Hotel Pingara offers a unique culinary experience with its blend of local and North Karnataka flavors. We opted for the Fish Rice served on a banana leaf, accompanied by some fish fry. The taste, influenced by both local and North Karnataka elements, provided a distinct and enjoyable dining experience.
A noteworthy addition was the North Karnataka chutney, alongside the usual fish fry and fish gravy, contributing to a diverse palate. The taste, although slightly different from other local restaurants, was delightful.
While the service was a bit slow, the staff ensured that the food served was hot and fresh. The lunch cost of Rs 40, along with additional charges for fish fry, presented a cost-effective option, especially considering the provision of unlimited rice and fish gravy. In an area like Manipal, Hotel Pingara stands out as a pocket-friendly choice for those seeking a unique and flavorful meal.
The wide variety of sea food available here is the best thing to have. The crowd is usually more during lunch hours. But the service is quick and good. The place is maintained well and the costs are also economical. Try their fish meals (you get to choose which fish dish you want with it).
For accompaniment you can order chicken or prawn or squid dish (as per availablity). The taste of each dish is great and can be savoured to the fullest.
Best place for local cuisine in Manipal. The seafood is fresh and cheap. Amazing food and staffs are very hospitable. Squid chilly is a must try! Don’t go for the Biriyani though
