We went to visit Norbulingka monastery, had food at this restaurant. It's a wonderful place to dine. Tibetan food is is good. Norling Hummingbird Cafe has good ambience and quick service. Here we can have coffee. Food is freshly prepared. Have meals at relaxed atmosphere.
I had a few things but forget all the names.
The tofu with mushrooms and broccoli and dumplings was one of my favorites. The dumplings have tofu inside and taste delicious. Super healthy.
The tofu and mushrooms and tomato sauce was delicious. The sauce is similar to marinara (since it is made out of tomatoes and I'm guessing some oil) and has some spiciness. Also a great choice.
The egg noodle tofu wasn't great. A bit too oily. Okay.
The vegetable pakora was gross. It just tasted like fried food (which I guess is what you're asking for, since that's literally the description) but I didn't like it. It also wasn't salty enough. Like if I'm ordering some fried food, add some salt so it tastes really good! I did add some salt but felt gross afterwards. Just not worth the unhealthiness (some foods are worth it, but this wasn't that tasty either).
The fruit smoothies I had were fantastic. Watermelon was my favorite. It's not a pure juice - they include some of the solids mixed in, which made it even better especially for the watermelon. The mango smoothie was also great. I'm unsure if I had any smoothies besides those two.
I think my favorite part was being able to come here from my hotel room and just relax and enjoy a good meal. Or have the food delivered to my hotel room. I felt like I was living in luxury. It was all very cheap by American standards, but also super convenient and the garden and temple surrounding the hotel is a relaxing and inspiring environment conducive to meditation or just being happy.
All up to par, cakes delicious with wide selection - recommend sitting under a tree in the garden breeze ^^ thank you!
