On Sasthamangalam Vellayambalam Road and Parking is limited available and need to depend on the main road. Good restaurant and nice ambiance. Food is good and enough quantity. Rates are not less but above average.
This is a very nice dinner place.
Food was delicious.
Service was good as well.
Staffs were patient.
We visited Dar Es Salaam Resto in April 2023 for dinner. The restaurant is located in Shastamangalam - Vellayamblam road and is quite easy to locate with the boards outside. There is limited parking space available for two to three cars only.
The lobby is quite well done with decent waiting space. When we went, there were tables available so no wait was there.
They have a big variety in the menu including north indian, south indian and African dishes.
We tried the cream of chicken soup, mutton masala and garlic naan along with lassi and ginger lime.
The service was very good and the staff had good knowledge about the items in the menu and even helped us decide the dishes.
The food was served quickly and the items were quite good. We found salt levels in the mutton a tad too low for our taste but other than that everything was perfect.
The ambiance is quite good and cleanliness levels are great too.
Nice Ambience. Variety of continental dishes available. African, chinese, arabic, north indian dishes are all available. I recommend more of African dishes from here, which is worth a try. Reasonable price for the facilities provided. Staff are all welcoming and took time to explain about the dishes in the menu which we are not aware. Overall a good experience.
Really Awesome experience. Quality and delicious food. Nice ambiance and attractive service. Treat customers like their real guests. Altogether had a satisfactory feel over the restaurant. Thank You 🥰
This restaurant has a huge menu consisting of Indian Chinese Kerala and African dishes. The person was patient enough to explain all the different dishes and even recommended few for me to try. I ordered Mayayi Chips with Beef which was very tasty. The prices were also quite affordable. I will definitely return and try some of their other delicacies.
Good restaurant, good ambiance and good service. We went with a hopes of trying out some African cuisine , however, there were 3 options mainly. Mayayi Chips or chicken or beef, chicken shakela.
We ordered Mayayi chips chicken, chicken shakela. Mayayi chips is nothing but omelete with chicken keema. Not spicy at all, however, I find it really heavy for one person. It is really filling.
Chicken shakela was splendid, fantastic spices, a finger licking good :D
They suggested another dish, I forgot the name, it has cocunut based curry on top if rice. It reminded of Thai green curry with rice with a ton of curry leaves and red chilies. Although took time clearing of curry leaves and chillies, the dosh tasted really good.
The ambience is really good. Owner is a friendly person. He helped us to pick the dishes. Price is very reasonable. They have the best garlic naan in Trivandrum. Ordered chicken shakela and a beef tight(a semi gravy beef dish). Chicken shakela is a grilled chicken. It comes under African special dishes in their menu. But it was a normal grilled chicken. The beef smells so good. Even it tastes different than other beef pirattu that we get from other places. Overall it was a nice experience.
The food was good.. But if u com alone.. U can experience their special dishes as they recommend.. Coz, quantity is big..
Wow! 👈 It means all positive things about appetite. Never miss this place if you are looking for yummy food. In my opinion here is better varieties of taste melts. Lovely staffs and One of them Mr Avinash from Kannur South, done good relationships with customers. He has very well experience around the world. Tried Chicken Shakela, 'Nool' Paratha- One of the best in Trivandrum (No more oil), soup- Cream of Mashroom 😋, Chicken dry fry👌side dips have special magical taste. 😍😍😍😍 Meet again.
The decor is well done with an inclination to an age old cafe you'd see. I was under the impression that the resto was focused in bringing out flavors of Africa to the city. I was however welcomed with only flavors of South India with little to no direction into any other dishes. I was appalled to identify that they did everything else well except their service. Since the staff were young and new to the hospitality industry, they were not aware as to how to serve as also were perplexed about the dishes there. A decent Indian restaurant with fancy prices.
I seldom give 5 star rating for any restaurant, unless it is that good. Dar Es Salaam was quite good, with taste, quality, quantity and ambience at its best. We ordered couple of African dishes and all were good. The Indian dishes were good as well! We could see the kitchen and it was neat and clean.
The dishes were quite good in portion size and taste. The African dish called Mayaya Chips resembled Spanish masala, but the oth fried potato inside. The Chicken shakila was like Al Fam, but had a different taste.
Tables were quite huge to accomodate 8-9’people. All tables were huge like this. Should try to have few smaller ones as well. This will help to get that “resto” feel!!!
The price was quite ok as well. We didn’t feel it too be on the higher side. Paid around 2500₹ for4 people.
If you haven't tried out African dishes, this is a must visit spot. I don't know many places that offer this much variety of dishes. Tried their chicken Shakeela, Dar reshmi and a Chinese fried rice which I haven't had before,
The sauce on top is wat makes it unique. Pricing is a bit higher than normal. But taste wise it's worth it.
Do check them out.
Favorite restaurant.. Food is delicious..the ambience is decent.. My all time favorite is the chicken biryani.. Must go place ❤️
