I am not from Bangalore so when I visited here and thought to have a North Indian meal after many days
So I was in search of good restaurant with tasty food, I went to Zaatar and ordered
Butter Paneer Masala and Aloo Paratha, to my surprise it was very very delicious and I loved the meal.
It is bit costly but for North Indian food lover like me in Bangalore this place is amazing.
I have been to this place several times now with my last visit being in the 1st week Feb this year. With an beautiful and cozy ambance this place has a lot to offer especially in BBQ and kebabs.
I have tried BBQ chicken, Afghani BBQ, Badami BBQ, Tandoori chicken, Akbari kebab, chicken lollipop, chicken Punjabi, chicken kolhapur, chicken briyani, spl. Chicken shawarma and royal falooda.
BBQ chicken was nice and juicy and fork tender... Meat was literally falling of the bones. so was the case with Afghani BBQ and Badami BBQ. All the BBQs are served with pita bread, mayo and hummus which nicely compliment the BBQ and make them a complete meal.
Tandoori chicken was nice spicy and full of flavours served with some onions and mint chutney which took tandoori to a whole new level.
Akbari kebab was something that excited me the most. It looks like an ordinary chicken sheek kebabs until you dig into it. They are stuffed (probably some kind of minced meat). Serve a generous portion along with dips that goes really good with the kebabs.
Chicken kolhapur and chicken Punjabi are the only gravies that I have tried here. They were decent in taste with kolhapuri obviously being on the spicy side. The chicken in the gravies where full of flavours completely soaked up in the gravies. The chicken were as usual fork tender and had melt in mouth texture. Garlic naan and tandoori roti went really good with the gravies.
Briyani was decent with chicken nicely cooked.
Royal falooda was presented well with a generous portion being served. Tase was good as well overall falooda was little above avg.
Spl. Shawarma was juicy and delicious. It didn't feel like we are having a dry chicken wrap unlike other places. They add generous amount of mayo and chicken into it and at no point you will feel like you are having a dry chicken wrap.
Overall a nice place with a friendly staff and cozy & comfy ambiance. Though the waiting time here is littile longer it's still worth the time and money. A must visit place with your friends and family.
P.s. this is one of the most under rated restaurant when it comes to BBQ and Kebabs.
It's very difficult for a restaurant to manage arabian, Chinese, indian and Kerala food and maintain quality. This one does. It's our go-to for barbeques, hummus and North Indian.
