This place is just over the top ....
Cafe Zoe has been on my "To Visit" list for a really long time and finally we did manage to visit this place. Don't be bogged down by the extremely narrow and winding gullies which are a true nightmare if you're driving there. And a word of advice: Please do switch you're Google Maps and Directions switched "ON" or you'd practically get lost! You'd need to keep an eagles eye to notice a board that directs you to a derelict building that houses this restaurant. And another 5 mins. to figure out the door which resembles a shutter that'd probably lead you to a garage sale. But once you push open the door you'd be absolutely mesmerized by A) The sheer loftiness of the space and B) The ample amount of daylight that passes through the huge canopy located above. The restaurant was truly buzzing and the tables practically booked on a Monday afternoon, that seemed rather odd but promising nonetheless. The Cafe sprawls over two floors (A lower floor and a mezzanine level). The lower floor was practically full and we were escorted to be sated upstairs. The decor is truly amazing and & tries to preserve the Mill Area Character through the extensive use of trusses, exposed brick walls, industrial lights, simple kota flooring, minimalistic wooden tables & a splash of color introduced through the over-sized sofas located at one end. An array of seating options to choose from ranging from the Bar Type, Tables & Cozy Sofas. To begin with I decided to try their Fettuccine however the one enlisted on their menu was prepared in Red Sauce, but on a request the server was glad to ask the chef to prepare one in a White Sauce. The Pasta was fabulous and truly no words could describe the creaminess of the Sauce and the texture of the Pasta which complimented it. This was followed by a Lemon Chilli Coriander Grilled Chicken with a generous helping of the Chicken which was extremely tender and the Jus highly flavorful. The meal was summed up by a Dessert of Dark Chocolate Mousse and Marzipan Cake that made my day. For someone headed to the Lower Parel Area this place is highly recommended for it's amazing food and most importantly to take back fond memories of the Mill Area Architecture that's quickly giving way to Glitzy Skyscrapers and Towering Manhhatanized Residential Apartments
