My first experience was not a very memorable one - in a nutshell, it had to do with the quality and quantity of the food. Post leaving a review on Zomato, the management was efficient enough to respond, address the issue, apologise for the experience as well as offer to send me the same order again. For the efforts put in by them to regain the confidence of a potentially lost customer , I decided to give them another go. So,ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich, Tuna Sandwich and the Messy Sandwich.
This time around the food was great ! We loved all of it. The pork filling was ample and the dressing was just right. The Tuna sandwich was much better too. And my personal favourite was the Messy Sandwich - oodles of egg, cheese, bacon and chicken - this would require you to run an extra mile but its totally worth it.
Overall I am happy with the food, customer service and their ability to bounce back. I Hope they maintain this consistency and I will be happy to order and try out more of their offerings.
Kudos Team !
So it's one of a kind cafe in Trivandrum because of the swiss food options. I have had bacon sandwich, spaghetti arrabiatta, cordon blue schnitzel, carbonara pasta among the main course items. They were goood of course, but gotta say they are expensive. I feel you get the same kinda quality food for much cheaper price in Kochi Cocoa tree and all.
I've had their affogato and chocolate cake from the desserts as well. Honestly, they can be better.
It's a quaint little place away from the main road, but they might wanna consider lowering the prices considering how the crowd in TVM might not frequently visit if the prices are on the higher side.
Kaffeehaus is a wonderful breakfast place if you would like some peace and quiet in the morning. You can unwind & have a decent heart to heart conversation with your date here. Although the food quantity may not be up to the mark, the food is up to standard here. Keep up the good work Kaffeehaus:) Taz James
The Swiss ambience created in the place is one of kind experience. Me being a coffee fanatic would say that this is the best coffee in the entirety of Trivandrum
We visited this place after our friends raved about the rosti... I had my doubts but when I tasted it, it was heavenly ......worth the price! Will try out other items the next time I visit... Keep up the good work
Loved the food and the vibe of the place... The people were very warm and friendly. I hope to be able to revisit this sweet cafe. Thank you!
This is an awesome place if you like Swiss food.
But its expensive.
If you want to do your work in a peaceful atmosphere go for it✌️ come here get a coffee nd do it. I tried the pancakes and rosti. It was good.
Kaffeehaus is a Switzerland themed eatery with a very good ambience and good staff team. We had their soup of the day which was a carrot based soup and my dad absolutely loved it, the tuna sandwich was very sumptuous and the Swiss cold chocolate which I had been wanting to try for a long time was really good up to the hype, perfect chocolateyness. The fondue was okay .The prices are also very reasonable and the service is very very fast, which won't disappoint you ever .Want to try out their breakfast menu soon
A nice place in Trivandrum to have some delicious desserts and Swiss/ Italian dishes.
1. [Spaghetti Napoli]
- 3/5
2. [Tuna Sandwich]
-4/5
3. [Rohe Rosti Mit Frischkase] - Raw Rosti with Cream Cheese
-4/5
4. [Nutella & Peanut Butter Crepes]
- 4.5/5 (An amazing dessert-Must try)
5. [Matterhorn] - Ice cream with white chocolate- 4/5(Must try for ice-cream lovers)
6. [Classic Cheese Cake]- 4/5 (These is for those cheese guys, really good one)
Best Recommends: Nutella & Peanut Butter Crepes
These are foods that I tried.
There are some other items too, but I guess the above items were good for a price of 1600/- .Enough for moderately eating 4 people.
This is not a place to have Arabic, Chinese or Indian dishes.
This is not place to have large quantity of food.
This is a nice place to try some Desserts and some Swiss/Italian dishes.
Went for the breakfast pretty cool place
Ambiance is nice
This place serves good Swiss menu
We gone with chicken rosti and tea with cream
Chicken rosti is a kind of a good breakfast i had and that filled my tummy too decent to the bucks
Tea with cream went good
overall a best place with good ambience and sevice
Overall 4.5/5
A beautiful restaurant in theme of Switzerland.
The ambience is pretty wonderful,
So we went to try the quail egg salad , and jura dessert which was made up of Panna cotta . Along with the cucumber lime juice and cold coffee.
