The very best place in vizag when it comes to fine dining. I tried their ajwaini fish starter, murg malai kabab, lamb sheekh kebab , prawns chilly and water chestnut chilly. Everything was good. Do try the water chestnut chilly for which you have to specifically order as it's not in the menu. The ambience is the best and service is great.

Lived the ambience and the view from the restaurant. Ordered Dahi Kabab which were nice but Patrani Machi was top of the world. Overall enjoyed the evening.
The place might seem expensive but it is worth going to. Every dish that I've had was amazing. Plus, the interiors give a royal and luxury feel. The time to get the order can be improved though
I just had the thali here and it was nice, would rate it a 3.5. I wouldn't call it excellent though, nothing really stood out as stellar except for the aalu matar fry. I wish the alu Chaat served as a salad didn't depend so much on tomato sauce for taste. The shahi tukda version is quite different from the one served in the North India but equally delicious.
The best part about the ambience is the beautiful view of hotel grounds and the sea beyond that. The service was good too.
Nice place with a good ambience and a live singer to set the mood. The preparations too were good. The kadhai paneer and zaffrani kofta were both delectable, however the naan were quite crisp and could have been softer. The servers were also good and looked after us well. Overall a nice place to spend the evening.
The Sweetness of the traditional sweet steals the show in the Zaffarani CrΓͺpe Rabri Roll. The milky filling is rolled within freshly made crΓͺpes, visually resembling the European Swiss Roll.

A nice restaurant with humble staff. Novotel all restaurants in Vizag are good but food served here in Zaffran is amazing. Chicken tikka was very well cooked and candle night with my wife and it all went very good due to cooperation with staff.
My 4 Stars goes for the ambience and setup. Itβs quiet and good for special occasions but bit heavy on the pocket.
Coming to food, this review is specially for the patrani machli and it was heavenly. The rest is regular run of the mill affair but with a little bit of sophistication.
The service is not top class and was just ok
The zaffran had some of the finest indian dishes. We liked the lamb dished called zaffarni sikandar rani or something similar. The chef bikaram naiyaik was so kind to explain the dish and i do get his recommendation when ever i visit the restaurant he is a wonderful chef and have wonderful and friendly stuff to serve
As far as vegetarian food is concerned, this is probably the best place in Visakhapatnam. I ordered a broccoli starter and Paneer tikka. They served 5-6 pieces each but the taste was mesmerising.
The ambience is simply superb for a family dine.
The main course also tasted good but the must have item is their Dal Makhani which is crafted to perfection.
The staff are also very courteous and friendly.

We were indecisive about trying zaffran or pizza at βthe squareβ, we decided to give this a shot and based on the recommendation of staff with a golden tattoo we ordered βPatrani Machliβ, it was so good, tenderly cooked, simple taste.
Second dish was raan, the portion was big enough to feed 5 people but we were only 2. Itβs a awadhi-rajasthani dish of minced lamb thigh cooked with spices.
I would love to try the fish again here and so should you.

Visited on a weekend for dinner. Zaffran is always been a classy place for me for dinners. Had ordered biryani, mutton. It was bit spicy. So dont forget to place your order with specifications if any. Otherwise zaffran is always one of the best places for dinners.
Happy to state that the Zaffran of South Mumbai and Zaffran of Vizag are somewhat similar in taste, with Vizag locale stealing the show for its fine dine ambience and location in Novotel. Have been frequenting the place for various food fests organised here, ranging from Street food to Nizami cuisine! though bit pricey, it is recommended for all the dishes on menu!
I had their buffet quite some time back. Loved the food. Too much of variety - from veg to non-veg, from Indian to Italian to Chinese...from salads to dessert....a very sumptuous meal that I won't be forgetting for a long time!

Zaffran is one of the best places for fine dining in Vizag. The food is excellent and the staff is very polite and always ready to help. I find this place very comfortable both for family outings or for casual get-together with friends. My wife celebrated my birthday here on 15/04/2017 and the staff took care for arranging the cake and candles. The Singer exclusively sang a request song made by my wife for me. I and my family liked this place very much.

Zaffran is a fine dining Indian retaurant and I have been visiting this here since its launch of Novotel Varun Beach hotel, as one of the most authentic destination in the city of Visakhapatnam.
The people @Zaffran are carefully choosen and
they are very helpful too. The siting facility within
Zaffran is comfortable and relaxing and you have a glass window through which you can see the
Chefs touching up on recepie.
The prawn and fish delicacies are wonderful and mutton rogan josh cooked in the Indian style is simply awesome.
I have ordered a Dal cooked in Indian style with Basamati Rice and mutton which is mouth watering
and the Chefs took special care so that they do not burn the spices while cooking. This makes the food texture homogeneous and lip smacking.
The decor is amazing however service at times becomes slow and could be very irritating. I have spoken to the Executive Chef of the hotel and they told me of inmediate plans to restructure the entire
retaurant as a North Western Frontier specialty restaurant.
Amazing place, amazing ambience, amazing service! But The was food average. I've been to zaffran quite a number of times, the food has always satisfied me. Yesterday I had gone there for my parents anniversary party, we were 15 people. The food was very cold. We had ordered 4 starters, all of them cold. The drink was horrible. Rose water with lemon was bad too.
They got rice while we were having naan and curry. Which was kept aside for a while and they were serving us like that, cold.
It's a good place for 5-6 people not more than that, because they can't handle it.

The ambience of this place was very good and eating here itself is an experience of its own. The service was a bit slow though. The food we ordered took some time to be brought but it was delicious. The tandoor dishes were well cooked and had its flavours . Even the presentations of the dishes were fine but the taste of the biryani was not upto the mark . It needs improvement in the biryani though.

