This is a good place but during peak hour they lack in the services had a great experience at the restaurant but the service was slow because of that many people had to wait and some groups left the location.
What a place it was , i went with my family for having dinner there and it was so peaceful, sitting by the lakeside enjoying beer with delicious food it was one of the experience.
This was our last meal in Udaipur and what a way to say goodbye. We had come to Amrai Ghat.. oh such a beautiful place.. sat there for a bit and came here to eat. The place was packed. Luckily got a table and we placed our order soon. The server was so sweet, we had mentioned that we are running late for a flight and he made sure all our food came fast and the payment had no delays. We ordered some Dhungar Murg and rotis which was delicious and sat admiring the wonderful view around us.. with rajasthani folk songs playing in the background.. all the beautiful lit buildings reflecting in lake pichola and all happy faces around enjoying the food and experience. #mustvisit

Ambrai.restaurant definitely has breathtaking view of lake pichol. If you are in udaipur then you should definitely visit this place. It's a great place to spend time with family or friends.
I loved the folk live music and staff here was hospitable. Unfortunately the food that was served was average.

This place has my heart. The view and ambience could make you sit here forever. We ate corn kebab, chicken tikka and their famous mutton. We devoured every single bite. Please do visit this place once you are in udaipur.

Excellent food... amazing view of pichola lake. If you get the table which is just at the corner beside the lake then you will feel like heaven. The service was a bit slow but you won’t feel the wait cause you feel like sitting there forever.
Must must have - aloo kajhor ki chat, mewari kichdi , meethi and papad ki sabzi and lazeez paneer.

An awesome experience to remember - Awesome dinner in an awesome setting with awesome views
Dec 30 dinner: Ambrai is located on the banks of Lake Pichola right opposite the Palace. At night, the place is magical with the lake reflecting the light from the Palace. It's an awesome view that can be felt only by being there.
This place was a recommendation by a relative and I had called 3-4 weeks before to make a reservation. There are tables for 2 on the banks of the lake, bigger tables are in the inner part but the view is just the same from everywhere.
The food was overall very good, masaledar, rich and full of flavour. We had the Ambrai paneer ka sula - their version of paneer tikka - this was yum, paneer was nice and soft and well marinated. The chicken starter was also well marinated and cooked and chicken was tender. In the mains, the Ambrai paneer was paneer cubes in a mix of 3 gravies - lovely and tasty.
The service was very slow and if not for the view, ambience and the quality of food, the service or rather the lack of it could have marred the entire experience.
Everything was perfect - the place, view, ambience, food, drinks but the service.

Tandoori chicken. Here the beauty is the chicken well mixed with dahi and red masala which gives a wonderful taste. Very well served with green chutney and onions

Ambrai restaurant is located inside Amet Haveli, near Ambrai ghat. This restaurant is pretty famous for its location and you can get amazing view of city palace,lake pichola. We ordered dhungar maans, tandoori roti and chicken biryani. I loved that smoky flavour of dhungar maans, mutton was very tender. Chicken biryani was very different from regular hyderabadi dum biryani but biryani was amazing. Quantity was very less compared to the price but that's expected from these high end restaurants. Overall if you want to spend some quality time in Udaipur , you should visit Ambrai.
The most hyped and the most scenic hotel in all of Udaipur I'd say , this hotel gives you direct view of city palace , hamrai ghat and bagore ki haveli and hotel Taj Lake Palace.
Don't forget to make a reservation before going. The tables with view are on the first come first serve basis. So don't forget to be on time.
Well the view from this restaurant is mesmerising and one can definitely find this place calm and the best time to dine in at this place will be afternoon and if we talk about the food it is pretty good too..but for me the picturesque view is the main thing which drags me there!!!

