Bunbutterjam, mutton keema samosas with Tea is best evening snacks at most cost friendly
Food:
Chicken Biryani/Mutton Biryani – Well, there is some stiff competition for the best biryani in Chennai. A basmati rice biryani with little frills (Cardamoms and Cinnamon sticks) and more of the slightly sweet tender meat. The chicken Biryani had the leg piece while the mutton had the chest. The richness of the Biryani was obvious in every scoop. The meat was tender, juicy and even the jelly-ness was enjoyable. MUST TRY!!
Chicken 65 – What is a meal without trying out 65 at its birthplace. It was tender and juicy on the inside, mild-spiced and very crunchy on the outside, GOOD
Mutton Samosa – Tiny crunchy triangles with moderate meat level; not so great but the dips alone were too good
Hunan veg fried rice – No-spice rice with a variety of veggies, served with a bowl of their hot peppery Hunan sauce; since the sauce had good spice level, along with the rice it was good
5/5 for Biryani; rest were just good!!
Ambience/Price:
Their ambience is definitely their biggest plus; great seating space in both AC and Non-AC sections; service too was swift and courteous. But, the lack of parking space was frustrating; couldn’t whine about it since this place is right in the heart of the city.
Also, the price was a concern for a few dishes; they shall re-consider it.
