This is the best place for Iranian food. I have tried loads of places in Mumbai but this one beats all hands down. It's run by a Iranian and a Spanish guy. They serve Spanish too but have not tried that. I tried the chelo kebab, which is served with rice. It was cooked to perfection. Really succulent and Juicy.

A great place if you want to have authentic Spanish food. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, which was much needed as we didn't know much about the cuisine. The tapas there are absolute musts. Same goes for the Sangria.

We had been to this place 3 times with family and friends. I would have rated this place 5 but rating it 4 coz at times they are closed without information. we made 4 trips and found the place closed. This time fortunately it was open.

The Iranian food is really wonderful here. I had ordered Jooje kebab, stuffed mushrooms.
The quantity was sufficient for one person. Its not possible to share, so every individual will have to order a separate portion. I like the idea as it leads to less wastage of food.

My other family members had ordered beef so i couldnt taste it, but i heard it was super soft and very delicious.

Overall good experience.

Very good, with some caution sauce! Four of us, regular visitors to Goa, were there for dinner on a Sunday night (when they prepare their braised lamb - recommended). The rating may be more generous if you didn't order the Tapas.

Drinks - ordered their version of the whisky sour (ginger blend) - Would repeat. Asked for a customised G&T with thinly sliced cucumber and it was wonderful.

Tapas - went with what should be a normally safe Patatas Bravas and a meatball (albondigas con tomate). The potatoes are best to stay far away from, and while the meatballs were nice, the same potatoes went inside those for some reason. I did read a review which said the tapas were authentic, but from my time in Spain 10-12 years ago and recently in Europe... neither presentation, plating, portion (too big) or food were upto scratch.

Persian Main course.
We ordered the Sunday special braised lamb, The Mirza Ghasemi (smoked eggplant, egg, garlic - a bharta take), Khoresht Gharmeh Sabzi (beef stew with kidney beans & rice) and the Kebab Koobideh with Barbari bread.

Phenomenal food. The Koobideh (with rice or barbari) was outstanding, and a dish that I look for in all my travel. The kebab could have been softer, but the taste profile was outstanding. The eggplant, worth a re-order, they had used some yellow tomatoes I think so the sour quotient was amazing. The barbari bread - well made, crisp & golden.

Service - outstanding. The place itself is quaint and a very manageable size. I hope this stays in Goa.

Am told by the staff that the seafood paella will start next month.

Darvish is authentic. Hussain gets up and prepares the persian dish himself. It is probably the best persian joint in the country and we went bananas when we had the chelo kebab (koobideh). What amazes me is the quantity and quality of what is served to you. In highly, highly, highly recommend the dish "mirzaghasemi". Veg food but goooooooooooood.

Wow finally a persian cusine which is run by Aryan who brings his home town cuisine from Iran all the way to Goa.
Food made with authentic spices ....adding to the menu they also have Spanish tapas for which we shall make another visit.
But for all you kiboodeh lovers go and eat your heart out.

Mind it the place is opened only in the evenings for now. But follow the Facebook page for more info. They also do some specials on the weekends.

The hunt for Good Persian Food is finally over!

I’d come across Darvish’s FB Page and decided to go try it out. Took several weeks to make it there but if was certainly worth it.

The place is built “hands-on” by the owner Mr. Hussain, and you can feel the compassion and dedication once you enter.

The Menu offers a limited range of Spanish Tapas and Persian Food. Decided to go for the Sangria, and the Bartender Mr. Aryan managed to make one of the best Sangria’s I’ve ever had in a very long time.

Food wise, was craving Koobideh and Chenjen Kebobs so decided to stick with that. This once again was a winner. The photos don’t do justice.. it was an impressive serving with all expected ingredients and sides.. Saffron Rice, Tatziki, Grilled Tomato, Sumac and Butter.. Just right!

Will definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Persian food.. and will certainly go back to try the Spanish Tapas.

Epic food. Specially for meat lovers. Tried the Naga beef pickle, koobideh and joojeh kebabs. The meat was cooked perfectly and the portion size was more than enough for one person. Very happy to have discovered this place. Definetly on my list for the next visit.

Among the picturesque beaches of Goa, Vagator is one of the unique one's which attracts the locals as well as tourists. @darvishgoa is a small and quaint restaurant that lies in a quiet lane of Vagator!❤️ It is attractively designed with some beautiful artwork, and is quite special as it has chefs hailing from Iran and Nagaland!❤️ It serves a variety of delicacies which include authentic kebabs, spanish and middle eastern cuisine and speciality cocktails. What's really worth mentioning here is that the herbs and barberries used in a variety of their dishes are specially procured from Iran to ensure the authentic taste and flavour. Apart from the regular displayed menu, it has a special menu everyday to cater to the different varieties of food. They have an amazing special fire dance performance which leaves all the guests spell bound!❤️✨ In the frame: 1. Zareshk Polo Ba Murgh (Chicken Saute Stew) : Zareshk stands for Barberries, Polo for Rice and Murgh for Chicken! Cooked with saffron, tomato and served with Barberry saffron Basmati rice! 2. Hummus Plate: This is an authentic Mediterranean hummus plate with chickpeas, virgin olive oil and paprika served with fresh pita bread! 3. Kebab Koobideh : Skewers of perfectly grilled lamb mince served with grilled tomato and salad. You can have it with saffron basmati rice or Iranian bread! 4. Persian Herbal Tea: Refreshing mug of authentic hot tea made from 12 herbs! 5. Mojito: The perfect blend of lemon juice and mint really complemented the food! . . The hosts were warm and welcoming, and were very happy to show us around!❤ . . If you are in Vagator then do head to @darvishgoa for some amazing authentic middle eastern cuisine that is sure to keep you wanting for more!❤

