It's a family owned place so the food takes time but boy is it good! We loved it so much the first night that we went again. Tried Bruschetta, garlic prawns, white sauce pasta and creme caramel. Everything was super tasty. But most importantly, the people are amazing. Chef and sou chef come out often and talk to the guests. Overall, highly recommended for a quite night and amazing food.
Loved the food, everything was fresh and perfectly flavoured, we were made to feel welcome by the lovely owners. Special shout out to the mixologist Aneesha for making me a refreshing drink!

This is a real gem of a place in north goa and probably the best Goan food I had so far.
Everything is made fresh and cooked to order which is evident in the texture and flavour of the food.
Things too do take a while longer to make but given the quality it’s definitely worth the wait.
Would definitely recommend to others and would go back for sure.
The food was really tasty. We ordered prawns, fish and chicken as starters because we love spicy food. The waitress suggested excellent foods. The Fish and Chicken curries were also excellent. The head cook herself came and asked us about the taste of the food. Overall, it felt like an ideal restaurant.
The cocktails and food is amazing! Come here for an intimate experience and great service. Will definitely come back!
Calm place, they have a few dogs here, food takes a bit time to prepare but the people in charge are polite👌
This isnt pocket a pocket friendly, more on the expensive side and the portion sizes of mains are just enough for one person but some really good food.
The peri peri chicken was decent, but loved the sauce.
Fish curry was also amazing, recommended but the dish I loved the most and quite surprising too, was Pineapple chicken. Not sure why people dislike pineapple in food, those people wouldn't say so if they have this dish. It is quite juicy, gives you the same burning sensation when you eat a pineapple and the salad with it tastes amazing too. 10/10 recommend.
Awesome place , lovely staff had grilled chicken wbjc was good , coffee was good , over all great experience
I think one should go of you are around
If there was an option to give more than 5 stars I would have easily given this place 100 stars.
So I visited Goa after 6 years. And after visiting the regular places we were looking for a different place for dinner and we ended up visiting Comida Caseira - Homesytle kitchen and bar. And that turned out to be the best decision taken on this trip.
The moment we entered the restaurant, somehow I knew that this is going to be something amazing.
Our first order was Butter Garlic French Fries. They tasted very good. Perfect crispy and flavorful.
Then we ordered beer battered Prawns. Crispy from outside and soft inside.
Then came the fish fingers. Super soft super yummy fish fingers.
The last order was " Goa on a plate." It consisted of Goan Chorizo chilly fry, Chicken cafreal , pork vindaloo , Goan poi(soft bread) and rice. I've tried this is for the first time ever. It was really good. Everything was overflowing with the flavors.
We again visited next morning for breakfast. We ordered Kickstarter (English Breakfast) , Ros Omelette ( omelettes with Goan style gravy) , Cheese omelette and French toast.
Again everything was upto the mark.
And the French toast was nothing like I have ever tasted. Perfectly done, Super tender, not too sweet.
And we visited again for dinner.
We ordered Lemon butter garlic Squids, and for the first time in my life I did not eat "White Rubber" in the name of squids. They were done so well that it literally melted in my mouth.
We ordered prawns again
Then we ordered Goan fish curry and Goan paella. I did not have this awesome fish curry in long time. And the paella consisted of squids , prawn , clams curry with rice. It was really awesome.
And the last order was Pina colada Panna Cotta. And creme caramel.
"Comida Caseira - Homesytle kitchen and bar". They really do justice to this name . They really make you feel at home.
I would like to Thank Team Comida for their amazing food and wonderful hospitality.
Awesome home style food..Which means whatever you order, they make it fresh..even vegetables are chopped after your order..
So,it’s a must visit place..specially if you wanna try Goan or Portuguese food..
Loved this place!😍
Found this place on zomato. Homestyle food is what you get here. Which means they cook food only after your order is taken. So the taste is fresh. Being vegetarians we did get lot of options and all very different flavours. We ordered for blue rice and curry which is simply outstanding. Beet that is another mains made with beetroot and macaroni. The presentation of food satisfies your eyes and soul
Must visit when you are in vagator.
The right ambience, the food, the service and to top it up the hospitality...it makes you sooo comfortable with all the space for yourself...it's truly a home away from home....loved the music....I recommend everyone out there to visit Comida Caseira...a bigggggg thanks to team Comida Caseira
Great good with amazing ambience and so sweet staff. Will recommend if u want to experience great food in Goa, this place is a must for you.

