Last time I was here was more than a decade ago when this was “Indian coffee house”. So naming this the “old coffee house” brings back memories. Seems they only have outdoor seating , but the view is today’s the shore so a great pace to have dinner by sunset. The food is great and service is great.
This beach restaurant is cool. Nice beachy setup, good food choices that match the vibe. Service is okay, proces are fair for the chill atmosphere. Overall, a good spot for a relaxed beachside meal.
Reach the spot by 5 and enjoy the ambiance with Tea/coffee with cutlet and enjoy the beach. Later come back by 7 for the Dinner options.

Today our visit to the Old Coffee House was a culinary journey with a mix of hits and misses.
The BBQ chicken wings, while not extraordinary, offered a decent flavor, but the Prawns fry fell short of expectations.
The real stars of the today meal were the Appam and Fish Moly. The Appam's delicate texture paired perfectly with the rich and flavorful Fish Moly, creating a combination that truly stood out.

The ambience is really nice with external seating. The food is satisfactory and arrived on time. There could be crowd at times but the ambience drowns the waiting period- a good place to hang out with friends. The mojito was very good, the curries were bit loose in consistency. The tea & coffee is really impressive.
After seeing many negative reviews I was doubtful to visit here. But the food was good, evening vibes in a beach side made a feel good factor. Service and ambience was ok.There is no parking facility near the restaurant.

Good place with good food. We tried vegetarian and it was pretty good. Definitely try the egg appam here. Chai is decent too. Nice place on the beach for a good evening snack and dinner.
Old coffee house carries an old world charm. The view from the cafe makes it worth for anyone visiting this place. I OCH a couple of times and late evening is probably the best time to be here. The hot cutlet and strong tea are ones to die for. Chicken Sandwich was ok, could have been better. The service is fast and vibe is chill. A good place to sit and sip a coffee after a walk to the beach, I say.
Excellent atmosphere. Clean and tidy place. They offer decent food and the view of the beach is just beautiful from here. The price is affordable and good customer service too. One of the must go to places at Shangumugham for a calm relaxing time to enjoy to the fullest.
The nool Paratha is soooo good. Flaky, buttery, just right. Just the thing to eat after a long walk up and down the beach on a chilly evening :)
An amazing restaurant with a different variety of options for food both traditional and continental. The service was also good and the quality of the food also. They have different flavours of kombucha drinks also available. A must visit place if you are looking for a restaurant with a beautiful view from the sea❤️