.
Food was upto the mark and so was the hospitality. Would like to visit again for few more dishes.
Keep up the good work😊
Loved the ambience and the food. The highlight was that every dish had a balance of taste with nothing standing out which is very rare. Try their bacon salad
Kaffehaus for me defines balance in everything they serve. The chocolate milk, tuna and bacon salad both and the Nutella crepe will make sure that I go back whenever I am in Trivandrum. All of the ingredients used in the salad were super fresh with the dressing on point.
The service is very polite, friendly and prompt.
It was a pleasant surprise for us as we were looking a perfect place for a late lunch and a team meeting, we loved the warm ambiance and chilled out vibes going on. We at Whatsaround.city loves travelling and exploring the best a city can offer and it seems we did hit jack pot !
The swiss dish Rosti is a perfect potato dish with an option of chicken, bacon or veg. The pulled pork sandwich as well as the pasta bolognese was a star among the team.
We'd highly recommend the schnitzel and all the gourmet salads. Good job team kaffeehaus.
Kaffeehaus is probably a one of its kind cafe in Trivandrum. It is Swiss themed - you'll get that from the Menu and the dishes. I'd say it is slightly expensive compared to other offerings in Trivandrum but it is also good. It is a good place to bring your friends, date or family.
The best European Cafe in tvm, loved their bacon rosti, pulled pork sandwich and spaghetti Bolognese 😍 must try their panacotta, cheese cakes and Brownie as well.
vazhuthacaud is the best place to have dinner and caffeehaus chicken grilled salad is a must try and also the coffee is wow too good and the ambience is also good anyhow its in my neighbourhood just a walk away so 5 stars from my side ... all the best
Nice place to hang out, friendly staff
Neat and clean place
My all time favourite is Grilled Chicken Salad
A salad of fresh lettuces , tomatoes, cucumber, perfectly grilled chicken-deliciously seasoned
Cons: parking is a bit problem
Had good experiences from there. The staffs are really helpful n best place to hangout. The cafe is in a lane which is beneficial as it is away from the busy city. Food is really good and reasonable. The juicy taste of food proves their quality. The interior and exterior experiences of cafe is gud and they provides us the private dining spaces too. They ntrtain us to place order thru telephonic cnvrsatn and hence our tym being in the cafe could be saved. I suggest this to everyone who lovez Swiss fud...😋😋its really yumm...
Amazing place. The entire cafe is swiss based. Ambience is amazing. We tried the rosti with chicken and pasta Alfredo as the main course. Both were really tasty. Matterhorn is a must try. The ice tea was good too. Very friendly staff. Overall an amazing experience.
The food was good. The desserts especially JURA was awesome. Would highly recommend people to try it. The staff was polite and the ambience was also nice.
loved d food.. especially d droolworthy panna cotta..silky smooth n yummy..had ordered rosti which is a swiss dish.. similar to pancake..crispy outside.. buttery n soft inside..it was yummy..n white chocolate brownie wit white chocolate topping n vanilla icecream was also too good..
I love my coffee. It’s the perfect fix for a bad day and the perfect start to a good one.
So when I heard there was a new café in town, I had to pay my respects.
The Location
Kaffeehaus is a Swiss Café on MP Appan Road, Vazhuthacuad, tucked into the ground floor of a corner building in this quiet neighborhood.
Parking is a problem. You need to find a spot to squeeze your car into, on the narrow lane. My suggestion would be to take the first option you see on the road and walk down.
The Interiors
It’s a small cozy space, very well laid out. Attention has been paid to keeping the interior minimal and still in keeping with the theme.
A bold black color scheme with a dash of red, calling your attention to the Swiss Cross on Crockery, and other flourishes on the walls.
Seating options need a mention here with one of the few places in town with outdoor seating and also a long bar counter style option for those ‘single and not ready to mingle’ customers.
The Food
We made 2 trips to the place. The menu is limited and serves swiss classics, many of which were new to me. On the first occasion we tried the Choc Brownie with Ice cream and a good old Cold coffee.
