Today I ordered mutton Biryani and but you delivered me chicken Biryani... I always loved Ritz cafe but by this kind of negligence I am very disappointed. Please do not repeat this.. Also today's biriyani rice was over boiled.
Good for fast food. Student friendly menu and price
Cheap price
An economic restaurant with no much of ambience. The is an AC room which is family oriented, which can accommodate around 5 families. Service is not that great. I loved the food
Ritz Cafe is a restaurant located at the Basement Level of Essel Centre, MG Road. Today, I went here for lunch with my colleagues as it was one of their birthday and she wanted to treat us.
Being lunch time and that too on a weekday, the restaurant was crowded. We sat in the AC Room which is quote bright and spacious. As soon as we sat down, the waiter came with the Menu. My friends had come here before, so they knew what is definitely worth eating again.
I browsed through the menu and found a huge variety of North Indian, Chinese and Arabian food. They also serve Thalis in the afternoon in case you are one who loves to eat traditional meals.
We ordered the following: -
1. Appetizer - Paneer Tikka. One portion came with 8 pieces of cube shaped Paneer which had been grilled well in the Tandoor. Loved the smokey flavour and the masala which was generously coated on each piece tasted delicious. It came along with a small bowl of Mint Chutney that was lip smacking good.
2. Main Course - Chicken Biriyani. If you see the bowl that the Chicken Biriyani was served in, you would definitely say WOW! The portion is enough for 3 to 5 people. The flavours blended well with the rice and the chicken pieces - which were gigantic - were nestled in between the grains of rice. There were two katoris which were served on the side. One was of Raitha and the other was a Chicken Gravy. But the texture was too watery, so could not exactly label it as a Gravy!
3. Main Course - Vegetable Fried Rice. Whenever I visit restaurants serving all kinds of cuisines and when Non Veg is more popular than Vegetarian, I settle for Vegetable Fried Rice. Just like the Chicken Biriyani, the quantity was enough to be shared. It was served with a small katori of Gravy which I did not eat as I could make out it was loaded with Cornflour and that is something I stay away from as it makes my stomach do a dance!
The food was served quickly and we were able to enjoy our lunch leisurely. Having eaten so much, we did not order any juice or soft drinks. They do have a list of Lassis, Juices and Milkshakes in case you want to quench your thirst after eating all that food!
The next time you go out for lunch or dinner and if you are near Essel Centre, do try out Ritz Cafe!
