Good Bengali Food... Quiet Ambience... Little bit costly as per what they served... Overall a good one for having a bengali lunch with friends and family...
Nice place. Ambience is at par and ideal for bengali cuisine. Run all by women. Food was quality. Have lunch with chitol muithya and vetki paturi. Both the item was good.
I am a regular here - even my table is almost fixed, the 'Didi's (stewardess) know.
Run by all women members - this place is a 'home away home' as far as authentic Bengali cooking is concerned.
Menu is simplistic however essentials of Bengali cuisine - like 'Mangsher Jhol' (Mutton Curry), 'Pabda Mach' or 'Topshe Fry' in Non-Veg items would blow off many so called star 'Bengali Restaurants' false pride & unrealistic extravaganza.
Being a Vegetarian, I prefer ordering a rice (I find their Rotis little coarse), Dal, Aloo Bhaja, a plate from their available Veg-menu for the day - either Phoolkopir Dalna (Cauliflower in thick gravy), Begun Bahar (a tasty prep with Brinjals as key ingredient), Lau Ghanta (Gourd), Dhokar Dalna or just simply Mixed Veg-Curry.
In summer days you can start with a nice coolant like Aam Porar Sherbat while deciding on the main course.
In dessert - 'Gokul Pithe' is a signature one, however at times if you are lucky enough, you may get a taste of their freshly made Patisapta or Chusir Payesh (you may love to re-born as Bengali and be back in Kolkata for this !!!)...
'Didi's' welcome & personal attention will make the experience all the more unforgettably wholesome...
