Best Thatte Idli Hotel, a must stop while traveling to b'lore, even the dosa items will be incredible and even has a juice center for refreshing time.

This is right in the edge of the highway onto Tumkur. The place is small and full of people to the brim. So you might expect some wait time to be served. The idli is flat, fluffy and soft. You can add the optional butter if you want (In my opinion it’s worth it) and pair it with the tad spicy chutney. I wouldn’t call the best idli I have had so far but it’s definitely good.

Place is packed when visited at 2pm, there’s also waiting for this restaurant. Many of the Tumkur residents do not recommend this place, but this still ends up being one of the most popular places close to the highway and serves Tatte Idli. Coming to Idli, it’s good, the chutney and Sambar is slightly spicy, they use a good amount of Red Chillies. They also have benne / butter which is an Ad-On. It reminded me of Bidadi Tatte Idli Vada. Vada was also good, crispy and freshly prepared. I prefer Bidadi Tatte idli over this one, as here it’s quite evident that it’s just more spice in Sambar and Chutney. Coffee is also not that great, the filter did not seem freshly made. Atmosphere is decent, they have posters of famous Kannada actors. The washrooms don’t seem clean. Not sure why they cannot maintain clean washrooms. Regular cleaning would be helpful. Parking is currently a little challenge as there’s Some work going on.

Kyatsandra is famous for Thatte Idli and Pavitra Idli is the best restaurant in the vicinity. However, now the hotel seems to be overrated and expensive. We found the Mini Masala Dosa to be tastier than the Thatte Idli and even the Coffee was awesome. It’s definitely recommend for a one time experience and a perfect spot to have breakfast whenever Enroute in that road.

We went here for breakfast. It is an old hotel located on the National Highway at Kyatsandra. Thatte idli, Vade and dose taasted great. Service was quick. I would say it as a great place for idli. On the flip side, parking is limited. The flyover construction in front of it adds to challenges.

Thatee idli and with Vada was served hot. Chutney and sambar as nice. If you need extra in each table there is a jug full of chutney and sambar.

If you are looking for an authentic idly with chatni then this is the place. Best place to stop for breakfast on the way to hampi or Pune. It's very near to tumkur and i feel it's something very famous among the locals. Very difficult to find a space in the morning breakfast time but you will love the wait once you have the idli with a cube of butter at the top served in a very traditional way.

Nice place. I loved vada and dosa more than idli strangely. Idli was good but not that i have never tasted before, it was just normal idli. I loved the samabar and chutney they were quite fresh. But vada was lit 👌 so crispy and fluffy.. dosa was equally good (again not great just good). Coffee was below average. Quality wise absolutely good no complaints. What they have to really improve is the token system, at first when you go inside it is not evident if it is self service or they serve you at table. I found out that there are both service options, i opted for self service as that's the quickest way to get. I loved the fact that sambar and chutney are kept on each table, pour as much as you want 😀 On weekdays it might get crowded, i went on weekday and i found a table for myself

Good place for food. The location is always crowded with people. Very limited space for parking. Self service inside the restaurant. However they do serve to vehicles (not sure how and whom to be asked for this service). Prices are slightly higher side one may feel. But taste is next level. Idli was melting soon it was kept in mouth. Butter idly Vada - the thatte idly iterally just melts as you eat. Tastes very good. This place is usually crowded, however service is very quick. This is one of the must try thatte idly place in kyathsandra Tumkur

(UPDATE) : visited again, 3-4 years later today and they've kept up their standards. The idlis are soft fluffy, the vadas are incredible as well! The potato filling lacked salt but the other items more than made up for it! Try going on a weekday, super crowded but manageable. Probably my most favourite place to eat thatte idli at, perfect pitstop while going to Tumkuru. We tried their thatte idli and their benne dosa, both were to die for with beautifulll dollops of butter on top and delicious chutney on the side. The vadas were crisp and yum! A must visit.

The hotel has a brief history since 80s the hotel has been iconic, over time the taste has changed. The USP of this hotel is that the ingredients are sourced from genuine places, like chillies from Guntur, same with butter and other ingredients. The only reason why hype is not met coz chefs have changed. But it definitely has a good taste. Yet cost is too high because of ingredients and it's near the highway.
