If you live the words and the language, you may even love the food....yes it's Bangla.....ame tomai bhalobashi.
Bengalis by virtue love 3 things, food, adda (chat) and ladh (being lazy). The place is meant for all three.
A Sunday afternoon the best timing for over eating, fascinated chatting in the lazy decor of the beautiful place.
Decent food, great service, good decor, reasonable price and good location.
Went early for lunch on a weekday afternoon and it was not crowded. The service was very quick. They have an extensive fish menu. The things we liked were: Prawn cutlet, Bhetki fish cutlet, Dak Bunglow mutton and the sweet curd(very rich, tastes like rabdi).
Koi fish curry and Steamed Ilishi(Hilsa) were just average.
The taste of rice was a bit strange to us and the luchis(puris) were oily.
The potions were small, hence we could try out many dishes.
Authentic bengali food. The fish items are very good. Bhetki poturi, pomfret sorse, illish sorse and jumbo prawn are must try. The ambience is pretty good with beautiful paintings of bengali culture. The mishti doi at the end is all you need to end ur lunch
