We decided to visit Oko when we saw that there was a 50% off offer through Zomato Gold Carnival. When we reached, we were informed that it was closed but when we informed them that we had a booking, we were allowed to have dinner.
We started with the soup. Before it was delivered, we were given nachos as an appetizer I guess which was quite tasty. We then had a Miso Prawn soup which was also nice.
For starters, we had Jirou Jicai Jio dumplings and Kai Takrai chicken, both of which were very nice.
For the main course, we had the Chicken Phad Thai. I also wanted to try the rice, so we packed a Khao Phad Kaprao fried rice which we had yesterday. The rice tasted great but the Phad Thai had something lacking. That was the only item we weren't completely satisfied by.
The lighting was very dim, perhaps because the restaurant was supposed to be closed. Our server Mr Shyamal was very helpful and a pleasure to interact with. Overall, we had a very nice experience apart from the Phad Thai.
An underrated place, Oko serves some brilliant Thai and Chinese food. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of ingredients used and the sustainable practises that they follow.
Some recommended dishes include their range of Thai Curries(made from scratch inhouse) and the Pandan Leave Chicken. Understated ambience is in stark contarast to Kitty Ko nearby.
I was here for mandarin calling chinese food festival enjoyed every single offering. I loved the crispy lamb, lemon grass corn soup, crystal dumplings, eggplant in blackbean sauce and chocolate bao.
