Went there for lunch. All my 5 stars are for the food. The place is run by a tibétain family and is very small and homely.
If you are expecting good ambience this isn’t the place for u
We really enjoyed our meal here. Very interested to hear about the family who run it, now 4th generation of Chinese-Indians. The food was delicious, the kitchen is open to the dining area. A special dining experience in what is their family home above the restaurant. We had mapo tofu, mix veg and rice. 👌
I had seen this restaurant many times in the last couple of years when I was there on the 27th Main road HSR layout. I found out mostly negative reviews about this restaurant in most of the online platforms. After all these years suddenly this week I visited this restaurant for dinner, and on the contrary I felt that this restaurant should not deserve the negative reviews.
This is a vintage style Chinese restaurant , which has a Chinese traditional ambience, a kind of restaurant which you will see in China town , Kolkata. I spoke to Aunty , the owner of the restaurant , and she explained to me that her father came from China and settled in Kolkata. She was born and brought up in Kolkata and they moved to Bangalore around 20 years back . On the contrary to the reviews , she is very jolly and bright . She explained what dishes we can order and suggested a couple of noodles dishes for my son who generally doesn’t like spicy food. She understands Hindi and speaks broken Hindi which is very difficult to understand . Her Hindi dialect can be very easily perceived as rude behaviour.
This is a purely vegetarian restaurant serving Indian-Chinese food. The menu has a lot of options to choose from. We ordered soup , a starter and noodles . After the order was taken , the food was freshly prepared in the kitchen. It took around 20 mins for them to prepare the food and serve. All the items were delectable and awesome . Its Chinese food( Indian version of Chinese food) at its best !! . All the dishes were prepared with care and they were mildly spiced. The table already had some Chinese accompaniments like soy sauce, chilli vinegar , and a chilli ketchup which acted like appetiser elevator. We ordered whatever was suggested by the owner Aunty ,
The restaurant has a small but clean washroom and also clean hand wash basin . It doesn’t have a dedicated ;parking space, but you can park your vehicle on the adjacent road.
Overall , this is a very good Chinese restaurant , where you will get many kinds of veg Indo-chinese delicious food.
