One of the vintage eateries in Tvm that has survived the ages. Known best for their budget friendly, good food. The red chilli chutney served with pretty much anything is one of their highlights.

Meals, tiffins, snacks, they all all served in a no nonsense fashion - if you are looking out for ambiance and table service, you'd be disappointed. Personal experience with Ambalapattu for me runs back for at least 25 years and I still frequent the place when I am in town - not for extraordinary food, but for good food that I can definitely come back for.

This place has been serving really good chammanthi (chutney) consistently for a long time. Unique and wonderful taste. Equally good is their beef roast.

Amazing place for basic style Porotta and Beef fry, Beef if fried masala rich. Eat along with their iconic tea. The place is vary basic, a typical old food joint. It is not that ambient style well maintained hotel, the neatness is basic, a bit hot crowded. Its for those who like that local setup and grab a quick meal

Beef fry was properly cooked and delicious, but the quantity was real low for the price and the parotta was average so the combo didn't work for us.

With respect to food, Dosa and Chutney they provided was the best I've ever had from outside. I often say to my mom that the only thing that would give a tight competition for her culinary expertise would be this one. Regarding the ambiance it's almost 50+ years old and kept in the same way around. Somehow the place gives you a time travel feel. Service is normal and regular. You won't have to get an appointment with the bearer to order the food. The owner seems very welcoming.

Taste wise, it’s a real gem. The dosa, chammanthi and beef fry we had there were among the best we had in Trivandrum. The place is around 50 years old. Not sparkling clean, but it’s a old time chayakkada sort of place. Go before 6 if you need milk in your tea or coffee. Towards closing time, you only get black tea and coffee.

Ambalapatt restaurant's history goes back to the 1970s. Still now they are serving tasty foods. Their dosa and chutney is exceptional. It's a small restaurant, don't expect much ambience.

"Ambalapatt restaurant has a rich history dating back to the 1970s, and their tradition of serving delectable food still continues. Their dosa and chutney, in particular, are exceptional. Keep in mind that it's a small restaurant, so don't anticipate elaborate ambiance."

Being a beef fry addict, always looking out for the best places to taste some authentic beef fry. One such place is Ambalapatt Hotel which is an institution in beef fry for a long time. The beef fry here is different to the beef roast style u get from other legendary Trivandrum places like GP Hotel or Good morning hotel. Topped off with a bit more coconut oil and tingly masalas, pair it with their crispy and soft parottas or go for a combo with their meals. I can guarantee, u will be grinning from ear to ear.

they serve classic 'nadan' food 😋 was love at first bite 🥰... but they could've made the place a little better... the 'ambience' is pathetic... 😔

Taste - 8/10 Ambience - 4/10 Quality of service - 6/10 Cost - 100 for two on an average. They offer amazing Chammanthi along with good Dosa. It's worth giving a try if you're around the place. It's an old restaurant who serves very limited items and don't expect great ambience and all. You can have good food in a pocket friendly way. Also tea items are good. The restaurant is easily accessible from the main road. It's exactly opposite to the LIC building. Parking is bit complex as there's only road side parking is available. Overall it's a small hotel where you can go for a quick bite in pocket friendly manner.

Decades old restaurant in Pattom. Breakfast and Dinner options are great. Vegetarian and Non vegetarian foods are available. Heavy meals are above average. Budget friendly. Good place for a quick bite. They provide Tea time specials. Overall it's a good option to dine in at.

A well known shop, in existence for over 50 plus years. It gives the feel of an 80s restaurant once inside. All typical Kerala food is available. Tea is ready at 7 AM. However, If you want their parippu vada it will be 7 30. Not spic and span like modern restaurants, but no compromises on quality of food. The staff may also seem aloof, but are quite decent fellows, and the are helpful.
