Good food, especially fish tandoori! This place is open till 9.30 PM and accepts credit cards and google pay as payment modes. The service is pretty great too! Facing the Varkala beach, this place is a must visit.
The shack is pretty scruffy, especially upstairs where the wood floor planks are all croocked and squeaky, but the fried calamari were perfectly cooked and crispy.
Came back a second time for lunch and and had a lovely grilled fish and a prawns noodle dish. We also tried a desert we never heard of before called "Hello to the queen" and it was heavenly. A little bomb of flavours and different textures: bananas and warm chocolate mixed with crumbles of Marie cookies, topped with soft ice cream and grated coconut entoured by tangerines slices. After 10 days in Varkala, we declared their version of this dessert to be the best!

I feel I really need to say something after reading some of the rediculous reviews about this place. First up the owner is very friendly and always served us quickly and we saw no one else complain in our 4 visits there. The food as well was tasty, definitely try the Momos! As far as it being "just a scruffy shack", well what do you expect? I've travelled all over Asia and just like many other bar/cafes/restaurants on beaches it's got a lovely laid back, hippie-backpacker, beach vibe going on but what's important is the food and friendly owners and great location. We stayed in Varkala for 5 days and loved coming this end of the beach away from the main cliff to sun bathe near this lovely little cafe and scoff Momos. Thank you Theeram!

We stayed in Varkala for 2 weeks in 2012 and ate at this place almost every night. We're early diners so I guess we never had to wait more than 15 mins for our meals. The fish tandoori was our favourite and we also loved the vegetable curries. The puri (deep fried bread) was good too. Ownership and staff must have changed hands hence the bad reviews
Very nice resturant in Varkala beach.
Food is bit expensive and they take considerable more time to serve the food . We ordered 2 lobster and it's costs Rs750 . Taste was very good . It's located in front of beach , so view it very good . We liked the place as food was good. You will find mostly overseas tourist here . Not only here , varkala is crowded with foreigners
I've not experienced slow service or bad food people are mentioning. In fact food was just perfect, much better than in other two places on a cliff that we've gone too. Portions are not to big, but that may be the only downside I've discovered.