Both were spectacular. Soft spongy warm Brownies topped off with Vanilla Ice cream and the Cold Coffee was frothy and well balanced.
On the second occasion we dug deeper into the menu. We chose the “Soup of the Day” – Potato and Carrot Soup accompanied by a Veg Pasta Salad.
The Soup was creamy and a tad salty but still flavoursome. The Veg Salad was quite wholesome topped off with toasted pumpkin seeds and crotons – Read Yum!
For the Mains we chose the Rosti – a swiss classic dish, similar to Hash Browns. Shredded Potato, Fried and topped with cheese. Very rich and quite filling. They have variations with chicken and bacon toppings.
We followed this up with the Grilled Chicken in Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce, grilled vegetables and potato. This didn’t go so well. There was way too much cream on the fried chicken breast. The texture of the sauce was completely off the mark with the sauce literally holding its shape when you scoop it on a fork! The vegetables were over salted and burnt.
Nevertheless we decided to give dessert a try and opted for the chocolate fondue. The order took close to 15mins to arrive. Cut fruits served with melted chocolate should not have taken that long. But the wait was well worth it. The fun of dipping long forks into a bowl of cut fruit and dipping it in chocolate brought us all out in giggles. It was delicious.
The Cost
Pricing is moderate-high. A meal for 3 cost us 1200.
The Verdict
It’s a great addition to the café scene in Trivandrum. The only grouse I have is with the speed of service which on both occasions was extremely slow. But the food well makes up for it.
Well worth a visit and wish the team every success!
Great food and very friendly staff. Small space with very few tables but still a must visit place in Trivandrum . Parking is a concern.
The place is a bit hard to locate without maps
Finally done with this long awaited visit! Kaffeehaus Trivandrum is a bit difficult to locate and Google maps definitely needs updating.
However, once you reach and get a comfortable table, it's a great experience! The staff is very friendly and service is top notch.
Food is brilliant with a great variety on the menu. One must try this cafe out! Cheers!
We decided to have a quiet brunch this Easter and were not disappointed here at all. The bread was fresh and the sausages surprisingly tasty. Bacon and mushrooms on the side were good but the quantity served was too little. The ambience was informal and homely. The overall experience was good. We had french toast and their house special breakfast.
Small cafe in the heart of the city mostly banking on Swiss influences.
Parking might be a hassle. Interiors are simple and hygienic.
Rösti and it's variants are on point. Sandwiches are wholesome and filling. Breakfast platter options are another go-to on their menu. Coffee is good. Would've liked a better, smoother hot chocolate however.
Staff were prompt.
Food is excellent both in terms of taste and quality of ingredients. Not your typical steak/sizzler place with a good range of speciality items in the menu. Small but neat place. A tad expensive though.
Great food and great service. They have section Kafeehaus specials in their menu. Tried couple of things from it and they were really good. Also tried their sandwich which was average, not that great. But their specials and hot chocolate was really good. The person who took the order was polite and friendly and explained to us about the their specials. The only things they could improve a little bit is the waiting time. It was bit on the higher side. Rest everything is perfect.
I order in more than I dine in at Kafeehaus, their bacon and cheese sandwich is really good. I do often have to remind them to please add more cheese time to time ;) when we do dine-in I would recommend trying the cordon bleu Schnitzel if you are in the mood for some ham and cheese along with the standard schnitzel. The ambience once upon a time was super unique and gave the Swiss vibe strongly with wallpaper and the utensils. But no effort has been taken since to make the place look better or upbeat. This restaurant is super tucked away and is not a place someone would stumble upon randomly. There are no dedicated parking spots per se, one must park on the main road and hope that you wouldn’t contribute towards a traffic block. For this place to do really well, they need super charged staff which is not the case currently, they need to really up their coffee game, the cappuccinos are terrible, over roasted coffee with milk, no real thick foam or latte art. I am glad I stick to espressos and do not pave way to get disappointed. I hope this place really picks up again. I have also ordered their loaded fries, now I don’t the proportion is really off when you order this as a takeout. The pizza’s follow authentic naming - one would then assume it’s super Italian by the description but to dismay only uses their available ingredients and is typical to any local pizza you would buy in Trivandrum, no effort spent on researching the Italian way of making dough, sourcing the best ingredients like fresh mozzarella, burrata, Parmigiano, basil, cherry tomatoes, and excellent olive oil.
