A Gourmet Restaurant serving Vegetarian delicacies of indian Cuisine, ‘Panaaya’ meaning mirror in Chinese is the theme of the outlet. Located in Lower Parel, Panaaya has a beautiful interior adorned with mirrors of different sizes. The pretty lighting attribute to its exquisite ambience as well.
The eatery serves the most simple and famous Indian dishes in the most artistic manner and might I add with such delectable flavors one can’t resist.
Without further a do lets begin with the food that we gorged on.
• We started off with Live Papdi Chaat . This was the highlight of the day. Though we were reluctant to order this, but we definitely would have regretted if hadn’t tried this out. What an amazing dish! Your very own street food, Papdi chaat was served in such a majestic way. From the chutney’s to the papdi and all the smallest of elements were plated right in front of us . we couldn’t have asked for a better finishing other than liquid nitrogen which added all glory to the dish. Taste wise WONDERFUL! We savoured it to the last bite. Highly Recommended.
• Chole Bunny Chow : A South African food consisting of hollowed out toasted French baguette filled with their signature Chole Chat. Such creativity there. Our Indian Chole fused with South African Bunny chow. This cute looking dish was really good.Something you could try.
• Chaupan Seekh Kebab with Apple Chutney : This was a quite spicy even though the apple chutney neutralized the spicy flavor. I was very impressed by the fact that these Seekh Kebabs were quite similar in taste to the non-vegetarian ones we have.
• Cheese Munchies : Munch on your most appetizing Cheese Munchies at Panaaya. The best you could have in town. These Chinese cubes, bellpeppers, olives and spices rolled up in long tikkis are served with a creole sauce topped with crispy potato shavings are so relishing, you’ll keep craving for me. You have to try these out. Highly Recommend these since we couldn’t stop ourselves from ordering it again.
• Vada Pav version 3.0 : Mini Vada Pavs presented in a very cute manner along with chillies were delicious. Something you should try out!
• Tandoor Vatana Kachori : Though it looked amazing with regards to its presentation, but taste wise we didn’t find it so appetizing. The kachori’s weren’t like the authentic ones we find elsewhere. Not to forget most of their dishes had met our expectations and hence we were a little disappointed with this dish.
Main Course :
• Papad Kofta Curry along with Butter Naan: Great Quantity, great taste, perfect flavors and tummy filling. What else could you ask for in a main course. Loved each and every bite. Highly recommend this!
Dessert :
• Rasmalai with Sago Caviar and Rose Shavings : Rasmalai a famous Indian sweet dish had a very enchanting plating. Delightful to the tastebuds, I would definitely recommend trying this sweet this. As simple as it sounds, you will love it !