Lovely cozy place located in the heart of Vagator, on the way to vagator beach heavenly food to die for and cocktails were really nice, the staff there are very friendly and welcoming, the food theres is made as fresh as it can be since they make it out of scratch so it takes time but sit down and enjoy the lovely ambience the decor really makes the place stunning, and best the bathrooms are really clean i would definitely suggest the beer batted prawns as a starter and the pork chops as mains so far are my favourite and no matter how full you are there will be space for their creme caramel. Ps their doggie is like the cutest ever
Sucha cute place with all fairy lights and romatic vibe, also white pasta never disappoints you. They have a shihtzu. I was sold.
Quite and calm, run by a family with a dog and his granddaughter cat.
But awesome food, one of the best food in Goa.
Pork Chops are a must try.
Comida Caseira is place to visit when in Goa. The Owner A.K.A Head Chef Anushree puts her heart on the plate. Home style cooked fusion food is cooked with Fresh ingredients and Proteins. What goes well with quality food is the great Ambiance and helpful staff including RIO🐶.
If in Goa you must visit this place. It serves what you can call soul food. Enormous number of options for vegetarians, non-vegetarians, teetotlars and connoisseurs of various poisons. Every thing you order is sumptuous, portion wise good and great service. Just go . Jao sab bas jao
Good food, great ambiance, staff is friendly, the host told us that they don't have chef, they believe in preparing your food herself, so that you can have the feel of food... Highly recommended if you wish to try authentic goan food.
A must visit once at vagator ... AWESOME family run restaurant ...great home style food reminds you of family eating together and chilling ... interior are soothing and calming ....pork ribs a must try ...plus point meet Rio...
Found it just driving by looking for a bite. Nice place. Good ambience. Friendly staff/ hosts. Good food, though a tad overpriced I think. Would probably visit again if I'm staying in the vicinity.
A cute place very close to Vagator beach.
Along with the ambience, The food is fab as well. Had the kickstarter for breakfast - from the presentation to the taste - everything was fabulous.
Must visit :)
Great place to hang out , i was running late to flight and quick service , goan fish awasome taste, good ambiance. Love to come back again...
If you're looking to have good food (I mean really good food), kickass cocktails and amazing ambience, this is the place you must visit. Chef, Mrs Thappa is brilliant in every thing she makes. On my 5 days trip to Goa, I ended up eating 4 meals there itself. On the first visit, with recommendation of the chef, we ordered Porca Bombs, it was so flavourful, I still have the taste of it in my mouth while writing about it. The best part about the food is, they freshly make everything, and do not use any canned products. Along with the great food, they have a great variety of cocktails, a simple gin and tonic also tastes so good, Aneesha has her special tricks to make the drinks tasty and get you drunk at the same time.
Had a great evening with friends at Comida Caseira near Vagator Beech. The ambience is neatly done with some soft music playing in the background, the people serving you are polite and attentive, good selection of beverage menu.
But the best part is the food. While having a chat with the owners who are also the Chef's, got to know the secret behind the delicious food. They give a lot of importance to the freshness of the ingredients they use.
Tried the Beef Rissois, Lemon Butter Garlic Squids, Beef Chilli Fry, Rum Braised Pork Chop.
Don't miss the desserts, I tried the Creme Caramel, Pina Colada Pannacotta and the Classic Portuguese dessert Serradurra.
What an amazing experience. From welcoming owners to a satisfied tummy. Great smiles all around and the food is top notch. The flavours are in the right places and you'll feel that hit your taste budds when you try their menu out. Tried the Recheado fried prawns, butter garlic squids, fish curry rice, fried fish and more. Walked out with my tummy fully satisfied 😀. Coming back for more soon👍🏼
It's a peaceful place, far away from the "LIT" scenes. But, the food is good and the drinks are also great. I ordered a Cabo and Coconut water drink which was served in a coconut itself. It was amazing. And I'd highly recommend it.
This review is long overdue, coming after multiple visits and lord only knows how many hours spent redefining gluttony. Comida Caseira is a homestyle restaurant, run by an incredibly warm family serving Goan-Portuguese dishes from recipes handed down the family. The ambience is cozy and relaxed, order a drink and you’re not going to want to get up.
Now to the meat of the matter: Food and booze.
