The misal pav is one of the best in the locality and so is the poha. Food-wise it is a good place for a weekend hang out. But the staff is ill mannered and quite slow. Also, cleanliness can be improved upon. Quite cost effective, but the service times do get quite high on weekends, can be improved as well. Crowds for take away stand in the way of people eating which can also be improved by serving eaters and takers in a systematic fashion.

Located near Parvati cinema, Santosh Misal is the ideal most place for Misal. Amazing food, amazing service by the host. The person handling this place has immense respect for all his customers. Moreover, the Misal is bestever in Vasai. I have seen people traveling here from distant places for Misal and this attraction is well deserved.
Misal is too good! Very very spice! Can get addictive! However owner is moody. Will be polite when less crowded. And might yell at u to form a line when unable to handle crowd.

What is a true misal pav ? Here it is... Exact spiced, properly served. Quantity is perfect. But you guys should not charge for extra rassa.. It should be free... Other things should be... For a misal craver like me... Rassa is never enough.. In other parts of state it is served free..

One of my favorite missal! Amazingly spicy and flavorful, you need to have a good spice tolerance to have the regular missal. Go for the Dahi Missal is you can't handle the spice. I prefer my missal extra spicy and this place makes it perfectly! Pair it with some Chaas for an awesome breakfast!

My search for a decent plate of Misal has taken me places far & wide. This time it brought me to Santosh Misal Pav, located in the by-lanes of Vasai, a suburb of Mumbai.
This place is run by a family consisting of father, mother & son. They are very courteous & totally customer oriented. They constantly keep checking with each customer about their requirements to ensure that they have had their fill.
The menu is very simple & basic; Misal, Dahi Misal, Poha, Batata Wada, Idli & Buttermilk. While Poha, Idli & Batata Wada are available only for breakfast, Misal is available till closing hours i.e. 2.30 pm.
The Misal is made of moth beans (matki), farsan which includes chiwda, ghatia, peanuts, chopped onions & a spicy gravy. It is finally topped with fine & thin sev and served with 2 pieces of Pav. The gravy can be made more spicy, if required, by helping of a seperate spicy gravy.
The Misal was superb & tasted wonderful. It gave me a runny nose all throughout but I enjoyed eating it nonetheless in fact asked for an extra helping of the gravy. The Misal didn't give me any after effects of a spicy gravy like burning sensation or burps or the need have lots of water.
I had the buttermilk also which was really nice as well. They had added a crushed jeera masala which gave a nice flavour to it.
I am coming again whenever I'm in the vicinity. Are you?

This was a small stall few years ago ... Now its a restaurant type place with seating facility as well. Many other types os gast food varieties available but Misal Pav is the one for which people go there.
Had been here on a Sunday morning, the place was packed, so had to do a take away. The Missal Pav was very good. Not many places now a days serve such better Missal Pav. We also tried the Kanda poha and potato wada. Had to wait for a long time as the wada was not ready, the wait was not worth it as it was not so great and kanda poha was ok. But a must visit for the Missal. For people who do not like it spicy, plz tell them before as the spice is a lil on the higher side.
Early morning if you feel hungry.. Wanna have some mast kanda poha.. Amazingly spicy misal Pav.. This place is a must visit.. The service is real quick.. The owners are really good to talk to.. It's a small place but filled with people during weekend mornings.

They offer a slightly less spicier versions for those who don't wanna leave with tears in their eyes, you can try the dahi misal too. They serve idli and poha as well, for those who aren't misal eaters! The uncle at the counter very kindly offers sugar candies at the end of meal as well! 😃 the perfect weekend breakfast! A must try!

The best misal in Mumbai. The best and unique part of this misal was it had layers of poha, farsan and mix of pulses. If you like hot and spicy misal, ask them for it they have a special rassa for the same. We had 2 variants- the spicy misal and Dahi Misal, both were good. I personally loved the Dahi Misal as it matched my liking.
This place is must visit for those who love Misal Pav. Definitely, taste is different and good. What makes it different from other vendors is the spices and content being used( not really sure when was the last time i had sprouts in my misal :) ). Its not watery or sweet by any chance and its prepared fresh all throughout the morning till afternoon.

