Elegantly designed cafe serving delicious food. We had a red velvet pancake , chicken burger and a veg burger all tasted great. Service too was friendly and quick...
Well, sometimes taking time out to read other reviews does shape your perception and your own expectation as to how a review should shape up .
Reading some of the other reviews made me feel the place has oscillating fortunes and mixed views , with its own share of accolades and criticism.
So I'd like to take this issue on a war footing and produce a review that's objective , and one that people can relate to with something to take away .
The ambience , has scathing comments about it being simple with no frills. So this comes from the expectation of having something lavish. For starters , the place is neat , and in order , with the tables being well spaced out. Nothing fancy , simple white theme as far as the tables and chairs are concerned. A slightly annoying pillar comes in between to shape the aesthetics but the management has done well to create it as a station or pit stop for crockery, plates and so on. It shouldn bother you , if you are there for the food , but nevertheless it's comfortable, neat and by and large should suffice for a cafe
As to the service , a couple of staff who one must say are largely active , could be even more receptive and on the look out for a few aggrieved or vexed customers!!!!! I found them to be a tad slow ,but courteous. Could be nice if they can sport a smile and be more warm and hospitable. The food came on time and so did the desserts. No complaints there really.
Let's get down to dissect the quality , spread , taste and pricing of the food. Again reviews widely vary , and big differences unearth. But then to each his own , and something that the management can work on in terms of some complaints.
The spread is decent with sandwiches ,burgers , pastas and salads, which come with options for both the plant eater and the carnivore . An array of desserts to add to this.
Getting specific, and the first mention must go to the " goeey chocolate" that's truly seductive. It seduces you with the long flowing nature , the chill or frozen touch to it , the beaker that houses it and the way it simply melts in your mouth. Not too sweet as well, it's easily my benchmark for anything "chocolate " as a dessert. My irrational excitement in writing about the dessert first must add testimony to it being the pick of it all ! It's pricey , that's an accusation but then good things do tend to be so. Besides, can rants and accusation make managements bring prices down?
We had the cheesy fries as starter and a panel tikka sandwich and vegetable burger as main course. Absolutely nothing to crib about. The patty that the burger had tasted perfect without an overdose of "aloo/potato" . The panel tikka sandwich is more like a club sandwich with three layers and generous stuffing of paneer ! Statutory warning to those on a diet or wanting to head downhill with their calories. The cheesy fries is a perfect accompaniment to the above too. The liquefied or molten cheese in yellow dripping from the sides , make it a no brainer for a fries fan.
This review shouldn't end with heaps of praises, and feel like a paid job!!!! (No,it's not). The tomatoes cut into tiny pieces and spread over the cheesy fries seems like an attempt to put the goodness to rest and dampen the spirits of the cheese and the hit and crisp fries. Now , please do something to stop this. And once you are done , you could contemplate as to the pricing which does seem a tad lofty with regard to the immediate competitors. A good experience and a happy tummy does shield all this , but a bad day can make you be at the receiving end of a bullets on the pricing front.
Cant get over of coming here again and again....
