Gem that I found in my pandal hopping journey. I tried pasta and Gondhoraj moji .And both were excellent. A must visit place....
Located very close to Deshopriyo Park, a little away from the main road, this place is spared from the regular sound of traffic.
The soft ambient jazz in the background with equally befitting decor, makes Omo bistro all the more welcoming. The interior decor was also quite eclectic with quirky graffiti distinctly visible on the wall through the windows. The eatery however does justice to the heritage building that it is set in by maintaining an equally soft toned design that simply highlights the glorious architecture. Simple put, the place is a visual treat!
Which forbears an inquiry into the actual treat. Being at a bistro, by my estimates, is a really smart way to gorge on some continental dishes that would be significantly higher priced in some dedicatedly continental restaurants. All this budget management, whilst wholly satiating your tastebuds, as the quality of their food is just as good.
The service matches the standard already established in this review. The hygienic standards too follows suit. Overall, its a delight to visit with family, friends or even colleagues. Hope your visit is as fulfilling as mine was :)
OMO Bistro & Enoteca is our city's newest spot for trying out some delectable European and Italian and french cuisines. Located in 91, ground floor in Manohar Pukur road. This place can be easily located from Lake mall. It's almost 10mins walking from Lake mall in Kalighat.
The restaurant is very spacious and the dining area looks out to a small patio for outdoor dining. The paved patio outside catches a good deal of sun and has table and chairs which is a perfect place to sit, relax and eat with your group of friends or family.
Their off-white wall is decorated with artworks and abstract paintings and frames hung.
Their menu is very diverse and the added plus is that all are indian expect the olive oil and they source their ingrediants locally and it is organic too.
Now, let's look at what we all tried :
Grilled chicken : The grilled chicken breast and leg was the juiciest and tender. RECOMMENDED.
Grilled paneer : Here paneer is coated in a yogurt sauce, smothered in spices, and grilled on skewers just until lightly charred. I think this dish lacked a bit of seasoning. But it was perfect for my friend's taste.
Chicken burger were great and would recommend you to try them out.
Crispy silken tofu : Tofu's a difficult thing to cook and to my surprise, this was the best tofu dish i ever had and I loved the smoothness of the tofu. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Tortellini was quite good and perfect for my taste. It is basically handmade pasta stuffed with a mix of roasted seasonal pumpkin served with a crusty french breadslice called baguette.
Cheesecake and Pannacotta were the desserts we tried and loved it to the last bit. The pannacotta gave a smooth mouthfeel and the texture was it melted-in-the-mouth and i liked it.
Overall, i would definately visit here again to try out their fish dishes.
It was a great experience dining in here.
Until Next time
