Desire is my go to Chinese restaurant when in Thane West. The food is great in terms of quantity but a little improvement could do o. The quality bit. The service is good. Their soups and noodle preparations are a must try. All in all it's a pocket-friendly place with good food and can be visited with friends and family.Good Chinese food. Chicken quality can be better. I recommend this as it tastes like western side Chinese restaurants basis which 3 stars have been given. One question which i am keen to get a reply on whenever the owner reads this. Why do you charge for fried noodles for pick up and not charge while seated at your restaurant. Pssst... many customers are also not happy with the ambience. Dishes Tried : Wanton Soup is light with freshly prepared wantons dipped in a clear chicken soup no sauces added.
Chicken Nainkin Rice was good in terms of quantity. Taste wise its not that spicy but yes definetly tasty.
Mongolese Chicken as starter tastes thr same a Lollypop masala Dry only difference being that Mongolese chicken is boneless.
Do try this quite chinese outlet the ambience is good ,staff is courteous,quantity of the dishes is great so is the quality and price. Do try Desire Chinese.

The path to Chinese food lead to Desire for my first experience. Ordered a portion of Veg Chinese style flat noodles (requested for non spicy) and Chicken Triple Schezwan.
Firstly, the quantities were enormous. It can easily satisfy the hunger twice. The flat noodles were well done and had a good mix of many accompaniments. The Schezwan was just what it should be, spicy but not very. Had good quantity of chicken, both with noodles and the gravy.
I recommend this to fellow foodies. As far as I am concerned, will try something different next time.

The food was very nice and the food had a lot of quantity and very good quality. I am very satisfied as the food tastes very nice , i havent tasted such great food in entire mumbai. I would rate the service 4/5 but the food makes up for it. The food comes a little late on weekend rush hours but overall i love it.

One may easily miss this place, but one shouldn't as the chinese though Indo chinese its really a good bet.
This is located in the lane where there is no other places near by and thats whats make it unique.
From outside may me really think whether to enter or not but the opinion will change once u get in.
The main dining area is A/C which is a big boon. Though limited sitting they have spaced out tables. The ambience is unique with frames having interesting quotes and keeps engaging till you read all of them.
The service here is decent and the person taking orders is well informed about the dishes.

MANCHOW SOUP which was routine but good.
CHICKEN NANKING RICE was good but could have been better if coupled with gravy. The mix of rice and noodles with good taste, no colour and great quantity.
DESIRE SPECIAL NOODLES we had upon recommendation from the server and it was also good and one can definitely try.
This places offers very good desi chinese with food taste and quantity. Also they have thai menu which may be liked.
One of d best places for (Desi style) Chinese food lovers. Probable d only place in Thane to offer best of d food quantities & still hv a good taste & a very decent spread of menu. Amazing quantity of starters (beware & order limited). Never disappoints u in chicken love..!
Apart from d regular Chinese menu, their green Thai curry too makes u fall for it (if u r a Thai food fan of course π).

Amazing menu spread.. the only place in thane which offers so many exciting options in Chinese and Thai. I have tried their
Korean Rice - Its a green colour rice with humungous quantity and lots of veggies like baby corn, brocoli and chicken if you opt for Non veg. They use the fat long rice for this, so some might not like it. I personally don't have any issue because it tastes heavenly with the thai curry gravy
Thai green curry - full creamy coconut flavou@red curry - tastes delicious, A must try dish!!
Satay Chicken - Big sized pieces on skewers with Good taste
Chicken Lollipop - Very crispy and crunchy even at Home Delivery. Loved the schezwan sauce they provided along
Chicken in Lemongrass - Tastes decent and different due to Lemongrass flavour and lots of quantity
My only reason to give it 5 is because it deserves it and people should give it a try. If you expect an out of the world and authentic taste from such a small eatery at lower rates then please do not try this place, go to high standard places like Mainland China. The taste and Quantity (it's USP) it offers at such reasonable rate is commendable.

Desire is a delight for chinese lovers,it taste's different than your regular joints,the quantity is pretty good considering the price you are paying.The ambiance is nothing great,pretty average, there's an ac section but it is congested,if u stay nearby to it order it at your place.
Desire Chinese is located near tulshidham. It has an ample seating area. The service here is quick and the rates are reasonable as well.
They have sports screening ( tv ), which takes us to the place a lot of times during match days so that we can watch it together along with some Chinese food.
Monchow soup here is nice and tasty to begin with. The main course at times can turn out to be a bit oily. The first time I visited the place, the rice had an excess of salt which made the experience worse. But from the second time onwards it was perfectly luscious and flavor rich.

Ordered Friday night dinner from here. Though delivery took long, almost everything else was spot on!
We had ordered Schezwan Prawns & Chicken in Lemongrass and Peanut sauce as starters. Prawns and chicken were cooked perfectly. Respective sauces were also very good, especially the lemongrass one...Very unique.
Main course was Combination Rice, Chinese Flat noodles, Malaysian Curry Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken. The noodles had basil in them, which tasted surprisingly nice. It went very well with the coconut based Malaysian curry. Combination Rice was a regular decent affair, nothing much to write about. Sweet and Sour was disappointing as it was only sweet, could've been had as dessert.. Lol!
They have different options compared to your regular next door Chinese food joint. And those options did not disappoint.

I have ordered many times from this restaurant and never once have I been disappointed. The ambience here is not very pleasing so I prefer home deliveries......but then as far as the food is good I don't mind. Reasonable rates and great taste is quite a rare combo. The quantity is really good too.

