Amazing food on a budget.
Probably one of the best places to have authentic North Indian cuisine.
Server was amazing, definitely helped us pick items from the vast menu offerings they had, although they were out on a few items.
We ordered this dry paneer and dal tadka which were absolutely amazing.
I've had smaller portions from other restaurants for higher prices, so this was definitely beyond my expectation.
Taste was as you'd expect from a local dhaba, on point. Nothing too crazy nor bland either. Thaali was also nice, and for 150₹ it's a pretty good deal I must say.
They definitely don't hold back on using oil, so keep that in mind if you're on a diet lol.
The only gripe I had was the server was a little overbearing. While I appreciate the sentiment behind it, it's pretty hard to eat your food when they are standing right next to you lol. But yeah, ig it's just me.
Overall, definitely recommended, if you're into authentic Indian dishes, snacks and want to impress your friends.
I called the restaurant at ~4PM to know if they still served lunch. The person who attended the call was very polite and understanding. They let me know that thali meals were over but all other items would be available and assured me I had nothing to worry about if I was planning to visit the restaurant for a late lunch.
Just as they promised, they served all our orders within a matter of minutes and the service staff were very polite and sweet.
F[d was very tasty. I ordered Paneer tikka biriyani, Rumali rotti, Bhindi masala and mushroom curry. All of these were very well prepared and served.
Definitely worth multiple visits.
If you're looking for authentic North indian cuisine in Calicut, look no further. Punjab di rasoi offers the yummiest vegetarian food that really hits home.
It is at a walking distance from the beach.
The atmosphere is good and homely. There's good hindi speaking staff/waiters. You can enjoy hindi songs as you wait for your food to arrive.
I'd really like to recommend 'Bhindi masala' to everyone who hasn't tried it yet. The mango lassi here is also superb and thick.
The price is a bit on the expensive side, compared to the restaurants in norther parts of the country. But you may get a special discount if you're a student in kerala.
