had been to Shivahalli restaurant self service wing. had uddina vade and masala dose. chutney was fantastic. Sambar was ok. Vade was crisp and tasted good. the shape of masala dose was unique and not the usuall. but the dose felt fat rather than thin crispy like elsewhere. but a good oprion for breakfast near Ashoka Pillar.
Good food, we visited during a holiday and also late in the night at 9pm. We ordered Kodabu Idli, Buns, Ghee Pudi Dosa, Ragi Ambli, Ganji. All of them were great, topping the list is Ragi Ambli and Idli. They were absolutely delicious, Ragi Ambli was thick as expected and very tasty served with Ghee. We also tried Bonda Soup, it was slightly salty and Vada didn’t seem fresh but it wasn’t that bad either. Next that topped the list was the Ganji, they served with coconut and green chilli Chutney and pickle, which was a great combo.
Buns was good they prepared fresh, but the sagu was a little different from what usually is served elsewhere. It wasn’t that bad, but something just did not add up. Ghee Dosa was just ok, not crispy, had it been a little crispy it would’ve been fantastic.
We moved towards the sweets, they have a lovely Badam Halwa in small tiny boxes. We tried it and was really tasty. We also tried Grape juice and Chandrahara sweet.
Service is quick and team is humble. Good ambience, the tables here are at perfect height, feels good to eat on those tables. You also get a good old Bengaluru vibe here. Despite so late the chutney they served was still fresh and not spoilt.
There are still some dishes that are interesting here, they also have Pastas, Sandwiches and more. We plan to explore those on our next visit.
Overall : 5/5 💯
You can never miss this place if in bengaluru. Have to go for its idli and coffee. Idli and chutney just absorbs. Need to get more chutney to have its complete favour. Even their khara Baath and vada are good. I have not tried recently both of them The coffee is a distinct taste
