Good food but too costly according to its quantity .Nice taste of Manchurian and noodles but when I ordered pizza it was small and it had less toppings
The food was very good. The owner was very welcoming and served the food himself. The daal tadka was a bit spicy but good. The owner recommended paneer tikka masala and matar methu malai which was indeed good in taste. The daal was so good that we ordered an extra daal just for eating without chapati. Overall good dining experience at the price.

We drive all the way from shilpagram just to eat lunch here...and its worth it... Thali for Rs.140.00
They have two sections..On ground floor they serve Thalis and on 1st floor they serve other food..
We tried their thali...special preparation was methiki sabji..as per them for the day...was delicious...Rotis were soft..Sabjis were well prepared..and sweet..rasgulla..was yumm...Owner was friendly...
Must Visit place for lunch...yes they gives thali as parcel..We were so hungry and food was soooo delicious that we forgot to take photo..
Thali=Rs 140
It consists of unlimited roti, bajre ki roti with jaggery (gud), rice, dal, kadi, masala aloo sabji, paneer chole, two more vegetable, papad, achar, salad, pink kajoor chutney, halwa.
In one thali only one person can eat.
So 140 unlimited thali but can't share.
They don't allow even a child to share.
Also don't expect them to pack your sweet also.
So, you in one thali only one person. They won't let you pack.
But it is worth it.
Me and my wife were looking for some decent Indian food and reached this place.
Ambience is average and staff is courteous. Service was prompt and we had no complaints. Coming to food, we ordered dal tadka, paneer Tikka masala, steam Rice and butter milk (chaas). We loved all the preparations. Dal tadka had a great aroma of the rich tadka, and dal was cooked well. Paneer Tikka masala was a bit spicy which was perfect for our taste. Loved the chaas they served and had 2 :). Ambience 3/5, service 4/5, Food 4/5.
We are surely going to revisit this place in our 3 days stay at udaipur.
The thali is really good, but there is a lot of food... make sure to be really hungry before going there. The staff really wants you to try everything and can be a little pushy when you say you are full. . But food is excellent, so I'd recommend it.

Was staying at Lal Ghat, Udaipur. Being a gang of three guys with a job that makes us question the "why", we were looking for some pocket friendly as well as Rajasthani food. Lal Ghat being primarily a tourist spot, doesn't offer much of the local cuisine. So after roaming around in Moti Magri, an auto driver came to our rescue to take us to this really awesome restaurant. The owner was extremely friendly. All three of us took a thali. We wanted to taste the famous Gatte Ki Sabji, so that gentleman even gave a Gatte Ki Sabji in the thali we took. With 6 Chapatis, Rice, 1 Dal, 4 Sabjis, and a sweet dish, this thali is all you want to have when there's a war going amongst the rats in your stomach. This is the tastiest food we've had in our stay at Udaipur. This one is a must have. Go for it.

It is a small joint , you may find good rajasthani food hare.
Comparing with other thali restaurants like natraj and goverdhan thal, this place can provide you taste of traditional Rajasthan I food. No doubt natraj is better in service and ambience but staff of this small joint are doing their job well.
Overall a good place if your hunger is being satisfied with good Rajasthani food.

A small hotel but with yummy food. We had rajasthani dish dal baati churma & it was yummy. They taught us how to mix the dal & baati and then eat it. Must say the taste was really good.
I visited this place twice, once for the gujarati/ rajasthani thali and second time for the daal bhaati thali. For the gujarati thali, I would recommend Natraj if one is looking out for more variety in dishes. But everything in this world comes with a price, while Natraj offers variety and unlimited desserts and chaas, their thali is of 200 bucks, while the thali served here is of 130 bucks, desserts and chaas- only served once. But I am in love with their Daal bhaati churma. Being a first timer, Dal bhati was on my 'to haves' list, and I absolutely loved the dal bhati churma served here. Mind you, this dish is really delicious but quite heavy in terms of the richness of ghee, oil etc. The manager himself suggested that 2 people can share one thali and since we were 3 of us, we ordered only one. Dal bhati is a rich preparation and the 3 of us didn't find the need to order anything else.

Shivali is fondly considered as a Rajasthani thali place among the locals and the frequent visitors in Udaipur.
A small place on one corner of Chetak Circle, it is easy to miss out .. but once you go through the cycle of having thali's every now and then .. it will stick to you forever.
The food that they serve looks like a Rajasthani meal, smells like a Rajasthani meal and then tastes every bit like a Rajasthani meal.
I very well understand the popularity of other places like Natraj Dining and understandably, tourists would certainly crowd Nataraj; but sometimes popularity is not a measurable index of food and although I wouldn't point fingers anywhere ... trust me Shivali brings far superior food in terms of taste and variety compared to those popular ones.
There could also be one other reason though, as I am a big fan of having different vegetables and varieties every time I visit the same place .. this is where Shivali might score big for me .. one day there is spring onions, the other day gobhi, the other sangri and it changes almost every time.
On the other hand Natraj would be a certain aaloo* in this, aaloo in that and aaloo in your mouth 'coz every one wants to eat a aaloo to probably look like one. B-)
And I have found a few others who happen to share my liking for this place ... have fed a lot of my colleagues, seniors even business leaders on their business trips and almost everyone was gobsmacked by the food at such a small place.
Went after a gap of almost 2 years and the taste hasn't changed, their curry hasn't changed and their "atithi devo bhava"* hasn't changed.
Thali was around 90 rupees about 3 years ago, it is 130 nowadays.
Totally worth it + a tip. Anyday .. anytime.
* Who do not know hindi - aaloo=potato
* atithi devo bhava = 'Be one for whom the guest is God'
Natraj was there right opposite railway station and this one right opposite bus stand. Food of course was true sense Rajasthani. A fulfilling Thali for 130. Consists of- hot roti with ghee, Dehradun rice, dal, rajma, besan curry, alu sabji, cabbage sabji, rasgulla, chanch and unlimited quality and excellent service. They would treat u as vip, with asking umpteen times what you need and would makes sure you plead them not to serve any more. Rajasthani hospitality at best even at this smal time hotel of masses. Loved the food, service and hospitality. Value for money! Ordered an extra shreekhand for 20₹ and it was great too
I had Gujarati Thali and my friend had Aloo Paratha.
Food was good and at reasonable rates.

What I really liked was the owner behavior. Felt very happy to eat Jain food which was not only prepared & served will but even the place of seating was decent . People with family can come here .
Will surely come next time & will also post pics of my food . Initially I did struggle to find a good restaurent in that location but this one was a clear stand out as it looked decent & matched the fine dining option .

Superb hospitality and fully respected owner and daaal baaati best ever we tried in udaipur. We stayed for 3 days but we had Dal baati here for several times.

Nice place and food is also good. Thali is at 190 that's average rate and according to rate food is very good. It you travel single you can go there.

Very authentic and tasty food served with amazing hospitality by Staff and Owner...
A small building next to the udaipur road. It was a recommendated place by friend. Service was fast but felt like quite aggressive. We ordered daal, matar-paneer, dahi and roti with butter. Food was okay-okay. Restroom is there but I think one can feel problem if you are coming by your own vehicle. There are no parking in front of the gate, you have to mark you car little far.