We had heard a lot about this place so as soon as we reached udaipur, we straightaway went to this place..the location is little tricky as u cannot take your car , u have to take an auto or two wheeler . But despite all the obstacles, when we reached there, it was all worth it .i mean the view is spectacular!! I didn't care if the food would be good otmr not as the view said it all...we ordered lal maas with naan ..it was melt in mouth mutton!! Just the way i like..so it was win win situation for me- GREAT VIEW AND GREAT FOOD!! What more does a person need!!

It’s a perfect place for the perfect date. The staff is courteous and polite to explain the dishes and gave us good recommendations. Not a fan of red meat. But laal Maas here was a treat to our taste buds! The quantity of food is sufficient for two persons. Would totally revisit this place.
Located near the famous Pichola Lake amidst a scenic backdrop of temples and the legendary Taj Palace this is a visual overload. You'd want to pay a price just for the view that's out there, simply fabulous!
The Food :
😀Mix non-veg platter : The platter had Murg Malai kebab, Tandoori chicken, Mutton boti & fish Tikka & prawns. Every kebab had a unique flavour and the quantity was good too.
😍Laal Mass : Rajasthani delicacy of mutton with bone cooked in thick Indian spicy gravy garnished with chopped coriander leaves. Laal Maas: Mutton pieces cooked overnight in robust spices which packed so much of flavour. The meat was very tender and you need to handle a decent level of spiciness if you are to eat it!
We had it along Pyaaz mirch ki roti, Laccha Paratha and steam rice.
Ambrai is one the best places to visit in Udaipur for a delightful dinning experience. Highly recommend this place.
Would rate the food ok but exceptional services by Ramesh who has been here since inception. Apart front this, good location, need to reserve lake side table prior to coming.

I made it a point to go to this restaurant on my visit to Udaipur and it turned out to be a good decision. Though ambience is better suited for evening, I went for lunch due to my schedule - so won’t comment on ambience.
We tried the Ambrai spl paneer and Lal Maas (had non vegetarian friends). Paneer dish was prepared in 3 gravy (red - usual spicy, white - sweet, green - mildly spiced palak paneer mattar). We ordered variety of breads and I really liked garlic naan & onion-chilli paratha.
Food was good overall. The quantity was good for a group of 4. we couldn’t order anything else 😅

LOCATION : If you are looking for romantic candel light dinner in Udaipur, AMBRAI is the place to be! It is located on the banks of Pichola river with a spectacular view of the Jagdish Temple, Lake Palace, Jag Mandir of Udaipur
FOOD: It serves excellent multi-cuisine delicacies that make the mouth water and tingle the taste buds. I ordered chicken tikka and it was absolutely delicious.
Drink: I ordered Kahlua. Those of you dont know it. Kahlua is a coffee-flavored liqueur from Mexico.
The view from the place is amazing. Staff is competent and polite. Food is very okish especially if you are a vegetarian. The most important thing is to book a table before visiting the place as it is packed at dinner time. Sizzler is a big no no here.
Visited their when I was in my udaipur trip, this place is a resturant of amet haveli which is beautiful place to stay. The location is by the lake. I tried hara bhara , french fries, parantha’s, cold coffee everything was quite good in taste, the place is a little expensive but the food is worth a visit!

AMBRAI is really a gem
One of the most beautiful restaurant to visit in Udaipur. One of the best too. This is really classy and gives a proper royal treatment too. The service is amazing, so as the food. Slightly expensive but a must visit place for those who crave for historical palaces. Present on the lake side is a plus point too. If you visit this place, do try laal maas or red meat.
Is there a better view to dine by, when at the city of lakes? Set at lake-shore level, overlooking the city palace in one direction & Jagniwas in the other Ambrai- Amet Haveli probably offers the most breathtaking view of Udaipur. While they offer both Indian & International cuisine, our pick hands down is Indian / Merwari khaana, its lip smacking & tasted absolutely authentic. The staff / service is dope! Our overall experience was sooooooo good, we highly recommend every tourist should take time out for a meal here. Though the evenings here are perfect for a romantic candlelight dinner, the sun kissed view of Udaipur that the lunch offers is priceless 💥🌈🌤🏖
