While at Double Tree by Hilton Gurugram, we made the most of our stay enjoying in the suite and relishing the super yummy multi-cuisine spread at The Food Store restaurant.
We had lunch on both days at The Food Store which is open 24 hours and offers flavours from around the world- contemporary western cuisine and South East Asian specialities including wide array of Malay, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian and Indian cuisines. Wooden structure around in the middle is where you would see coffee brewing and an assortment of cakes and pastries. Pia took great care of us and Chef Nitin Jain whipped amazing recipes. The wide choice of seating is divided in indoor and outdoor area. The seating had a fibre sheet divider with a QR code for digital menu.
We started with Amuse Bouche which was made with watermelon and balsamic vinegar along with sea salt, feta cheese and topped with micro greens. Post which we tried the Kiwi Cooler which was a true refresher. In starters we tried Paneer Tikka, Dahi ke Kebab and Murgh Tikka Lal Mirch. All of them were amazing. Had perfect taste and were soft. We also tried the Sambal Chilly Fish which was true to its name- fiery and hot. Arrabiata pasta extended a great taste. In mains, we had Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, Paneer Lababdar and Jeera Rice. My recommendation would be Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani which were both classic and amazing. Our main course was accompanied with an assortment of breads. For beverages, my favourite was the Immunity Booster which had apple, carrot and beetroot. We also tried Virgin mojito and fresh lime.
The other lunch we had at the same restaurant was a mix of Indian, Chinese, Italian and Continental. Chilly Chicken dry was amazing and so were the Honey Chilli Potato. Kung Pao Chicken was out of the world with its unique flavour and we accompanied it with Hakka Noodles and Fried Rice. Chicken and thyme burger had a really thick chicken patty which was incredible and also had cheese, pickles, caramelized onion in a sesame bun. DT Vegetarian Thali came with an assortment of Hare Matar ki Shammi, Paneer Lababdar, Subz ka Mela, Dal Makhani, Kheere ka Raita, Jeera Pulao, Tawa Phulka and Gulab Jamun. We also tried Bucatini Aglio Olio e Pepperonchino served along with Garlic bread which was at its classic best. Hot Chocolate and Cappuccino became our friends on the wintery afternoon.
Special Thanks to Anuj Dixit, Pia and Chef Nitin Jain for the lovely hospitality.
