Our search for a cosy and quiet plate to spend some good time, led us to Indigo Deli and they didn't disappoint.
The restaurant is spacious, and the booth-like sitting area gives an illusion of a privatised dining space, good for accommodating large groups too. The warm lighting added to the feel-good aspect of the place and so did the courteous staff.
We reached at around 12.45 pm when the restaurant was fairly empty, though it filled up eventually, and wasn't exactly crowded at any point in our 3.5 hours stay.
Coming to the menu is very diverse not only in terms of food items but also in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Upon our arrival, we were given a complimentary bread basket comprising of 2slices of bread, butter and mustard.
We ordered the following -
1. Long Island Iced Tea - my go-to cocktail...It was boozy and refreshing!
2. Butter Garlic Prawns with Kashmiri Chillies - An absolute must-try... The prawns were fresh, and buttery and the flavour of Kashmiri whole chillis complimented the butter garlic sauce really well. It was served with a chunk of bread which was again soft and a good accompaniment to the prawns.
3. Thin Crust Tenderloin and Picked Shallots Pizza with Blue Cheese - An crunchy thin crust pizza with a generous amount of Tenderloin slices cool medium rare to perfection. The pizza sauce on the base tastes good too. But, the blue cheese was not something we enjoyed the flavour of. The pungent taste and smell, whenever the dollops were present, tasted bad, so we decided to scrape off the blue cheese to enjoy the pizza. It was the first time that we tried the blue cheese and did not like it. The pizza sans the blue cheese was great!!
4. Tenderloin Medallions with Marrow - The tenderness and the flavour of the meat on the pizza prompted us to order this. The dish comprised of two pieces of steaks served with mashed potato and roasted whole garlic pod with jus. We asked for a medium-rare cook and they delivered perfectly... The meat melted in the mouth, was seasoned well and was one of the best I had in Kolkata. Another must-try from Indigo!
5. Molten Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Icecream - Warm, gooey and rich chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Quite a classic and served as the perfect dessert for our meal.
6. Viennese Coffee - another good one.
The food was great, the ambience was good too, the portions were sufficient for two people and the pocket pinch was decent. An overall amazing experience and would highly recommend everyone to visit!
This place takes the cake. I'm a regular here because of the wonderful decor and hospitality. They never disappoint me. Last night, I had a full course meal with recommendations from their monsoon menu. The prawn bisque was absolutely delicious--never tasted a soup so good! On other occasions, I have had their pancakes, signature eggs benedict (my favorite!), single-source and blended coffees (I believe, coffee is their USP; they make the best coffee), and fish large plates.
Cute, aesthetic place.
Food quality- Excellent (the pork and lamb were very juicy and spicy.. suitable to our indian taste, chicken was okay)
Portion- just right
Service quality- Great. They were very polite and nice. One of the staff, when asked, clicked great pictures of us.
Price range- 3500-4000 for two(including two mid range drinks)
My favourite dishes- Their signature dish ,Pork bites and Baileys ice cream.
If you are visiting Quest, its a definite place to visit..