It’s sad when people venture out thinking they are going to do something great but end up giving just ordinary food. Running an authentic restaurant is tough, if you are going to compromise down the line, don’t begin it in the first place.
Hope Kafeehaus will have a new story to tell - one that’s going to put them on the map again.
Nice ambience. Good food but for me, it really wasn't a wow yet when compared to other restaurants with the same price range. Tad pricey. Sandwich was different. They had a huge bread but it could be more exciting. The potato chips was just not the right add to the sandwich. Felt it wasn't matching. Parking is an issue on MP appan road but worth a visit once. I am yet to try the desserts. Was expecting the real chocolate instead of powder for the chocolate milk.
Visited the place last weekend.
PROS
Nice calm location..
Good ambience.. Wonderful interiors and really nice feel. Nice place to hangout..
Good food.. No complaints whatsoever.
Good options too ..
We actually ordered twice just because we loved it that much.
CONS
Location. Its not easily noticeable and too interior.
Limited or no parking facility.
When it comes to food, the service is slow.
That's the only complaint.
Overall really good place.
Had Pasta Chicken Marinara from Kaffehaus. Food was really good. But had to wait for a long time to get the food.
It's one of my go to places in Thiruvananthapuram to eat if I have some money to spare. The Quail egg salad is one if my favorites. The coffee is always good and the chocolate is tasty if a little less in quantity.
Great food. Interesting menu including Swiss cuisine. Nice ambience. Friendly staff. Kids friendly. Convenient location
Good ambiance. Nice food.. Only issue is waiting time. And to an extend menu is not understandable (i had to ask and order 😂 ) may be i not used to swiss cuisine...
Visiting this place after more than 2 years and I should say, it's good as always! ❤️ To start off, the ambience of the place is classy, neat and we'll utilised. This place used to serve the best hot chocolate, and still holds up to it, that we ordered it again. The grilled chicken salad was little bland and we had to ask for mayonnaise to make it taste better. The chicken bolognese pizza (comes in 8") was damn good! The flavoured latte macchiatto (with vanilla flavour) tasted more like normal coffee. Overall the ambience of the place and decent food gives a different vibe to the place.
A quaint cafe tucked away in one of the several byroads around Vazhuthacaud. Though small, the place has an appealing ambience with nicely done interiors. The menu is as European as it gets and scores a perfect 10/10 on the taste quotient. The service is prompt. The place is a bit pricey though. All in all, a must-visit place for those craving for an authentic European spread.
A cozy swiss themed café offering a variety of sandwiches, pasta, spaghetti, risotto, pizzas, hot and cold beverages etc. My personal favorite is the bacon and cheese sandwich served with a side of coleslaw and potato chips. Very filling and delicious. Also tried the pasta meat bolognese which was also very tasty. They have really good milkshakes and cold coffee too. Overall, a very nice place to visit. There is indoor as well as outdoor seating. Gpay, cash and card payments are available. Parking is difficult.
Absolutely wonderful. A warm and cozy place to just sit down and enjoy the flavors the Swiss have to offer. The waiting staff were super friendly and the interior design succeeds in taking you to a different world, far away from the residential areas of Vazhuthacaud. Everything we bought tasted amazing. The subtle flavored iced tea to the flavor packed spaghetti. Every bite wowed us. We had an almost full course meal for two which would leave us satisfied till the next day morning. A wonderful experience.
I had high hopes coming to this restaurant, and I was mostly satisfied. I was expecting a different type of cuisine than the standard Thiruvananthapuram food. By the way, I went with 5 other people. We ordered 2 pastas, 1 fried chicken piece, 1 chicken rösti, and 1 fish dish. The food was absolutely spectacular and succeeded all of my expectations. However, the waiting was a bit too much for my liking: 30 minutes after ordering, we still didn't get our food, and we had to ask the waiter to speed up the process so that we can receive hot meals. Aside from that, the food and service is exemplary.