A pretty good selection of beers, including draught beers from Susegado, the Dorado and Trigo, both well stored and properly poured. If you’re in a mood to relax and chill out, the G&T’s are a no brainer, with Stranger and Sons Gin and Svami’s tonic water. (Hint, ask for the cucumber.) Or if you want a cocktail, I’ve found myself leaning more towards the bartender’s choice. Recently I had a Coconut-Grapefruit margarita that went down way too smooth and fast. Fruity, balanced and a silky mouthfeel, a good way to get a buzz during the day.
Heads up: Food is going to take a while because they make everything from scratch, to order. So order fast, sip a drink and salivate. It’s definitely worth the wait. And did I mention munch on chips and a tasty garlic-yogurt dip while you wait?
I’ve eaten there too often to cover all the dishes I’ve tasted, so here’s a few and more later on. For appetizers a must try are the porca bombs: Golgappas stuffed with tender pulled pork. Tangy, mildly spicy and incredibly flavorful.
The Beef and Chicken Rissois are freshly made, golden fried pockets with a piping hot filling. Definitely order if you’re having a beer. And of course, the beer battered prawns. Not something I tend to order, usually being clichéd and a boring dish, but in this case, these prawns are a revelation. The batter is light, fluffy and moist, with quite a bit of beer in there.
For the mains, if you’re in a group and want to try a variety, the Goa on a plate is a must have. Chicken cafreal with fresh cafreal masala was vibrant, succulent and tangy vindaloo and a chorizo fry that you’re gonna wanna scoop up with the goan poi on the side, served along with fresh cooked local rice.
The Rum braised pork chops are as described, fork tender and dripping with rum. Soak up the sauce with the bread and order your own, because you won’t want to share.
The prawn curry is rich, creamy, tangy and loaded with fresh coconut milk, definitely not the usual Goan prawn curry you’ll find at most local restaurants. Ditch the spoon and eat with your hands, it’s the only way.
For dessert, my favourite by far is the caramel custard. Perfectly balanced, silky and melts in your mouth. Reminded me of my mom’s the first time I had it and every time I’ve taken a friend to try it, it’s like the scene in Ratatouille where the critic first tastes the ratatouille. Even if you’re full, go for it. It fits into that extra dessert compartment everyone has in their stomachs.
A special mention: the loaded butter chicken and the sol kadhi. Not on the menu, but often there on the specials menu or if you ask ahead. The butter chicken is loaded with tomatoes, butter and fragrant kasturi methi, served with khasta roti loaded with ghee. Needed a nap after I ate this.
The sol kadhi is from a family recipe and is again made with fresh coconut milk and the perfect accompaniment to the prawns and the fish. Only reason I had only two glasses last time was because they ran out.
Prices can seem a bit high but the portions are actually pretty big. Then again, you’ll want to order a lot of things.
If you’re around the area, it’s well worth the trip.
Great ambience, wholesome food amazing staff. What a lovely joint! I have the most amazing time every time I come around!
Don’t miss out guys!
Comida caseira translates to home food, and the place is exactly that. The owners Mr. dsilva and his wife were very friendly. The food is of the best quality compared to some places in the same lane like jaws or mango tree. A must visit place and value for money. We 5 friends had 62 beers and dinner, spent 7 hours at the place and paid a bill of 4000 and that on 23rd dec peak season time! Value for money , great food, amazing staff and owners. Quite a home away from home
I loved this place....great food, excellent service - friendly staff and hosts, amazing music and reasonably priced. The food was absolutely wonderful from the fresh ingredients preparation to the presentation, very pleasing. Loved their Macchi fry, Pork chops and perfectly cooked Beef Steak - must try......authentic yummy home cooked meal.
My Girlfriend and I Visited this restaurant on New Years Eve, we really enjoyed the place and it certainly created a night to remember. The staff are super friendly and attentive, the cocktails were unique (my girlfriend loved the Cocco Vita and I quenched my thirst with the on tap mango barley larger) the food is delicious, my favourite starter was the beer battered shrimp (fresh local shrimp fried in a fluffy beer batter) and the Goa on a plate is really good giving one a chance to sample various Goan specialties. To finish the evening off we had the creamy pina collada panacotta served with fresh fruit! All in all a superb option not to be missed, we will be returning for sure.
We just landed there while we were searching for. Good Place for Dinner... And this place was just awesome... every single dish was superb when it came to taste and looked beautiful the way it was served.... Would suggest this place to all...
An adorable little quaint place for a nice romantic dinner. The ambiance is extremely nice; because it’s so unknown, you’ll probably we one of the only ones around. The food is great too: appetizers and desserts are particularly good. The main course is alright, not great compared to the others. The food is extremely fresh and made on the spot, which is really nice. The chefs/owner personally talks to you so that’s another really great touch. Highly recommended.
