An authentic north indian experience from a restaurant located away from the busy streets. The restaurant is family run and PURE VEGETARIAN. The owners are very polite and caring. Their staff live in the premise and the owner's live in a home behind the restaurant. Be aware that this restaurant is cash and google pay only. They do not accept cards ( funny story behind that - ask the owner ) . the food is amazingly well made and you feel a mothers touch with the food here. The place is very professionally run in my opinion. They have a good following and repeat customers. Not surprised since the food here is great. Great ambience and neatly maintained bathrooms too. Will definitely visit this place again in the future.
Great place to Dine out with family. Not much of a crowd now. The food is really tasty and worth the price on Menu. The place is well kept and the staff are really friendly.
Parking enough for 3-5 cars.
Great North Indian vegetarian restaurant. Clean, well maintained and good for family. Polite staff. Like their food. Located at a quiet neighborhood. Limited basement parking. Highly recommend.
Lovely restaurant... First time in Trivandrum having some authentic North Indian food... Peaceful ambience and soft lighting inside the restaurant... Pricing is also pocket friendly... Owners are really friendly and does chat with every customer at the table... Thanks a ton for wonderful evening and food... Surprised with awesome tea... Will be coming again for more food...
One of the best north Indian restaurant in Trivandrum.
Paratha are really tasty. Chole curry is must try. Lassi is also yummy. good parking facility is available.
Great Taste, Great Ambinece, honest staff, the list goes on; Words are not enough to describe this place. This place is an excellent choice for anyone who love north Indian food. Prices are bit on the higher side, but the food is worth it.
One of the best pure vegetarian North Indian taste in whole Trivandrum....
Tasty food, calm atmosphere warm reception.
Good!
Quantity and Quality.
Had Dal Khichdi and Dahi. It was delicious.
Little expensive but the food is worth it.. A pure veg veg restaurant with a nice ambiance
A good North Indian restaurant with a decent variety of dishes. The dishes are delicious and very affordable. It felt as if I had taken a trip to North India. If you are in the area, please visit this place. It is a good place to dine with family and friends.
Even though the restaurant is bit out of the way it has good ambience, taste of food is good.
The only negetive side I saw is that there is not enough car parking space, hardly 3 cars can be parked.
The owner of the restaurant welcomes you with a big smile .☺️
Visited this place yesterday for the first time after they relocated from Vazhuthacaud junction.
This is a North Indian style pure vegetarian restaurant and this time around also the restaurant did not disappoint. The new place is appreciably larger and neatly furnished without being opulent. It is brightly lit, and is full of white/off-white colours giving it a very cheerful, airy and welcoming look. We were late (reached the place at about 9:20 PM) and probably for that reason it was not crowded. The three of us ordered two vegetarian main courses and 4 different stuffed "Parantha"s on the side. The vegetables were delicious and so where the breads. Finished the dinner with a couple of iced teas and a cold coffee. These were nothing fancy but still tasted acceptable. On the whole we had a very good meal, and left feeling quite satisfied with the experience.
Regarding cost, the whole meal cost us INR 910/- so I guess it makes the place a mid-range restaurant. The important thing is that the overall quality of the food served made us feel like it was money well spent.
This is a pure vegetarian restaurant and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty northern Indian style vegetarian dinner.
The only downside I can think of is it's location at Aakkulam, which is very far away for city dwellers like us. Should be close enough for people coming from the Technopark side though.
Edit : Visited this place once again last Sunday (7th Nov 2021) after a long gap. The place did not disappoint but lived up to all our expectations. Great food as ever, reasonable rates as always, absolutely one of my favorite restaurants.
And one thing I would like to add. This is probably the only place, where I have had a north Indian dish in Thiruvananthapuram, and not found a thick coating of grease on my fingers when I go to wash my hands after the meal. And you never walk away with a feeling of a bloated tummy - which is all too common after a full meal at any of the other restaurants around Trivandrum and elsewhere.
A great place that I would recommend to anyone at any time looking for a delicious North Indian vegetarian meal, one which is not too heavy on your pocket either.
Negatives? The only negative that I can think of, is a limited dessert menu - they have only Gulab Jamun, and Ice Creams. But considering the quality of their food, I don't think this is going to affect my preference for this place one bit!
Wonderful ambience and great food! It is the place to go if one yearns for authentic homely North Indian food. The food is reasonably priced and is served with warmth and affection. All the best for the new beginnings at Aakulam!
Awesome service. Lovely ambience. Extremely its suitable for families. Delicious foods.
Positives :
1) Very tasty North Indian cuisine
2) The new location at Aakulam has a good ambience- a lot better than the earlier (now closed) place at Vazhuthacaud
3) Good service
4) Good place for families
Negatives :
1) A bit pricey, but the food is very much worth it.
2) Limited parking (max 3 cars), but can park on the road side. Not very heavy traffic at the location .
Hope the restaurant maintains this high standard in future.
The place at a glance looks like a flat/house converted to a restaurant. Nevertheless the food tastes authentic and homely.
