A humid day of temple visits saw us at Annavilaas at Mylapore Chennai for a quick bite, quite recently.
The outlet was spotless and brightly lit. The fare we asked for, though limited, was good and delish. The service was prompt and the staff tend to hover sometimes.
They claim to have branches in the UAE and the Netherlands.
Does garner another visit soon.
Located in the busy intersection of Mylapore, entrance of Sri Sai Baba Temple, hotel Annavilas was my dinner spot.
Beautiful clean restaurant, brightly lit with basement two wheeler parking.
But I was greeted by empty tables at 8pm, Saturday!!!
A Nepali girl took our order as speaking in fluent English and she told me that North Indian cuisine was not available only dosa, porota etc. oh yes Rava dosa was also not available.
Anyway, I ordered a butter masala dosa and onion uthapam. U just can't go wrong in this,!
Fair enough, they came in hot and nicely done. And to my amusement the tables also started filling in.
I would think the busy traffic intersection is not contributing to the crowd inside.
Anyway I hope they maintain the taste and quality!

Authentic South Indian taste. Qty and service is good. Poori taste was traditional. Also the bhel poori chaat was too good, mild spicy, easy to chew. Coffee was excellent but price is 38, which is quite high. We had a small evening tiffin. There was a new item called podi bonda. Looked good in the pic. Will try next time. The atmosphere has a divine experience. Soulfull divine music was being played. Even though, it was near the road, outside traffic sound was not heard inside. Also they prepare in a hygienic manner. Keep it. Kindly reduce the prices a bit.
