It is one of the best PAN Indian cuisine restaurants which is within the city limits. Good ambience with live music and tasty, quality food what else you can expect.

The Lalit is one of the leading hospitality chains in India. Headquartered in New Delhi, the company opened its first hotel here in 1988 under the leadership of its Founder Chairman Mr Lalit Suri. The company offers twelve luxury Hotels, Places & Resorts and two mid-market segment hotels. The brand is celebrating the South India thali festival for a fortnight, and we were invited for a food tasting session.
The Principals:

Love the people here. My old friend, Eshita Desai, the Marketing Manager of this place. The Executive Chef Parimal Sawant, who runs the culinary department like a tight ship. And the Sous chef, Deepu Joseph, whose creations amazed us this evening. Chef Deepu is, in fact, so simple a person, you immediately warm up to him.
The Platter:

So we had an option of choosing between Malabari Thali or a Chettinad Thali. Malabari, for the uninitiated comes from Kasargod of Kerala, while Chettinad is a Tamilian cuisine.
The Malabari Thali comprised:
Sambar / Rasam / Parippu Curry (yellow moong dal)
Beans thoran (fresh beans sautéed with onion and coconut)
Malabari Fish curry (King fish in coconut milk base curry)
Mutton mappas (mutton curry with Malabari spices)
Kozi varuthathu (Deep fried dry chicken)
Aviyal (Mixed vegetables)
Rice / Malabari Paratha / Papadum / Banana chips / Banana
Payasam
The Chettinad Thali comprised:
Sambar / Tomato Rasam
Poriyal (fresh beans sautéed with onion and coconut)
Chettinad Fish grilled (King Fish)
Chicken Kuzambu (Chicken curry)
Mutton Varuwal (Mutton gravy)
Aviyal (Mixed vegetables)
Thayir Rice / Banana chips / Banana
Sweet Pongal

Awesome experience. I chose the Chettinad thali (but that didn’t stop me from grabbing a bite from the other one), and it was a visit down south. If authenticity is your inclination, there could be nothing better than this festival. The live ghazal singing adds another dollop of oomph to the overall environment. Kudos.
