I often visit Udaipur for my works. Recently I went to this place with my family for their famous Thal. The food was really awesome with tremendous variety. The ambience was of proper Rajasthan Style.

Finally I got a gud restaurant in udaipur, they are serving yummy Rajasthan nd Gujarati thali,Had a very nice experience .
Absolutely a great place but little expensive I don't understand why. Same menu, same taste the only difference is the ambience. I enjoyed a lot, some dishes were spectacular like khichdi(the best I ever had). Laddu were delicious. Paneer was excellent. Must try.

This place ambience is very good and most importantly the food was very delicious and the service is pretty fast and I think price was a bit high and it is easy to locate as it is near udaipur railway station. I loved the thali very much and I surely recommend this place when you are in udaipur.
Best food. Went to udaipur and saw the place on zomato. Directly walk-in it had some 10 min waiting time. Food was amazing should Gondh Paak and basundi. Costs Rs 250/ person. There are hell lot of things to eat. Ambience was good. I would say everything was good except for a little slow service and the lights were very dim, may be a concept, but I didn't like it. All over it was a good experience.

Gordhan Thali - A Thali Restaurant....
To start with, Gordhan Thali restaurant t is the next best alternative to Natraj Thali Restaurant which happens to be another thali restaurant that is only much more popular in Udaipur.
After waiting for a while outside, we were asked to enter and ended up surprised to find that the entire ground floor of the restaurant was completely empty. The restaurant was packed on the first floor but it was beyond my understanding as to why guests were asked to wait when the restaurant was literally half empty.
We started with our lunch and the Gujarathi-Rajasthani mix thali began to fill steadily. The thali is unlimited and almost 20-25 items are served to you, including the pickles etc.
The dal bati churma here was the best part of the plate. The entire plate tasted good and it felt great to be having this mix of traditional dishes.
The service here starts quick but later on we had to call out to the staff for whatever we wanted. At the end of our meal we realised that we were served atleast two items less as compared to other guests.
The entire thali comes at a price of 270/- which is budget-friendly but higher when compared to its contemporaries.

This massive unlimited thali that I had in @gordhanthal in udaipur is a must have. It is among the best places to satisfy your marwadi food cravings. It has something for everyone. From dal baati churma to hot ghee loaded fulke, a variety of vegetables and sweets. The menu keeps changing everyday.
Its priced at Rs.270 which is quite a deal for an unlimited serving.

Stumbled upon this place while searching for unlimited thali restaurants near my hotel. Turned out there were lots of famous places.
This place is near to the railway station of Udaipur. The entrance was Royaly decorated just like a palace. The place is quite and has a dim setting.
You will only get their special unlimited thali.
At the time of writing this, the price was ₹270 per person. The menu changes daily with lots of variety in every course.
Dishes tasted:
👉 Farsan
Sandwich dhokla: small bites size white Dhokla with green and red chutneys in between. Tasted average. (3/5)
Phool Bhaji: short and thin deep fried snacks made up of gram flour. Crispy outside with soft inside with just a Flicker of red Chilli flavour. (3/5)
👉 Vegetables:
Paneer Tuffani: tangy and spicy paneer sabji with soft and small cubes of Paneer based on red sauce. This dish is common in most of the thali. Best among all the vegetables. (4/5).
Gavar lasaniya: simple, medium spiced sabzi. (3/5).
Aloo tomato rasawala: sweet aloo sabzi consisting of cube sizes potatoes. Due to its sweet taste, it didn't go well with the breads. (2/5)
White Chawla dahi Walla: spicy sabzi consisting of pulses. Average in taste. (3/5)
👉 Breads:
Puri: this was almost an one biter. It was served hot. Must have it with the paneer sabzi.
Roti: this was medium sized topped with a spoon of ghee. (4/5).
👉 Dal bati: the bati is served mashed and the dal was poured over it. The dal could have been more spicy. Average dish (3/5)
👉 Dal: most of the thali restaurants have two types of dal: sweet (Gujarat) and spicy ( Rajasthani). This dal was different than the one poured over the bati.(3/5)
👉 Sweet
Aam ras: unlimited aam ras are always pleasant. It was served cold and was thick. Not too sweet. (4/5)
👉 Conclusion: overall this restaurant ticks almost all the points. Great atmosphere, attentive Staff and more importantly good food. If you are looking for a budget thali restaurant then this could be a good choice. Even though the famous Natraj dining hall is beside it, I felt gordhan thal was better.
Just one word for this place... WOWWW... one of the best daal bati I have ever had. The staff was courteous and quick to respond. The spread was good and filling. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here... 5stars for the food, service and daal bati

Had been to udaipur for 3 days... The day i landed to udaipur i wanted to had dal bati.. after asking the hotel staff got to know about this hotel.. took out time from my schedule and went here on the last day of my stay at 10.30pm.. the resturant was almost empty. Then also the staff welcomed use with a smile.. and served us dinner...

