I recently visited The big grill with my team for a pre-Diwali lunch, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. We had opted for the buffet, but the offerings failed to live up to our expectations.
The starters were underwhelming, to say the least. They lacked the spark that usually accompanies such dishes. There was a distinct absence of that 'wow' factor, leaving us hoping for more from the subsequent courses.
Moving on to the main course, it was disappointingly average. None of the dishes stood out, and there was a certain lack of finesse in their preparation. It was a missed opportunity to showcase the culinary expertise that one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
The service, unfortunately, was also lacking. The staff seemed to be in no particular hurry to attend to our needs, which led to a considerable wait for the second round of dim sums. This sluggishness in service was a noticeable dampener on what was supposed to be an enjoyable team outing.
Surprisingly, the desserts managed to salvage some of the experience. They were comparatively better than the earlier courses, offering a sweet note to end the meal on. However, it was a bittersweet ending to an otherwise lackluster culinary journey.
I sincerely hope that the restaurant takes note of these shortcomings and works towards elevating the dining experience for its patrons.
