese with some of their own fusion dishes.

The food was amazing here, personally I liked CHICKEN CHILLI KEBAB the most, and CHICKEN KANGDA was delicious too😋😋
Staff was very kind and courteus. Mr. Sahil was there to serve us. He knew the menu well and helped us in ordering the food. The service is also quick and good. Really enjoyed the food here. Great place for North Indian and Mughlai cuisine lovers.

This place is located around 1.2 km from Thane railway station and easily reachable from Thane station by auto or by walking.
This restaurant has two floors, which has an amazing rooftop dining area. Restaurant has very attractive ambiance.Ambience of the whole restaurant looks beautiful and attractive.
Seating arrangement is perfectly managed and organised in respect of couples, group of friends and families.
Menu of this restaurant is vast and thanks to Mr. Sanil Salvi, who was helpful and gave us wonderful suggations to choose right dish to eat and thanks to him for taking care of us during our last visit to restaurant.

A very casual restaurant with an open terrace dining option. Food quality & quantity is relatively good considering its average cost per dish. Alcoholic & non alcoholic beverage available too. The only part that they lagged was in terms slow service. Hygiene is maintained & staff is supportive & well mannered. Vallet parking is available!
Overall a decent option for a lazy weekend to enjoy with friends & family!!

Shelter stands strong for almost 40 years now in the heart of Thane. They have some delectable food and alcohol which will make you tipsy.
Food: Chicken Cheese Kebab: juicy chicken tandoor coated with cottage cheese. Tastes best with green chutney
Bombil rava fry: good chunks of bombil fish coated with crisp rava (semolina) was delicious.
Pomfret Tawa Fry: Huge pomfret roasted well with spices garlic and was lip smacking till the end
Prawns Koliwada: mid sized prawns deep fried with masala. De shell and devour
Chicken fried wontons: chinese starter where chicken is served in wonton which is crisp and tastes best with sweet addpn given with it
Chicken makhani/ butter chicken: thick gravy with shredded chicken was delicious
Surmai masala: chunks of surmai served in malvan type gravy. A bit spicy.
We had main course with cheese garlic naan which was crisp and topped with loads of cheese
Vanilla with gulab jamun: the best combo dessert and perfect to end the meal
Drinks: pinacolada, sunrise tequila, liit and indian summer: all drinks were perfectly blended and had adequate amounts of alcohol proportion. Highly recommended is indian summer !!! Do try that
They have roof top seating for families as well as closed dining too. We were assisted by a group of members- mr sanil salvi, steward turi and mr banti. All were cordial and made sure we had an amazing time out there.