This is a new restaurant in Vagator on the Vagator Beach Road- very simple looking but yet classy and elegant.I was surprised to see Craft beer served here ..The meaning of Comida Caseira is homestyle cooking ...I ordered a wheat flavoured Craft Beer and I was pleasantly surprised when I liked the taste. As I am a vegetarian my choice becomes limited.I asked for a veg pasta dish. It looked so good when it arrived. And it was massive in quantity.Fresh with lots of brocolli and mushrooms. After this heavy meal there was no chance for having any desserts which I pushed back for another visit.
Fab ambience..food to die for..hosts and staff the most polite! Excellent place located at the main street of Vagator Beach, i just have the word WOW!
Was walking down to Vagator beach, when I saw this random new place! It caught my eye instantly! With all those rusty look, pebble stone walls and unusual wall arts! with this soothing classic rocks! What an ambiance and aura to be in! One of the best places to be in for the brunch! Amazing food made from scratch! You feel it’s taking time, but believe me, its worth the wait! And the owners are just so welcoming and generous and open! Makes you feel so comfortable! Just amazing! My always to hangout place in goa!
This just quite new family-guided restaurant took our hearts by storm. If you're looking for a bit of class, warm atmosphere, beautiful interieur, relaxing music and delicious India food with old family recipies this might be the place for you. I recommend with highest praise. Thanks, also for the great talks. Human touch is certainly there too.
Just had a quick breakfast , loved the decor and the way they have made this place , gives a lot of positives vibes when you come inside , lot of option to chose , they were accommodative to accept my request for customised omelette which wasn’t in the menu , this was impressive.
What awesome place to be , dropped in on the first day randomly and this came out to be a great experience . Awesome food quality and fresh too, hope they will continue the same in long term as well , they will host you will a lot of warmth and love and will explain every dish with patience so that you go for your own preference .
Must visit if you are around .
Came here on Christmas Day. It’s a good place to party in a chilled way without super overwhelming music and patrons, it’s a laid back place. Was packed, but great atmosphere and staff were super helpful and friendly. Patrons are chilled types too. The drinks selection was excellent - I particularly liked the spicier versions. Food selection is great too, with lots of local Goan varieties too.
Live band also. And the local dog is a sweet girl too.
Great place, recommended if you’re looking for a chilled place to hang out.
One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten…and I am a total foodie. I have eaten there 2x in my trip and everything was like a taste of heaven. The chef is very special there. Staff is super nice.
The drinks are excellent and the vibe day or night is perfect.
Excellent place. Great cocktails. Lovely music. Great service(only 7% service charge). Neighbors Dog wandered in for head pats. Waiters actually smiling for a change. Fish is really fresh(not all places have this, even in Goa)
Ideal for a romantic date!
The food is different for sure. If you love trying new dishes then do visit.
Also jazz mix music playing at the background made me feel so beautiful and calm.
If I happen to visit Vagator again I would definitely visit Ida 😍
Hidden gem. Didn’t plan to eat here but discovered it by walking around. We we’re blown away by the food. Fantastic bites like the cauliflower miso and the cheese broccoli balls. Nice atmosphere and compared to other places in Goa relaxing background music where you can still have a good conversation while having dinner.
The food they serve is a little on the pricey side but worth every penny. We had a great time here. The sliders were truly a delight and an explosion of flavours. I would highly recommend having the veg sliders.
Amazing food.
Had the masala prawns on a crackers and chicken fillets in port sauce. Both were delicious
Had two desserts also, a chocolate one and a mango one. Both were outstanding.
Very friendly staff, will surely go there again. A must visit
An excellent little eatery nestled in the heart of Vagator. The setting and ambience of the restaurant exudes a laid back and relaxed atmosphere with a playlist to die for.
The food was meticulously prepared with heart and soul and was absolutely delicious.
Hands down, the best Chicken Caesar Salad I have ever tried. The Shrimp and Chorizo wontons were crafted and presented with perfection and the Old Monk Pork was delicately spiced, full of flavour and umami and quite literally falling off the bone.
Kudos to Chef Anushree!
10/10 recommend.
Amazing food, great people, and a cosy setting. Must visit in vagator.
Thank you, Arif! for the excellent service. You truly made our dining experience enjoyable.
Amazing food!
Everything we ordered was absolutely excellent.
The cocktails were 10/10. The team there made sure everything was taken care of and were very attentive.
