Nestled among corporate houses and shops in a bylane adjacent to Ashram road, this place can go unnoticed unless you know of its existence. At the same time it is unique for the preparations. In the Hindu Shravan month, which is an entire month of fasting, they serve all kinds of farali food items (items permissible to eat on a fast in Hindu belief). Everything from farali suki bhaji (potato preparation) to rajagara puri, farali vadas and bhajiyas and chips.
Their speciality is ratalu bhajiyas (that can be roughly translated to yam dumplings). These are yummy bhajiyas with yam stuffing and specialty masala powder sprinkled over. Served with two kinds of chutneys and fried green chilli, ratalu bhajiyas are probably commonly available in Surat but this one is the only place in Ahmedabad that serves this item. They also have ratalu chips that you can buy for a snack. The place offers a range of other tasty bhajiyas and farali items.
The shop has a verandah like setup outside covered in sheds where there is limited seating. Eat the delicacies served piping hot here itself or some packed for home.
An absolute must visit place for people in search of variety/specialty food items. Explore!
