we tried the biriyani and the irachi chore both embodied with flavours .The staffs where pleasing and they are friendly.

Finally dropped by 1947 Indian Restaurant a couple of days ago, after having eyed this restaurant for months. They've put in quite a lot of thought and effort into developing the interiors (and exterior) of this restaurant, which surely instills a sense of Pride and Patriotism in the hearts of every customer walking through their doors. It is definitely a space that one would love to revisit.

The attention to detail is quite remarkable. The seats, the tabletops showcasing old timey appliances, bits and bobs are interesting to see. The plates, goblets and cutlery are a fine touch as are the waiters seen dressed in traditional garb.

Getting to the food, we ordered The 1947 Special Soup and Chicken Lasooni Tikka as a Starter. For the Mains, we opted for Butter Chicken, Butter Naan, Kerala Porotta & Hyderabadi Chicken Biriyani, and ended the meal with Lime Juice & Tender Coconut Pudding for Dessert.

The Soup was creamy and tasted pretty good. The Lasooni Tikka was delicious with soft succulent pieces though the garlic flavour could've been a bit more prominent. The Butter Chicken though, disappointed a bit as the chicken pieces were mostly bony and the gravy too, tasted rather unusual. I would probably give this dish a pass next time. The breads, both Butter Naan and Porotta were really good. As for the Biriyani, it was decent, not too spicy and of a generous portion, served with a nice side of Raitha and Pickles. And last but not least, the Tender Coconut Pudding served as a delicious end to the meal!

The food, ambience and service at 1947 Indian Restaurant was quite good and the prices don't burn a hole in your pocket either. We happened to be there for Dinner on a weekday yet the place was brimming with customers and service was pretty quick as well. Would definitely recommend dropping by!