So we were at Vasai and a friend suggested this place for a good breakfast. The place was full when we reached there and we had to wait for around 15-20 mins to get ourself a place to stand and eat. The place serves 4 things- Missal, Dahi Missal, Poha & Buttermilk. We ordered for the normal missal and asked him to make it spicy. Love at first bite! The Missal was so perfect and spicy, we were literally sweating due to the spiciness but loved every bit of it. We also ordered a Dahi Missal, the dahi made it less spicy and it was quite good too. While having the Missal we got to know the importance of the buttermilk that was being served there! You will surely need it in the end and in between as well.
Overall, this hidden place can be the best Missal place in here! Can't wait to visit again!

Many of them who have tasted Santosh Misal Pav in Sai Nagar, Vasai (W) will agree with me that the taste of Misal Pav which you get there do not find anywhere else, I have tasted Misal Pav at many places in Vasai & other places too, but the taste of Santosh Misal Pav is completely diffrent & delicious from the rest.
His Misal Pav is very old in Vasai, As far as I have been eating Misal couple from him many years back I do remember he used to make Misal Pav on a (Rekdi) just before his shop where the macchiwalis sit he & his wife they both used to really work hard to serve us this Delicious Authentic Misal Pav, & their hard work really paid off when their popularity of misal pav increased rapdily from kids to Old Age people everybody started liking it & on they other hand the shifting from Rekdi to his current Shop where it is now also happened with their tremoundous Hard work, Efforts, Maintaining the quality & taste of the Misal Pav the same as it was before.
When we go to his shop we need to climb the stairs which take us few minutes to reach inside to enjoy the authentic misal pav but Santosh with his hard work & Dedication took many years to climb those stairs & reach to that place right from the Rekdi on the Road to having a shop of his with his helpers working hard to serve the taste of their misal pav.
Very Happy to see the way he has progressed where 20 yrs back there was no proper place to sit & have to stand & eat misal Pav on his Rekdi today you get all the possible facilties at his shop with other dishes then misal pav which are tasty, delicious & Authentic too.
Hope Santosh Misal continues to serve for many more years and the numbers keeps on getting added to enjoy his tasty misal pav.
The missal was awesome, spicy and delicious, what I didn't like is to wait for long for the table and then for the food, they really need to add space and tables for the customer as of I know it's famous for its missal so far.

Lovely misal is all that i can say. I have been eating misal since raviraj was my student back in 2015. So he told me that his dad has his outlet. I visited it once and then whenever food is not prepared at home for lunch then my mom says go have misal pav from sai nagar.

Oohh the Misal was soo soo tasty.. Had a really good Misal after long time. You will get Curd also along with Misal at extra charge. Best option for Misal in Vasai. It opens till 2 in afternoon with limited seating capacity. You may have to wait for your turn sometimes. But its totally worth.
The batata vada was fresh and the misal was tasty. You can ask to make it spicy or less of it according to your wish. Service is great. Price of 2 plate Vada misal with 2 paav and 1 dahi at Rs.115 is fantastic. Will visit again and try more of their dishes. Highly recommended.

It was a good experience misal was tasty and very much favourful as compared to other misals I tasted in vasai.Tarri was spicy (the customize the spice levels if u want so) plz have some sweet to tone down the effect.Very nice and good food.wanted to relish the misal sitting at santosh misal only but,I got it parceled and enjoyed the hot deliciousness of misal indoors.
I just wanted to give some feedback regarding the ambience of santosh misal they are very attentive towards the customers but although I felt like the owner was having a issue with other customer earlier and he was in his aura offcourse I understand it happens when it comes to business. But don't just carry forward the vibes serving other customers 😊.

It's a hidden gem of Vasai. Lip smacking misal at pocket friendly price. The owner is an epitome of customer service. I offered to pay while placing the order and he politely suggested that we don't take payment before the customer has finished eating Only downside is there is very limited seating option. I would recommend takeaway option if visiting in larger groups.
