Iruttu kadai halwa (dimlight halwa shop) was famous all over tamilnadu.but the over use of ghee make it grain structure so whoever expecting soft shiny reddish halwa may fail towards it. location: opposite to nellaiyapar temple

A must try in Tirunelveli. Buy halwa for 25rs which is served piping hot in a banana leaf. 1 kg price is 340rs. The shop is crowded. So go early to get the amount you desire.

Crowded.opened in 5PM.I bought 1 Kg - 2 nos 1/2 kg Rate Rs 340 . Worth for money. Because of taste crowd , next Shanthi Halwa shop rate 240/ Kg but no one bought there. So everyone know where we get right product.. Some one buy 5kg, 7Kg .. i think very few only buy 1/4, 1/2 kg.. 4PM i saw Lord Sri Nellaiappar and Sri Kandhimathi After that i got this sweets. Priceless Gift both happen without any struggle

Not sure what to say, but if i have to summarise, was disappointed. First we picked up 100 gms , for 25 Rs. Usually it is piping hot, but to our dismay, it was not. Even the taste was tad ordinary.

This famous centenarian halwa shop has changed its activities in tune with the change of times, retaining its old-shop-look, however. Now it is open throughout the evenings with unlimited supply for consumers, a direct contrast to its hoary past. But it doesn't accept GPay, Credit cards etc., for obvious purposes - all cash transactions only - the reasons anyone is easy to presume in this digital payments world! The shop has however opened online delivery...

Located opposite nellaiyappar temple. It's a very small shop . Ask any person in the city will show the way to the shop . It's that famous in the city. The shop opens at 5 in the evening and open till 8 at night.. it's only one sweet which the shop is famous for and it's halwa. This shop has been there for 123 years and it has never been expanded still operates from the same place. It's available in half kg packing as well as 1 kg packing. It's 340 for 1 kg. It's neatly packed and it can be used for 12 days after purchase.

The experience was fun to purchase halwa from Iruttukadai shop. The queue started at 4 pm and the shop opened around 4:45. The packing was neat and ready for the quantity that you need and billing was ready as well. On an average one had to spend around 30 minutes. The quality of Halwa is still the same over the years.

Thirunelveli = Halwa Halwa = iruttu kadai halwa The shop stands for its quality without nameboard and people find it out with crowd infront of the shop..... What an amazing shop for its authentic quality of halwa in the evening time. Shop opens at 4pm and closed as soon as halwa gets over. You would really love the taste of halwa for 10rs in a banana leaf and carry few 1/2 kg pockets to home for sure. Pros-- quality of halwa, worth for money, strength of a shop without nameboard Cons- Too much crowded, no customers satisfaction interest of handling, Last but not least to add up the taste few kaaram/mixture and some variety Located in the beautiful nellaiappar temple opposite and you can park your vehicle it in the opposite parking area.

Great quality product.. Taste never changed across years.. Store opens from 5pm in the evening and a long queue is expected always. But don't worry, you can buy in 10 to 15 minutes wait period. The shop closes at 7pm in the evening. If you miss to buy here, you could still get it in their family shop named Visalam sweet stall (shop no 40). No Gpay or any UPI mode of payment unavailability is still a concern. They get only cash and you can get packets only in 500g or 1kg pack. There is no limit for one person to buy. Earlier they had the standard of 2kg per person. Now its not like that. Great shop and a remarkable landmark.
