We halted here on our way to Ranikhet. The restaurant is quite old. This place is spacious and it can accommodate 50+ customers at a time. We ordered Masala Dosa, Veg Sandwiches & Filter Coffee. Dosa was crispy & had tasty potato filling. Sandwiches were very basic with cucumber and tomatoes in it. Filtered coffee was nice and frothy. The price is very reasonable here. And the service was quick. Also if you are going on a long road journey towards Kumaon, you'll definitely need washrooms. The washrooms were clean. You can surely take a halt here.

Udupiwala has been a staple for serving authentic South Indian delicacies in this region . Located right before you enter the kumaon mountain ranges near kathgodam this restaurant has all the South Indian delicacies one can imagine ! There is indeed a timeless rustic charm about this restaurant , although the interiors are not fancy but it is very practical and can cater to heavy crowds in a a very efficient manner ! I had ordered for a set dosa , the meal comprised of 3 dosas rich in batter along with vegetable korma , sambhar and the combination of tomato , mint and coconut chutneys . To gulp it down I opted for the timeless classic "Filter coffee"
Although I arrived very early , the service was prompt and very smooth .
The meal here made me almost nostalgic and took me back to my days when I was a student in Chennai !!
Fantastic experience would definitely return someday !!

This Restaurant is located at haldwani road (on the way to kathgodam), and best for its lunch to the travellers who are exiting nainital. We reached around 11:40 am, only to find the ground space fully occupied. Thanks to its two floor seating, we were able to get a table for 5. As we saw there menu, we found both north and South Indian dishes available for order. The prices are very promising equally to their food quality. Its was a great ambience and taste.