7 of us had gone to Darvish on a friend’s recommendation. We have eaten Persian food earlier in the Middle East and Turkey, and found the quality outstanding. We ordered Koobideh Kebab (beef & lamb mince),Joojeh Kebab (chicken), Mahiche (Lamb Shank), and Mirza Ghasemi. Beef & Prawn pickle was also ordered and this dish in from North East India where the owner’s wife is from, and it was excellent. I would recommend this place any day to a person who is a foodie.

You want to taste best of Goa? I’d recommend explore GOA to its core! Darvish is one such places where you can enjoy great food with greatest music. I was spellbound with ambience and music. When I was there, they played old songs in latest beats. I mean I couldn’t ask for more. Great food with best music is a deadly combination for your brain activity to neutralise and take you to a heaven.

The lamb kebabs are to die for! I enjoyed other dishes like the smoked beef and the beef pickle is a must have if you want to add tasty spice to your meal. We ordered chicken kebabs but I do not like chicken so I won't comment. Don't get misled by the lack of diners because the food was fresh!

I recently had the pleasure to have some finger-licking-good dinner at @darvishgoa, which is a Persian and Spanish Cuisine Restaurant with a hint of wonderful Naga dishes. Darvish is run by Kathy & Tali, sisters from Nagaland, and their husbands, Hossain from Iran and Paul (who is an interior designer) from Pune. You can see how beautifully they have curated their place and their food menu - which such vast diversity of interesting flavours coming together, just like their family. You can see Kathy in the last photo, who has hosted me with so much warmth every single time I’ve visited them. I started with Fatoush Salad 🥗 which was soooo delicious, especially the sauce and spices they used. I am a huge veggies lover and I was amazed by how good of a salad it is. Apart from that, I had Patata Bravas, Hummus Plate, Para Bread (which is super soft and tastes yum). I also drank a Sangria, which was brilliantly made, too. What’s really cool is that herbs and some of their spices that they use are especially brought in from Iran, and Kathy mentioned how due to Covid, they have been facing difficulties with transportation of the same. It’s a great place for a large group of people as well as for quite secluded dinner date for couples - especially those who eat vegetarian and non-vegetarian. It’s a shame that this place isn’t popular compared to how good their hospitality and food is. Must visit, and tell Kathy, Tali, Hossien “hello” from my side, too. ❤️

Quaint place with quaint food. Not tasted Persian food earlier so this was different to the taste buds. The service was faster than I had thought it would be. Between two of us, we spent 1000 bucks including drinks which I thought was awesome. Good and different experience.

Excellent food, the succulent kebabs are spot on, the hummus is smoother than face cream, delicately flavoured. Beef pickle is a must have. I was pleasantly surprised by the herbal tea. I'll definately be going back.

Restaurant review: @darvishgoa is a family run restaurant in Vagator, and it has all the charms of a family based business. The restaurant itself is in the front yard and ground floor of their home, it has a homely feel ; unassuming and yet inviting ambience. The food is what they know and make at home - Persian , Mediterranean fare and Naga food , since they hail from these regions ( don't you just adore the mixed marriages and the fact that people of different origins have made their home in Goa ?) Coming to the food : Not only is it authentic, but also food that you won't get anywhere else in Goa. The seafood paella for example had a flavour intense broth, also rice specific for paella, and filled with calamari and mussels. Haven't had such since our visit to Barcelona. The bamboo shoot pork and the soup made with naga king chillies, along with black sesame pork was another example of regional cuisine true to its roots. A fatoush salad was are only nod at vegetarianism , which was nice aswell. For dessert we had the homemade baklava, just the way I Iike it , sticky and syrupy and stuffed with pista, not the dry flaky store bought variety. All in all it's a real off the beaten track restaurant, with dishes that are conversation starters. . It is 29 km from my home - and a place has to be worth my time and effort to go there, also I value all of your time aswell. I do wish they were on Swiggy or Zomato though for home delivery. Also I wore my flamenco Spanish skirt ☺️ .

Prices are a little on the upper side, service is a little slow as in most of Goa, but the food is exceptionally good. Spanish and Persian cuisines. Well marinated and well cooked. During my visit to Goa this is the only place which we visited twice and will definitely come again during my next Goa visit.
