This is the best place I have ever being since childhood for trying non veg and seafood and malvani cuisine. The food quality is good amazing that I still visit over there. Seafood and malvani food lover should surely visit this place. The ambience is also very good. The staff and the service is very good and cooperative and fast. Tried with all the items in the menu and loved it too. This is like a saviour when em in craving I go their and eat whethet its 12'o clock but they are opened still 12'o clock so I took a parcel but you will always get food and never return empty handed. Must go and try I recommend this place.

Yesterday I visited this place with my family. This is a small seafood restaurant near LBS mulund checknaka. It served malavani style seafood... Ambiance is not good but food is tasty... I have tried promfret fish fry, mutton khima, prawns masala, solkadhi..rice bhakri n vada... Promfret was very fresh and crispy... Mutton khima was hot and spicy.. Bhakris we're soft...Solkadhi was tasty..must visit place place who loves seafood...Excellent value for money as well..

Landed up here for lunch randomly the other day and came back mightily impressed. This is a small seafood specialty joint near the LBS check na. Ambience is rudimentary at best, though they do have an AC section as well. I tried prawns dry masala along with bhakris and the surmai tawa fry. The gravy was superb though quite spicy, but that was alright since I enjoy it that way, and the bhakri was soft, which not everyone can manage to get right. Would have given 5/5 if they'd just gotten the Surmai marination right. It was just off and there is scope for improvement there. Special shout out for the complimentary solkadi as well as rassa they provide with every meal, really a fantastic touch. Excellent value for money as well, since I found their rates at least a hundred rupees per dish cheaper than all other places. Coming back again for sure for the pomfret next time.

🛑Ambience- no fancy interior in this hotel but yes good ambience as per what hotel serves us, simple ambience with decent lights and fans. You may not feel that much hot if you select non a/c sitting.
🛑Quality- from beginning quality of food is not changed so much but yes overall quality of food is good, serves fresh fish and chicken, use fresh oil and you will not taste that typical smell and taste of fish so no wories with fish, soft rice bhakari and little crisp wada with chicken rassa or thali and freshly boiled rice is served.and solkadhi is so fresh and tasty.

Malvan Food at it's authentic best. Absolute delight for any fish lover and I am not even a fish lover but eating here will surely make you one (atleast temporarily). I couldn't stop myself from having portion after portion of Bombil (Bombay Duck) and in the end couldn't believe how cheap everything was!

My taste buds for Malvani Cuisine started here way back in late 90's ...taste of Pomfrett Fry still remains the same. It no nonsense joint...recommended for fry fish...prawns ..bhakri and chicken handi...that too Gavran style.
Due to renovation it takes a while to find a table ...I would highly recommend for a Sunday lunch at this authentic Malvani joint.
mutton chops..prawns sukha..and pomfrett fry is highly recommended.

This is a very old but well maintained Malvani restaurant In Thane near checknaka.The eatery is wellknown for its fiery Malwan taste.
For non Veggies it is a Best restaurant to visit. Not so costly the foods are spicy and very tasty.We Ordered Gavthi chicken masala , Prawns Masala , Bombay duck fry, steam rice and Vade .It poses a flavor like as though Home made.
From a small restaurant to well developed restaurant the ambience is always decent not very special not very low.
Service is also good. You dont have to wait much for orders. Very light in pocket and good place to go with family

This is a decent place with spicy non veg food. If you like your food spicy and are close by, then this is a good bet. I have been hopping in quite regularly in the afternoons for lunch since I work close by. Their curries are good. Do try the kombi wade. Bheja masala and biriyanis. Amongst the fishes, surmai fry takes the cake here. And the solkadi is just perfect after your meal.
Good food, spicy chicken and mutton. Food is really good bt gets low in quality during peak hours especially on sunday after 8pm. Due to heavy footfall so if you want to enjoy the really taste of it visit in afternoon or at 7.30pm

This Restaurant is victim of its own success. I have been going here since I was 7 years old and I am 19 now. This placed has changed a lot, from so-so interiors to a well furnished place in recent times. The also have an A/C section now.
The malwani food here is authentic and was priced well before this placed got famous. Now that this restaurant is popular, it is overpriced and always crowded. The quantity of the food has also been reduced. I myself am A malwani person and am very familiar with the food, so take it from me. This place is bit expensive but has the best malvani food I have ever eaten at a restaurant.
The chicken sukkha is fabulous and is cooked to perfection. The wade that they serve with the chicken have small holes in the center are are quite tasty itself. Their sol kadi is delicious and is a must have after your meal. The chicken rassa along with the chicken sukkha is quite good too, goes well with plain rice or with wade.
They also have biryani's but you should stick to malvani food cause the biryani's are below average and not worth ordering. The service here is fast and good, no complains about service. There is always a queue outside this restaurant and sometimes can take upto 30 mins. of waiting, which is frankly annoying.
Overall this place is a gem. Altough the food quantity has been reduced and prices have been doubled, the food in terms of taste has remained consistent. Best Malvani Food Ever At A Restaurant.