Favourite Indian restaurant in the city. Amazing vegetarian food. The dal makhani is exceptional and so are the kebabs. Not too expensive for the kind of food they serve.

Bhindi chota pyaaz & the Chicken biryani were just soooo yum so delicious! Absolutely loved it, and loved that night here! Unbelievably good food.
Its been 5th time I have come from Delhi and have been to this restraunt, it looks good at the pool side. Much better than The Square at novotel, atleast sumthn diffrent than regular buffet.

What I really like about Novotel is the way they have managed natural light. That's one thing common in all the restaurants and despite my bad experiences with food at this hotel, I keep coming back here for the ambience it offers.
The tab based menu is same for at zaffran like that of Infiniti, the roof top. Limited items can be an advantage if the makers are flawless in making and serving it. It can back fire if there's a little mistake.
We ordered Paneer Tikka and American corn for starters, kadhai Paneer, palak kofta and dal makhni for main course. Palak kofta was one good stuff I have had recently. Dal makhni at novotel is anyway popular. Both the Paneer items were a little disappointing. Overall I was given some good food at Novotel finally.
Novotel is definitely the most beautiful of the hotels in this wonderful city. We decided to try their Indian Ala Carte restaurant one day and visited Zaffran. The tomato soup was thick and well prepared. In main course, we ordered a dish of paneer and it was decent, not great though. The ambience of the place was very rich with live harmonium and tabla being played adding a glitter to the decor. The service and hospitality of the place was exceptional. Overall a very warm place for dinner.

This is the second time of my visit here. No doubt that the ambiance and the food quality is good which makes it's a must visit place. A suggestion for the new customers is that to reserve your table before time as there is always a rush and delay of time if not done so.
We had been to zaffran hotel in Novotel vizag. Pretty good food. We had panner palak, bhindi fry, dal fry and other vegetarian dishes and all were good. Service could have been a bit faster...overall a nice experience
Having been to most hotels in vizag wanted to visit high end place.. This place is pretty cool. Everything from the ambience to the food to the live music all just come together .
Food was delicately spiced(but noticeable) a refreshing welcome from the other places. Ordered d shorba soup, tandoori paneer, palak kofta curry, amritsari kulcha n missi roti.. All were good.. A bit heavy on the price but definitely worth it. Would love to visit this place again!

All the above except for the price has gone down! Extremely heavy handed on the spices with just about everything. Better off with any average restaurants around the city! Adios zaffran! Will not visit again!
Zaffran which is one amongst the restaurants in Novotel. It serves Indian cuisine. Biryanis are a must try here and the other dishes on the menu are also good. None of them are disappointing. You will love the ambience of this place especially in the evenings..they have dim lights inside and the most of the light is from the candles.

What you need after a day of hard work is a bottle of beer, some good live music and good food. This place has it all. Was staying at novotel for 4 days and visited Zaffran a couple of times. The food is amazing, yes it takes a generous amount of time for the order to come to the table, but its worth it. Ordered chicken chettinad for my friend, I had a dal and paneer dish with naan which was well made. Nice ambience too. Lunch times the restaurant is empty but dinner time its buzzing. Worth a visit if u r in Visakh.

The Rann musallam here is a must have. Other North Indian tandoori dishes are also well prepared except for the fish which is pretty average. Ambience and service is very good.

A nice and clean place to dine and wine. But on the expensive side due to the Novotel brand. Nice selection of indian cuisine with both north and South Indian dishes. There is a nice view of the Bay of Bengal.The service is also excellent.

I happened to taste a lot of things and almost everything was very well made. They serve up conventional North Indian food without messing around with it. It would probably be the best restaurant in Vizag for that cuisine.
My recommendations would be:-
Patrani machi, methi matar sheekh, Gilafi sheekh, ajwaini jhinga, dal makhni, malai kofta, Nalli Nihari, tandoori jhinga masala, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan!
Great tasting Ala carte food. The Bhatti Ka Murgh tikka was awesome. The methi roti was very light and fluffy. The malpua was delicious. The Staff is very courteous. It's a little too pricey, but would I definitely would recommend it to people who can afford it.
It's very nice experience for me.its best Indian and South Indian restaurant in all vizag good atmosphere very well groomed staff and also good service πππand I preferred very one visit ZAFFRAN restaurant of Novotel.
They had a Rajasthan food festival and brought in a chef from Rajastan. The vegetarian thali was delicious. Will count this among the best meals I ever had.

We reserved a table for lunch, on the day of our wedding anniversary. I am glad I made this choice, the ambiance was very good, and the food was great ! Dal Makhani was one of the items we ordered, with which my mother and wife were so pleased that they asked to convey special compliments to the chef for the same! So delicately & authentically it was prepared. The starters and remaining Main course tasted good too, the quantities were on the higher side. The veggies used were clearly fresh and had a bite, spice was on the moderate side, which I appreciate , however unusual it is for restaurants of Andhra. All this said, I must mention most of the credit goes to the chef, the staff at the front end were not upto the mark, they could not explain most of what the preparations constituted of , on the menu. They were either clueless or had incomplete information , however polite. I would really recommend them to work on knowing what and how the items in the menu were made of. For instance, we ordered a warm almond cake for dessert and the cake arrived cold straight out of the fridge , on asking for why it was cold in contrast to what was written on the menu, the waiters were clueless. Except for minor training aspects like this at the front end, the substance and ambiance that we paid for, was absolutely great !
