We finally visited Sardar Pav Bhaji, riding on the wave of its stellar reputation. The pav bhaji here is indeed tasty—buttery, spicy, and everything nice about Mumbai street food. It's the kind of meal that fills you up and leaves you nodding in appreciation, especially if it's your first dive into the local cuisine. They can offer a non extra buttery version of it though.
However, while the food was good, it didn't quite hit the legendary status I was expecting from all the buzz. The place is lively, and the smell of bhaji cooking is genuinely mouth-watering, but it might not stand out for those with seasoned street food palates. Overall, it's worth checking out, particularly for those looking to experience a classic Mumbai eatery.
Indulged in Pav Bhaji at Sardar Restaurant – known for exclusively serving this delectable dish. The single-item menu ensures a focus on perfection. Witness the preparation upfront, relish the quick service, and savor the deliciousness. A straightforward eatery, yet the Pav Bhaji comes highly recommended.
We ordered 3 plate Pav Bhaji and 3 cold drink for 777/-. It was a bit premium and costly.
The Bhaji taste is awesome as it is freshly prepared. You can even see it live while preparing. Pav is very soft and fresh.
But the dish they serve is full of butter. You have to tell the waiter separately that 'no butter' is needed.
Typical waiting time on weekend was 30 minutes and kept on increasing in the evening upto 1 hr as well.