They have Gujarati Thali and Rajasthani Thali. We had Gujarati Thali. The food was amazing. Every time was amazing except the Motichoor Ladoo. They served Dal-daal which was extraordinary. Chaas was good too.

Everything is so good. You cannot find any mistake in any item of thadi. The interior is a bit simpler than A'bad gordhan thal bt quality of food remains same.
After reaching udaipur i was searching for a good tummy filling place with also good ambience and peaceful to enjoy their traditional cuisine and this place proved it right. There are many around but waiting and noise makes you frustrated. Food quality was really good and right on marks.

Place is situated just near bus station ie. Udiapole circle besides its competition Natraj Thal. Has ample parking space. The ambiance is beautiful with amazing interiors. Service is amazing. Mohan bhog (can't remember correct name but it started with Mohan)..we really enjoyed the food..Ambience was also nice and staff was good at service.

I have been there many times and often I felt it's better than their parent branch in Ahmedabad.Better than Natraj which seems to be more preferred locally.
If you have been to Natraj, maybe this wouldn't please you much, but still they are decent. The service However is a little slow but the food preparation are none the less delicious. The kheer they serve should be eaten twice. The dal baati churma served is also filling.overall decent.
A family restaurant which serves pure veg. food. The interior including furniture and other basic amenities is good. Taste is homely. I would recommend this place to all those people who are searching for "Ghar jesa khaana". Location is very convenient.

I and my girlfriend went there to have lunch, Surprisingly we reached too early. Restaurant was just open. Door man open the door so politely and the restaurant team welcomed us so well. Food was very tasty and the staff too polite . We loved it. The only problem I faced was the EDC machine was not working. Rest everything was great.
After a long day, this place was a complete blessing for me, a thali lover. I loved the taste, the ambience, the warm staff. They serve you in a very traditional manner. There was a variety of food with unlimited repetitions. Value for money. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting udaipur. One small problem- no churma is served! But I still loved it.
Delighted to see Gordhan Thal in Udaipur after experiencing the same in Ahmedabad. I love the restaurant. The food was good and some particular items stood out. The basundi was delicious. They have added some Rajasthani and North Indian dishes to the thali, I believe only for this outlet. Over all the food was great, the service can be improved (frequency of food service) and the price factor as usual is great.

When i explored it on zomato, what I found the pics with exact angle .
The view of this places click in their mind ,exactly same as clicked to me. So our snaps became identical.
It is a another joint after natraj to offer thali with multiple verities .we got more than 10 katories in single thal , so we got opportunity
to taste varieties .
Coming to food, it is delicious. Usually I don't take sweets but when I ate halwa and kheer, I got the perfect taste. Daal baati was as Delicious as it should be. Pieces of khaman and utappam taste smooth along with paneer Ki sabzi. Chach was also awesome. Overall food was delicious.
About ambience , as I told the place has good ambiance. The theme reflects it is a nice place. The utensils used are typically traditional.
About services, the staff is very polite. All are well dressed,punctual and tried to serve the best . what we want is in restaurant is a quick service of eatables , what they are giving . so it became a nice experience for us for a family dinner.

Visited Gordhan thal in Ahmedabad I found it similar too. As it's Rajasthan so there is extra item dal batti as a traditional food. It's good in service and food quality. Also lots of items to taste. Best place to have Gujarati and Rajasthani traditional food.

First of all, location of the restaurant is quite nice. Near to the railway station as well as to the bus depot, gives the restaurant a nice location. This restaurant provides a thali system (fixed items for unlimited times) based on Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisines. You may have to wait for seat as this place is not so big and also it is very busy at weekends and special occasions. After acquiring seats for your family you will be served with a big thali(plate made of steel) with a number of katoris (bowls made of steel). The waiters will come instantly and serve you with vegetables and chapati, dal batti, salad, sweets, papad, butter milk and may vary based on season and the time you visit. Serve is fast sometimes and sometimes slow based on the rush.
Food quality is quite good and taste is OK.
Rs. 260 per plate is somewhat high than the food we get but its ok as the services are quite good. Hygienic place. Ground floor is nicely decorated and first floor is endowed with glasses with which we can see the main road.
