Awesome place to visit!
They have great ambience and nice service. The food is good.. In in veg they don't have many options but taste is good. Non-veg its okay okay. In terms of drinks you get that in little affordable prices in locality like Lower Parel.
You can go with your partner, friends and family as well. They make you feel comfortable in any accompanying.
The best thins is the DJ.. Music after 10pm was super.. You can not stop yourself dancing. Had fun.. Overall nice experience!!
Kamala mills is an uptown area and a concrete jungle in Lower Parel filled with posh restaurants in every nook and corner, and Kaama is one-such new entrant that wins hearts!
Kaama’s menu is a unique combination of exotic ingredients and dishes with an Indian twist to it, one that uses Indian spices, masalas and flavours to bring out the beauty of Indian cuisine in every dish.
Among the cocktails, we tried the Lustrous Cascade which is an Assam tea laden with rose petals, and mixed in a concoction of sweet paan extract, vodka, white rum, tequila, gin and lemonade. Next we tried the Tarsa – Gold Dusted Daiquiri which is a blend of white rum, mango pulp, saffron and mint topped with edible gold foil (varq). Well, who doesn’t love mangoes?
APPETIZERS
1) Green Masala Stuffed Crab , Mini Naan Crisp : Served in a half-open crab shell, were a marination of crab and garlic in green masala topped off with a layer of breadcrumbs. Love the fact that it wasn’t a messy affair as we didn’t have to crack open the shell. Delicious taste of crab in every bite.
2) Crispy Fried Pork Belly, Kerala Masala – Pork belly marinated in a dry and spicy kerala masala served alongside a mustard dip. The pork belly was cooked to perfection and tender. Tasted good.
3) Kaama Signature Overnight cooked Haleem, Caramelized Onion Mousse – Served in shot glasses were wheat, lentils and meat that was super creamy in texture. The caramelized onions added to the sweetness and texture of this appetizer. Could have be mixed with a stronger flavoured mutton broth. However, on the whole, it’s pretty heavy yet tasty.
MAINS
1) Bhuna Mutton Biryani, Fried Ginger : Bhuna Mutton Biryani filled with a generous amount of tender mutton cubes and well-flavoured and seasoned rice. The biryani was the star dish of the day and my favourite amongst the others. Nailed! Highly recommended.
2) Overnight cooked Dal Makhani : Soft and creamy consistency and texture of Dal Makhani that went perfectly with warm buttery naans. Need I say anymore?
DESSERTS
1) Rose & Gulkhand Panna Cotta : THE BEST Panna Cotta we have ever tasted till date. Smooth, silky and a melt-in-the-mouth consistency with a strong, refreshing flavour of rose and gulkhand. We just couldn’t get enough of this. A dessert that had us speechless till the very end. A crime to miss. Highly recommended.
2) Gulab Jamun Cheesecake : Well, love the unique combination of cheesecake with slices of gulab jamun, yes! A smooth and creamy cheesecake with a biscuit base topped and decorated with slices of gulab jamun. This combination actually tasted pretty good.
With the foot-tapping English music, we expect Kaama to be a pretty happening party place to dance through the night during weekends, coupled with huge cocktails and good food.
Although the restaurant has a very good feel to it, it's not worth the visit. They have strict and stupid policies related to clothing, so if you want to go here then do wear full length pants and shoes (for guys). The staff also isn't cooperative. The menu is overpriced and the quality of food in return is not good at all. If you fancy going to a high end restaurant, there are many more better options
