Very good and recommended hotel to visit with family and friends. Here we get different style of malabar taste in food. They prepare with the original authenticity. I really liked the taste. And even the service from the staff is also decent enough.

We had very good experience dining at Mumtaz. The food was very good, taste-wise. Must try their fish meals, noodles, egg curries and paneer items.

We had been here as part of our Hubli - Honnaver journey, we were here at around 11pm and ordered Bangda fish thali for 13 people which took a bit of time to prepare (Around an hour) and finally food was served, Ambience is not that great but food was tasty and the crowd at such late night proved it was famous among the locals.

Just like that we went in for dinner without searching much. The food tasted excellent. Well maintained restaurant. Pricing seems to be a bit higher for most of the foods.

Great place for dining in with generous portion sizes – be sure to check before ordering. The gravy serves four people, and the tandoori chicken is excellent. While the gajar ka halwa was okay, the Rava fish fry is a definite must-try. Additionally, the paan shop owner below the restaurant is incredibly friendly.

Had dinner at Mumtaz hotel. We ordered chicken tawa, Angara Chicken, Fried Rice. The fried rice was perfectly cooked, it was flavored well and moist. Chicken tawa was tender and delicious. The angara chicken was very delicious. They also serve one of the best parotas, soft and light on the stomach. If you are someone who loves spicy dishes then you should try this. The staff was very friendly and their service was quick.

I had been to this place few years back when I was returning from Karwar. Was not comfortable after seeing the entrance though my friend had suggested as it was not that great look and kids didn't like. But instead of searching for one more, went ahead with it. Finally, I had packed food for dinner too. Amazing taste in that small town. It is a must try if you are around lunch time. Not sure about any recent renovation though.

We were a good bunch of people. Went to the ac family room. Lollipop was nice. We unfortunately couldn't take mutton Biryani because someone just took home everything they had. We took chicken tikka, some soups, hariyali chicken, chicken Biryani, ice creams, paans, and sodas. Would give it 3.5

So I visited this place while on our way to Bangalore from Goa. Very old and well maintained restaurant. They serve good non-veg and veg food. We had both veg and non-veg food, we also had their special Gajar-ka-halwa which was very yummy and one should try this without fail. We had Veg manchow and chicken manchow soup, Panner pepper dry and chicken pepper dry as the starters. Chicken Biriyani, prawns biriyani and Panner biriyani for the main course which was also good. But I felt the Panner wasn’t fresh.

Mumtaz is also called Hotel Kaka. This is oldest hotel. In yellapur since 1933. To say about the taste quality is really really yummy biryani. The masala used in biryani blends in mouth and tpuched the pallet giving mouthfull experience. Fish thali is super sold there Biryani have two quality, basmati and small rice. Tandoori was also super taste.

One of the finest dining restaurant in Yellapur Authentic Halal food. Dishes to lookout for: 1. Mutton Dry Fry 2. Chicken Tandoori 3. Malai Kabbab. Decent place for family dining. Note for Travellers: Well Maintained and Clean restrooms. (A little constraint for people with difficulty to walk)

Good place. Parking is very limited. One has to stop elsewhere. It is present on the main road. Chicken and Mutton biriyani is very famous. When we visited I tried chicken biriyani and tandoori chicken... Which was superb. Service speed is pretty slow. The hotel space is small and limited. During peak hours one can expect to wait for some time to get place to sit. The taste of biriyani is sooo amazing and quantity is pretty much ok for a normal appetite person. But like us it doesn't full our stomach completely. Anyways when you have to travel for long distance it is always good to not have stomach full

Amongst the best restaurants in Yellapur, Hotel Mumtaz has a simple ambience, but quick service and superb food. While it is famous for its non veg food, we tried some vegetarian dishes like the Veg Schezwan Fried Rice and Paneer Chilly. The rice was very well cooked and flavourful while the Paneer Chilly was one of the best I've tried. The Air Conditioned space on the top is very useful due to the hot weather in summer. The washroom for the hotel was very clean. Overall a great place to stop for lunch on your way to Karwar or Goa.