The ambience makes you think of this place as a shady restaurant. Vegetarians steer clear of this place. The non veg is really good. Decently priced and yummy scrumptious food. Sol kadhi is a must have. We had prawns masala, chicken sukha, chicken masala and rice flour bhakhri. All of it was yummy.
I often visit Sindhudurga hotel with my friends and families. It is one of the best place in thane for non-veg malvani food.
Chicken handi and bhakri, dry chicken plate and kombdi vade are my best choise all the times.
Surmai fry is must try dish of Sindhudurga and at last solkadhi which makes the complete food.
One thing which need to improve is serving staff as they are not available on time and also some times we get cold food.
One of the best in thane region for the malvani non veg food.... It has the best kheema and chicken masal mad in authentic konkani/malvani style with lots of coconut....
If u r going here taste the chicken wada plate.... The wada is a typical bread like thing made in konkan part its delicious.....

First of all kudos to the restaurant owner who has transformed from just a roadside eatery to a huge restaurant. Would like to particularly say that Vegetarians don't even enter this restaurant, this restaurant is only for ardent non veg lovers even though there is veg menu on the card. Must say that this restaurant serves one of the best non veg food in thane at a very very affordable price. The taste in particular is homemade. Dry chicken plate and Vadas are must try in this restaurant, superb taste. Fish lovers can also have a great time with Pomfret and Bombil fry. I cut marks for the service staff who are not on their toes even if there is huge crowd coming into the restaurant, but by seeing the prices on the menu card I can say managing in meagre resources is difficult. Overall must try for non veg lovers in Thane and around
The atmosphere is very lively. The food is extremely delicious and the quantity is large. Seafood in typical Malvani style is their forte. The price is much less compared to quality as well as quantity.
This place happens to be my friends Favorite place to eat seafood, when in thane and now it has become mine too. The Food is tasty, being a seafood lover this happens to be one of the best places which make the food taste like the home made at home. Its not that pricey too. the Solkadi is to die for, which is almost the case in all malwani and seafood places.
There are times when no i travel from Vashi to Thane just to eat there :)
As long as the taste doesn't change, ill definitely be a regular here :)
PS: avoid this place of Upvaas (Fasting days) as the stocks are pretty limited on those days.. say Tuesdays for example.
As most of the reviewers have said..its a good place if you're a fish lover. Surmayi fry is a must try here. Its fresh, seasoned well, crispy, crunchy and juicy..absolutely lip smacking. Mutton keema fry is better than the regular keema as it doesnt have watery gravy. The bhakri is soft and huge. Chicken sukka has too much coconut still tastes pretty good.
The ambiance on the other hand is not very great. The crowd is shady and not very polished. But then you get what you pay for
I would not be going back again for average food..!

This place was one of the best in Thane for Malvani food 10 years back.Since then many new and better joints have come. I use to eat at this place quite often those days, but this place has gone out of my favourites list. This place use to be so crowded and we use to wait 15-30 mins for a table. Now this place has just the first floor, rest demolished. The AC room stays the same.
The cost of the food has gone up considerably. I use to love the bombil fry at Rs. 30 years back and then it was Rs. 60 a year back and now its Rs. 90 and Rs. 120/-
This place needs urgent renovation. Ambience needs to be improved, food and service need to improve in quality and quantity.
All said when you are here, do try the Fish fries...Bombil, Pomfret, chicken biryani and finish it off it the amazing solkadi (I always asked for another glass)

Truly a place to taste konkani/malvani food..quality & quantity of food will never disappoint you..though the ambiance and service is just average...but food makes up for it..also prices are not too high....
so on our last visit we had with us some non konkani frends...who wanted to taste our kind of food...
we ordered chicken handi with konkani vade. the best thing about konkani food.. and a perfect dish to test d authenticity of a konkani resto.&..believe me they really won us there..all of us were literally licking our fingers...then there was zinga fry which we ordered as a side dish,,,didn't quite like it.but.then there was that pomfret fry which was truly relishing .then even though we were full..some of my friends wanted to try crab masala...which again tasted so.damn delicious..also they had awesome solkadi without which konkani food is incomplete..yea i know we had too many things at once ...but we couldn't control..our taste buds. .. my all non konkani frends liked d food...made me kinda proud ... :-)