Mushroom Manchurian : The taste was par , quantity was average.
Chicken Lollypop with sauce: The taste was more masala than actual meat, would have appreciated meatier pieces.
Chef's Special Rice (Chicken): A lot was expected from this dish, since I read from other reviews that it was great. The quantity was wholesome but taste was sub par.
Chicken Noodle with Oyster Sauce: The taste was good, quantity was also good.
Prawns fried rice: The quantity was great, the prawns wasn't fresh and taste was par.
(alternate order) Mushroom fried 1/5 : Tasted like normal fried rice. The quantity of mushroom was negligible, utterly disappointed from the quality of the of this dish

If you are reading this phone please ask the kitchen staff to reduce the amount of colour they are putting in the food, specially the schezwan sauce. It's been an hour since I ate and the colour is still on my fingers.
Amazing version of Indian Chinese food. The quantity is huge and a portion of rice/noodles can be more than sufficient for two people.
Tried der Chinese as I hav heard a lot about dem... Ordered a HOT N SOUR soup which had lots of veggies along with chicken. It ws a bit spicy but nt sour... Which actually turned out well...
Next tried the CHICKEN LOLLIPOP SCHEZWAN SAUCE on The Food Physician 's recommendation. These were amazing... ππππ.
Also tried Yamin Rice. The rice is covered in Manchurian sauce with soft pcs of chicken. The chicken was great but the gravy wasn't dat good. So didn't enjoy the rice..
Quantity is a lot so 1 Rice is good enough for 3 ppl if u hav it with starters n soup...

okay so all Chinese lovers in the locality , here u can get a good taste as well as quantity and also affordable. So to conclude i would suggest desire for a good taste in a low budget.
If you really think about it, living life as a Bachelor is not really easy. Especially if you're in Thane (Let's face it, Majiwada is not really Cuffe Parade now, is it?)
One of the biggest challenges of living this way would be affording real good food. And that's where Desire comes in. It's like if cheap food had a baby with taste. And if this baby was also Delivered (pun intended) brilliantly on time. Thats Desire for you. It's nice to find that in such a lonely life, the only little love we get is from the brilliant noodles, Zomato being our Tinder, Dilip Bhai being our Cupid.
I recommend this place, for they will satiate everything that their name stands for.
A perfect "Indian Chinese" Outlet. Spicy mouth watering food and much unlike other Chinese outlets this one's got a better reputation in the hygiene department. The quantity steals the show. I mean 3 people can eat quite a lot in one plate rice? A bit pricey though

Earlier desire was the only source of good chinese food for me, i used to hv parcel & also been there for dinin couple of times
The service is super fast & taste is upto the mark
its pricing is also pocket friendly
but recently other chinese joints have raised the standards of chinese cuisine to a different level, i wish management of Desire should also keep n eye on their competitors if they want to b in the market
I used to recomend this joint to every1 but being a true foodie i cant do so now as there are other better chinese joints in the area as well.
So desire managment pls take a call asap.

The food is good here. The quantity is good too. The quality is a bit off sometimes. The service is good. It's not a place where you should sit and eat. It's good as a take away restro only. Not perfect, though.
Perfectly located out of the city chaos. Food is very tasty. I ate chicken chilly my fav. Dish and Hakka noodles. Both wer good in taste..!! Prices are reasonable. It's a family retro. With a decent crowd mostly collage going students and families.
Ordered here last Friday after my friend recommended the place several times. We had Singaporean Chicken Noodles and Tomato soup.
The first thing that struck me was the quantity. Although my friend vouched that the extra cost was worth it, I never expected such huge portions, something Desire does well. The noodles were not typically over-spiced but rather perfectly done. The soup was the ideal foil to it, being rich in both taste and texture.
Despite being just two dishes, we ended up with full stomachs. Its always pleasant when you see that a place delivers on the extra charge.
Regarding ambience, I can't say much since I haven't dined at the place itself, but it seems fairly spacious enough for a small meal for 2-4 people, with about 4-6 tables in the entirety of the restaurant. Not meant for large groups but that's excused given the supreme quality of the food. Kudos!

I usually order rice whenever I am making any Chinese starters.
This review is only for the rice options that I have tried from desire on their take outs.
Yamin rice : comes with gravy mixed and Manchurian balls.

Chefs special rice : its primarily a subtle schezwan rice with heaps of mushrooms, eggs and small portion of chicken. This was my favourite. Its packed with flavour.

Korean Rice : this is not your typical Chinese. Its more of a long grain rice mixed with green gravy. I found it OK

One of my favourite chinese restaurant. They present you a good quantity of food without compensating with the taste and quality. The location is lil aloof. But who cares when the food is great. I will surely recommend it.

Have been to Desire since day of inception somewhere around 2013.Though ownership changed multiple times in last 9 years, there is no change in food quality and taste, this is constant. Only problem is with payment and home delivery. They do not accept card and home delivery is way below standard. It's better to order via Swiggy or Zomato to avoid delays. Packaging can be better and they can do away with use of plastic material. Overall Desire will have long lasting impression on me, long time after I move out of Thane

THE best Chinese food ive ever had in my life , orders might be late by 10 mins on weekends rush hours but the food is dope. I would say this restaurant guves rhe best chinese food in yours budget 2 - 3 ppl can eat in 1 plate of any rice or noodles. If you love chinese , this place is a must visit.

One of the few good places in Thane which offers good Chinese. Situation near Hyde Park in Thane this is very cosy joint where along with Chinese you get Thai food options.
