Completely bowled over by the set-up and the ambiance #SpiceIt Do wait for my pics on their food options. Though it is a upscale restaurant, prices of food items are on par with a regular restaurant which is surprising 😍 Coming to the food now. It started with Classic Tomato Basil Soup followed by Abergine and Feta Salad. Then we were served with Phulka Soft Tacos with Peri Peri Soya(you also have Chicken for non-veg), Chur Chur Paratha,Dalmakhni, Absolute Classics, Chicken Tikka Biryani, Dal Makhni, Bondi Raita, Cheese Cake. I also ordered Lemon Juice, Mocktail. Classic Tomato soup, as they say was a classic. It tasted really awesome. It had a tangy taste and I could vouch that it tasted really different compared to the ones, I had before, elsewhere. I loved Pasta which were filling and topped with Olives and Garlic Bread. The feta salad was different(in a good way). Dalmakhni Chawal is something which shouldn't be missed. Bondi raita was love. Love the Black Currant ice-cream, Gulab Jamun and Cheese Cake which were served in the end. Do not miss it!! You will love it for sure.

The Spice It restaurant @IBIS Chennai, OMR/ Novotel are quite famous for their Buffets and I quite liked their concept of introducing the Tastes Of India, by bringing authentic dishes and flavours from all parts of India to Namma Chennai. Their new Buffet offering, highlighting the Purani Dilli & Amritsari Festival which offers recipes of Old Delhi and Amritsari Food runs from July 3 toJuly 13 is curated by Chef Ashwani Kumar costs Rs 899 All Inclusive. From Old Delhi and particularly the Chandni Chowk area which is very famous for its Chaats and the Parathas the representation for the festival was the live counter serving delicious varieties of Chaat like Channa Papdi Chaat, Aloo Tikki and Kachori Sabzi. The Aloo Parathas and Paneer Parathas were made fresh on the Tawa and served with the usual accompaniments of Achaar ( Pickles) and Curds. When you think of Amritsar, the first thought is the Golden Temple and their Langar. In which one is served a simple meal of Rotis and Dal. This was replicated at the festival by the inclusion of these items which would be a novelty for us Chennai Wasis. A must try dish. The main characteristict of this cuisine is the usage of Desi Ghee in their preparation which is quite healthy. Started with a typical North Indian soup - Murgh Badami Shorba which was quite a pleasant start to the meal. The starters served included Mahi Mahi Fish Tikka, a very tasty Veg Shammi Kabab which was sweet as well as spicy and really good and the Iconic Tandoori Chicken. Some of the other Veg dishes in the buffet were Paneer Makhni,Khumb Mutter, Aloo Methi Ke Tehri- this is like a common man's food which Iam sure none of us have tried before, its a simple rice preparation with potatoes and methi leaves. I have to mention this special dish-Delhi Nihari Gosht which is off cuts of mutton which is simmered overnight with whole garam masala which results in tender meat with a very subtle flavour and goes well with rice or rotis. Patiala Shahi Murgh was another gravy preparation which was very delicious. The Indian representation of the Dessert selection was a very delicious Gajjar Ka Halwa and the rest of the Continental selections included Mud Pie and chocolate Almond Tart. Chef Muthukumar was kind enough to explain everything and the thought process behind hosting this food festival and I was mightiliy impressed by his commitment and vision to bring the Tastes Of India to Namma Chennai. The service was quite exellent though they were quire swamped with customers.

went to 'Spice It ' in ibis hotel for Saturday dinner. While I reserved a table I had wait. One of the waiters even asked me to check the restaurant 'Square' in Novotel which is just adjacent to ibis and surprisingly both hotels share the same entry & exit. I was shocked, however another waiter asked me to wait and got me a table. I went for the buffet as it was preplanned. The spread was limited as 3 had only 3 non-veg starter (one of them was egg bonda), just one non-veg gravy and chicken biriyani. Veg options were some what better. Deserts and salads were good enough. Chicken started was not cooked properly. I just have the feedback, but the waiters got a different dish for the same, which was a good gesture. Many others around had gone for alacarte. Looking at the menu i saw it was reasonably priced and I should have gone for it.

We celebrated our daughter's second birthday at Spice it restaurant @IBIS Shollinganallur. The entire process from planning to executing was smooth and the staff (Suresh, Kumar and Mamta) were cooperative attending to our needs. The Chef Mr. Saravanan was always available for menu discussions and was welcoming of the changes and suggestions. We asked them to make the birthday cake, the Pastry Chef made a beautiful and delicious fondant cake. On the day of the event, the staff were supportive and the service was excellent. We mainly had kids and the hotel staff were very patient and accomodative towards the kids. The kids were given special kids menu and they enjoyed it. The guest had a wonderful experience and the food was delicious.
