what made me to go here?? Yes their restaurant name, Biryani VS Pulav , made me to visit here for lunch. They have two outlet , one in kphb and other at kondapur. I been to kondapur. This is located where there will be so much of traffic all the time, i.e. kondapur x road single. Restaurants has got only indoor dining but not fine dining. Restaurant can has 15 tables , each table can accommodate 4 persons.
Ambiance is very simple and neat with hardly 3-4 frames at corner. There were two Television where both bollywood song in one tv & tollywood songs were played in other tv.
Food on my table:-
To start with, Veg Manchow soup :- served while its too hot, it was spicy with few veggies added giving us crunchy touch with deep fried noodles. This soup is rich in fiber which indeed provides us a healthier diet. As winter is here, added soup to our diet would be healthier.
Chilli mushroom:-it is basically a Indo-chinese recipe. The starter is made up off deep fried mushroom. Mushroom was coated with some floor and than deep fried, served with few chopped onions and capsicum. Mushroom are spicy and taste at the same time with assorted onions and capsicum, sprinkled with spring onions.
Babycorn fry:- Baby corn is one of the delectable starter for almost all the vegetarians. Here babycorn fry has got some kind of taste, which i found difficult to figure it out. Baby corn was tender and topped with mint over all the starter. I wouldn't differentiate the taste, however the taste was good.
why puloa is not biryani????
Both the dishes differ through the preparation method.
Pulao:-
This is central Asia dish, in its simplest form it involves preparation where rice and all veggies are cooked with predetermined water and sealed the container, under slow flame. This India descent food than Biryani. Puloa preparation involves absorption where water is absorbed in rice.
There will be no laters of veggies in puloa.
Biryani:- This became popular from Muslim population, and its a time consuming process. Rice is par boiled in water and drained. This is drained process where rice and veggies are partiay cooked separately, and than layered one as veggies and other layers with fried onions.
Guthi vankaya pulav:- This is basically egg plant where it is roasted and than mixed up spices and added to rice. This dish looks colourful, where most of the pulav are not colorful. Quantity
of the food is little.
Kaju paneer biryani:-
Paneer was not soft, and there were no fried onions. however we can see few kaju. Biryani is served with salaan and raita. There was no strong aroma of biryani.
Ghee sambar:- Less aroma of ghee. Sambar rice is like one pot meal, because of ghee , it can be heavy for one person. And yes this place is not a synonym for sambar rice.
Recommendations:- Guthi vankaya pulav
Quality:-4
Quantity , it was more when i ordered it from zomato or may i felt so.
Ambience:-3.5
value for money:-4
Thanks to zomato gold, I regularly order food from here during my official trip to Hyderabad. Mostly I go with chicken starters - kalmi kebab, pahadi kebab which are my favorite. Once I had ordered chicken biryani which was also nice. They have plenty of food options, however, I haven't experienced other dishes.
Once I went to this place to have a dine-in experience. I found the decor/ambience to be good. That day I ordered, chicken Tikka kebab, Andhara chicken gravy (boneless) and wheat roti. Portion sizes are sufficient for two people. Service is also satisfactory.
Overall, it's a good option for non-veg people to try out this restaurant.
Loved the simple experience of having too much biryani in one go. This place is best for 2 or more people. The quantity of Biryani is sufficient for 2-3 people. I was there alone i just could not finish the biryani.
